Boyle, Kings Experience Fight-Filled 24 Hours

If you’ve been seeing Brian Boyle‘s name a lot over the past couple of days, there’s a reason for it. He’s experienced the best of both worlds in terms of fighting in the last 24 hours.

Boyle participated in his first NHL regular season scrap during Monday’s Kings–Flames game, winning a decision over Matt Pelech, who also received his first NHL fighting major in the bout. However, the result was a bit different for Boyle last night, as he fell victim to a more experienced fighter in Oilers defenseman Theo Peckham, who knocked Boyle down with a left hand during their first period battle.

In all, the Kings have fought five times over the last two days. Tuesday’s game against Edmonton featured three fights. An even bout between Jack Johnson and Dustin Penner as well as a heavyweight clash between Raitis Ivanans and Zack Stortini took place. Monday’s other fight in the Calgary game saw Wayne Simmonds go back and forth with Warren Peters in a “Fight of the Week” possibility.
