Focus on the Champ
Just like in the last meeting between the Pens and Flyers, Georges Laraque caused a stir, this time in the form of a fight and a hit.
Laraque dispatched of Riley Cote rather easily in a first period fight and then hit Steve Downie from behind head-first into the boards in the second. The hit earned Laraque a game misconduct. Whether or not Laraque should earn a suspension will likely be determined by the league after the All-Star break.
Downie, who was suspended earlier this year as we all know, came away unscathed and even dropped the gloves with Ryan Stone later on in the game.
George Parros returned last night after missing three games due to a bruised knee and fought Raitis Ivanans. A bout between Andrew Peters and Krys Barch and veterans Luke Richardson and Andre Roy locking horns rounded out the night.

Welcome Versus
As we mentioned earlier, Versus will be running an ad campaign on hockeyfights.com starting today to help promote the 2008 NHL All-Star Game, which takes place this Sunday at the Philips Arena in Atlanta. For those of you in the U.S., the game will be airing live on Versus starting on Sunday at 6 PM EST.
Yesterday, I posted an interesting video involving Anaheim Ducks All-Stars Chris Pronger and Ryan Getzlaf talking about the game and the respect it generates among other things.
Server lovin’ had me a blast
We changed up our server setup last night. The new setup is bigger, badder and should help move things along a lot faster while letting us add some new features. Unfortunately as with every big change, a few bugs always come along. User fight reviews aren’t being displayed properly right now. It’s a display issue only.
