2011-12 Gets Into Full Swing

Nothing like a little rivalry action to make this NHL season come alive.
The Battle of Ontario seems alive and well. Mike Brown and Zenon Konopka fought early in the first period. Konopka had a choice of opponents and opted for Brown over Colton Orr, whom he was jawing with later in the game.
Chris Neil gave Luke Schenn little choice but to fight in the second period, and picked up and extra 14 penalty minutes for that decision.
The game seemed to be over after two periods with the Leafs up 4-0. But the Senators battled back, climbing within one goal with under five minutes left. The teams then exchanged one more goal a piece, before the Leafs won a surprisingly dramatic game.
Dominating performances
Ryan Reaves dropped Zack Stortini in St. Louis and Wayne Simmonds quickly dispatched with David Clarkson in Jersey. The Rangers continue to fight overseas, but Michael Rupp was handled easily by George Parros.
