Garrett Burnett Sues Delta Police
Delta police force on trial for negligence by brain-injured former NHL player
Police arrived to find Burnett unconscious in a pool of blood.
He spent the next 20 days in a coma and four months recovering in hospital, including two months at G.F. Strong, before moving in with his parents in New Westminster.
Burnett, now 35, suffered a brain injury and never played hockey again. At the time of the assault, he was an unsigned free agent.
