Battle of PA Provides Main Attractions

The game may have lacked the usual intensity overall, but another chapter in the “Battle of Pennsylvania” between the Flyers and Penguins did provide two fights that were expected. Almost ten minutes into the first period, Eric Godard and Riley Cote tried to duplicate their exciting October 14 fight, but a flurry of rights from Godard prevented that from happening. Arron Asham then met up with recent call-up Paul Bissonnette later in the period and the two went back and forth without anything landing of note for either player.

Another ongoing rivalry was without a few tough guys on each side in Tuesday’s Canadiens–Bruins matchup, but Kyle Chipchura and Mark Stuart made sure something happened as they traded blows in a spirited scrap that sparked both teams.

Three fights took place in a wild one between the Blues and Flames. Cam Janssen and Andre Roy fought yet again this season in the first period while B.J. Crombeen took on Adam Pardy and Eric Nystrom battled Dan Hinote in consecutive scraps in the second.
