First Round Series Start to Shape Up

First Round Series Start to Shape Up

An unsurprising statistic: the Bruins and Canadiens are now the only series to have two fights.

Last night's only fight was between Andrew Ference and Benoit Pouliot.  Pouliot threw a charging elbow at Johnny Boychuk as they skated down the ice and came to the end boards.  He didn't get much of Boychuk, but it was enough for Ference to stand up for his teammate.  The smaller Ference did well as the two traded some shots and grappled.  Jack Edwards over-the-top call might be just as entertaining as the fight itself.

The Bruins were the victors, appeasing everyone but Habs fans.  Boston fans get their win, and the rest of us get to see a game 5.

Only two series are possible sweeps: the Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks could be eliminated tonight by the Canucks, and the Red Wings are close to ending the Coyotes' season.
