Andrew Peters Planning to Retire

After clearing waivers earlier today, it looks as if Andrew Peters has decided to hang them up:

Tough-guy left winger Andrew Peters cleared waivers and plans to retire.

His agent, Steve Bartlett of Pittsford-based Sports Consulting Group, said the Vancouver Canucks had asked Peters to report to the Manitoba Moose. But, having played only two games with the Amerks in October, and realizing his role would be very limited, he has decided to move on with life after hockey.

Peters spent six seasons in the NHL – five with the Sabres and last year with the Devils. He racked up a career-high 23 fighting majors during a standout rookie campaign in 2003-04.
