BGL Debuts in Montreal

Georges Laraque suited up for the first time this season during the Canadiens’ home opener last night against the Bruins and wasted no time getting back into the swing of things, dropping the gloves against an old nemesis in Shawn Thornton less than three minutes into the game. It was the fourth NHL fight between the two. Also making his first appearance of the season yesterday evening was recent Oilers acquistion Steve MacIntyre, who logged a few minutes against the Ducks.

Colton Orr met up with Andrew Peters for the first time this year during the first period of Rangers–Sabres. Paul Mara also got into the act later in the game after Patrick Kaleta, who kept his gloves on, took a run at him in the second. In Coyotes–Blackhawks, Shane Doan went after Dustin Byfuglien in defense of teammate David Hale after Byfuglien sent Hale flying into the boards.
