Ducks & Blue Jackets Spark Up Sunday

After a lull of a Saturday, the Ducks and Blue Jackets beat out the previous night’s fight count in just one game. A pair of exciting Sheldon Brookbank and Derek Dorsett fights bookmarked the night’s fistic action.

There was a surprising lightweight bout between Andrew Cogliano and Kris Russell late in the first. Cody Bass went with Ryan Getzlaf shortly after, a mismatch in terms of size and talent for Getzlaf, but fighting experience for Bass. The Ducks let it go, never retaliating against Bass.

Bass and Dorsett are now tied with Zenon Konopka for the league-lead in fighting majors at four. Both the Ducks and Blue Jackets now top the team fighting majors list.
