Belak Continues to Roll

Yet another impressive season is winding down for Wade Belak, who has cemented himself as one of the NHL’s top heavyweights over the last decade.

Despite being smack in the middle of his tenth full season in the league as well as his third team in the last year, Belak is showing no signs of slowing down, evident in his bout against Cam Janssen during the first few minutes of last night’s Blues–Predators contest.

Immediately after Belak flattened David Perron with a hard, but clean hit along the boards, the veteran found himself locking horns with a familiar foe in Janssen, whom Belak also fought back in December. Janssen’s parents were said to be in attendance, but that didn’t stop Belak from sending Janssen to the ice courtesy of a left hand during a toe-to-toe exchange between the two.

Thursday’s only other scrap was an impromptu meeting between Jaime Sifers and Adam Hall during Leafs–Lightning.
