Brashear Sued for 2011 Assault

Former NHL enforcer Donald Brashear sued for off-ice attack

Eric Labelle wants $215,000 in damages after Brashear was convicted of assaulting him following a March 2011 game in Riviere-du-Loup, Que., northeast of Quebec City.

Both men had just completed a match in the Ligue Nord-Americaine de Hockey, a minor-pro outfit known for wild brawls among players and fans.

Labelle says he lost salary at the Senate after the attack left him with a concussion. Labelle adds that he’s no longer able to earn a living playing hockey.
