So when the B’s had the No. 4 trio of Shawn Thornton, Gregory Campbell and Daniel Paille in the game against a slew of Detroit stars with less than two minutes remaining in regulation yesterday at the Garden, it was a ringing endorsement from the coach that these guys had a very good game.
“I thought we played pretty well,” said Thornton, after the Red Wings’ 3-2 shootout win. “I thought we deserved whatever we got. We’ve had to earn it of late. (Paille) was flying and got rewarded with a goal. I thought (Campbell) played a good game. I felt pretty good out there, too.”
