Dropping The Gloves Episode 254: Montreal Wins Game 2, Conn Smythe Predictions, Eichel Rumors

Well, folks, it happened again.

After John doubted the Montreal Canadiens, they went out and tied up the series last night in Vegas with a 3-2 win. There was a sombre mood to start the podcast as John addressed the comments from social media. However, he still believes that Montreal doesn’t stand a chance for the rest of the series, but don’t worry, Habs fans, Tim is still on your side!

The big topic of conversation was who could win this season’s Conn Smythe award. There a few candidates from each team, but who would you pick? John also went over the recent history of the award and believed that many of the winners were undeserving.

To round out the show, the guys discussed the Jack Eichel situation. It seems very likely now that Eichel won’t be a Sabre next season, but where will he go? John and Tim talked about a few of those landing spots, including an interesting deal they could put together with one of the California teams.
