We’ve created our own fantasy hockey pool!
I present: the hockeyfights.com 2010-11 Penalty Box.
Our buddies over at SportsButter have been creating a lot of great pools for Facebook. We realized something was missing, and our very own hockey pool was born.
The concept is simple: pick one player from in a group. There are 10 groups in total. You play against everyone signed up, with your Facebook friends automatically highlighted.
You get points for:
- Goals – 5 points
- Assists – 1 point
- Penalty minutes – 1 point
- Fights (of course) – 5 points
Player swapping: want a new player? Easy. You start with two trade credits. Pick a new player, use a credit. You get that credit back one week later. Use them wisely.
10,000+ people have already signed up. We’re a few weeks into the season and still settling in. The deadline for signing up is November 2nd at 7:30PM Eastern.

Signing up is easy: go to the hockeyfights.com fantasy hockey page, or go to the hockeyfights.com Facebook page and click the "Hockey Pool" tab. Yes, you must use Facebook to join. SportsButter’s pools are all Facebook based, for now. We’ll work on other options for the future, but this season is set.
