Darcy Hordichuk’s Discretion

The gamesmanship of Darcy Hordichuk

Nobody has to tell him when it’s time to raise the temperature in the building. He did it against Brad Staubitz in Minnesota 10 days ago, goading him into four early minor penalties. He did it by fighting winger Jared Boll in the 6-3 win over the Blue Jackets Friday and got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty tacked on by the refs because he stared down Derek Dorsett and said “you’re next.” The fight never came off, because Dorsett, who can play on my team anytime because of his crust, said he wasn’t interested (he’s a middleweight), even though he knew why Hordichuk was asking. Because Taylor Hall fought Dorsett last year and wound up spraining his ankle as he fell to the ice.

This is in line with Hordichuk's comments to Rick Jones.
