Off the face off, the two were along the boards and start hugging by the corner. Probert threw a right that missed and then Grimson locked Probert out and threw several rights as Probert was trying to lock Grimson out, but failed due to Grimson's reach. Grimson then landed a couple of nasty rights square to the nose and face of Probie that snapped his back and forth.

Lots of talking in this one. I think perhaps they each contacted a promoter, lined up a date, discussed training programs and then got ready to fight. They drop the gloves and have a pretty long square-off. It's been about half an hour now, and they decide to fight. They're grapple-fighting, and each throw a couple with Scatch possibly landing one (although grazing). Bell then falls on a swing, and as he's falling Scatch is punching and continues to do so when Bell is down (perhaps they agreed on this before-hand?). Bell has a little blood under his nose (I didn't remember seeing anything there before).

Dec 14, 2001 2pd 06:53 Bob Probert @ATL Darcy Hordichuk
Both players drop the gloves, with each guy grabbing hold they start spinning. After about 20 seconds of spinning and no punches thrown, the officials jump in. Both fighters only get 2 minutes for roughing. As the penalties end both skaters enter the ice and immediately drop them to finish what they started. Hordichuk is trying to stay in tight and throws a couple of rights that land on Probert's shoulder. Probert throws a couple that miss. Hordichuk misses with a couple and then lands a right to the side of Probert's helmet. As Hordichuk starts to go down Probert lands a right to the top of Hordi's head. Other Penalties: Probert received a roughing minor.

Dec 21, 2001 1pd 03:04 Aaron Downey EDM Georges Laraque
After Downey hits Anson Carter, Big Georges goes directly after Aaron and off come the gloves. Laraque tries to get the helmet off of Downey, who's trying to get a good grip on Laraque's left arm. Laraque tries to rip it off his head, but that doesn't work, so he tries to throw a punch, but it misses. Laraque finally gets the helmet off of Downey's head and rains down left after left after left. No contest here as Georges is dominating at this point of the fight. He must've got off about 8-10 lefts at this point. The linesmen look like they are gonna break it up, as one grabs Georges, but the other linesmen doesn't grab Downey, so Downey is able to get off two shots before the other linesman can grab him.

Dec 21, 2001 1pd 16:24 Bob Probert EDM Georges Laraque
This was Laraque's second fight of the game (and first period). Good long square-off between the two heavyweights. Both guys don't want to be the first to grab on, as the first one who grabs likely will be the first one hit. Finally, Probie gets a hold of Georges and loses his balance. Laraque is able to land a few short lefts, maybe 3 or 4, but they are in too tight so none of the punches do any damage. Probie tries to answer with lefts, but they hit Laraque's back. Probie tries to come over the top with rights, but they hit air. Laraque answers with a left which misses, another left which may have connected, and then some more hugging. The linesmen step in to break up this scrap.

Dec 23, 2001 2pd 10:32 Ryan VandenBussche DET Darren McCarty
A fair drop of the gloves along the boards near the benches. Vandy initiates the grab and McCarty lowers his head and grabs on too. Lots of tugging and McCarty pushes Vandy's helmet off. They're near the Wings bench now and McCarty has Ryan's jersey over his head so he lets loose with a left that comes up empty. Vandy, even though blinded, connects a glancing blow off of McCartys head. Darren lands a weak left to the shoulder and then comes under with an uppercut that appears to land flush on Vandenbussche's beak. A follow up left from McCarty lands to the side of the head. Vandy is having a hell of a time with that jersey and is in trouble. A WILD right from McCarty misses everything . Vandy's jersey just gave birth to a brand new head! Bob Probert is cruising nearby... They're both jostling for position. In close now up against the boards. McCarty fires a left that looks like it missed. Probert just cross checked somebody! Darren and Vandy are watching him now! They're done?! Hmmmm. This was kinda weird. Probert then points to the bench and starts yelling and has to be escorted off the ice. Other Penalties: Bob Probert received a roughing and misconduct; VandenBussche an interference.

They drop'em off the face off and each go for the grab. Shelley fires a right that appears to connect and avoids a Probert right. Shelley returns another right that misses. They're going back and forth with the rights: Probert misses, Shelley comes up short on three in a row. Shelley gets his arm wrapped around the King's head and pulls both guys down. Here come the men in stripes and it is over. Short fight.

Second fight of the game between these two. Camera gets there as both guys are locked out but Shelley has the right cocked. Shelley unloads but comes up short. Grabbing and tugging. Along the boards. Probert lets go with a right that may or may not have connected. Bad camera angle. Shelley shows no damage though. Shelley lands a solid right to Bob's ear. He then tries an uppercut which hits nothing. Another uppercut fails. Probert's right is locked out so he throws a left which Shelley turns away from. He then returns a right which catches Probert's helmet. And again, another right to the back of the helmet. And another. In tight now. Probert lands a short right to the jaw. Both helmets come off. Shelley throws another right but misses this time. A Probert left misses. Probert gets bent over a bit. Shelley fires a right over his head, comes back with another right and it misses too. Probert lands a glancing blow to Shelley's face and another to his shoulder. Shelley lands a right to Bob's face as he is coming in. Ouch! That stopped Probert's right in mid swing. I belive that opened his eye up. Probert comes back with a right but it doesn't connect. Both guys are locked out again. Lots of pulling. Bob wants to fire a right but he's tied up. Shelley is hanging on. Another Probert right just can't get going. The refs come in now. Probert's left eye is bloody. Shelley has a trickle of blood coming from his right eye. Nice active fight. Probert was wanting to get loose badly.

Three fights will get these guys an early exit, but I don't think they care. Here we go! Off the faceoff both guys square off fairly. Probert starts with a left that is off target. Both men grab on. Shelley lands a glancing right off the top of Probert's helmet. Bob pushes him into the boards off balance. Shelley recovers and avoids a Probert right. Somehow Jody misses a point blank right. Probert lands a left to the face and misses another as Shelley appears to land a right to Porbert's already bloodied eye. Again Probert misses a left and Shelley again appears to land a right to the face. They're throwin 'em. Shelley misses a wild right, Probie misses another left. Another haymaker right from Shelley goes over Probert's head. Both guys have grabbed on and are in real close pulling and tugging. Down they go with Probert on top. As the refs come in and the fight is over Shelley fires a right from the ice and pops Bob in the nose. Kinda cheap. Lots of activity here. Other Penalties: Both players received game misconducts.

Jan 12, 2002 2pd 11:33 Bob Probert @CBJ Jody Shelley
Good fair square off. Probie is sporting a major shiner on his left eye from the other night. Shelley back peddles during the square off as Probert closes in. Cat and mouse. Oooh-yeah! Probert lands a solid left to the ear as a Shelley left misses. No apparent damage now. Back to a square off. Bob grabs on with the right and swings a wild left that misses. This leaves Shelley open and he answers with a good looking right to Probert's head which rattles his helmet off. Into the clinch. Shelley misses with one short right and connects to the back of Probert's head with a follow up. Two more weak rights miss behind the head. They're in real close and Shelley fires off three more short rights; the first two hit the back of the head the third misses. More grabbing. Probert glances a right off the back of Shelley's helmet. They are in real tight and Jody lands another short right to the back of the Probert's head. Again Shelley lets loose three rights; the first two land to the back of the head and the third misses. Three more short rights glance off or miss Probert. They're out of the grab now. Shelley comes up short on a heavy right. Now Shelley tries a right uppercut but it ain't close. Jody gets bent over and Probert tries a left which misses. Another Shelley right goes way off course and he loses his helmet. Probert misses a weak looking left and evades a Shelley haymaker. Probert comes again with a left that hits Shelley in the shoulder and he lands a weak right immediately afterwards. Hugging again. Probert glances a left off of the right side of Shelley's head while he absorbs two rights to the back. Shelley appears to land a good right to the side of the face. Pushing and pulling; off balance and they both go down. There is nothing left to prove here. Shelley has handled himself well in all four fights and Probert is going out with a bang.

Jan 12, 2002 2pd 12:24 Mike Peluso @CBJ Tyler Wright
This one starts after the whistle. They have a few words and go into a clinch, then drop the gloves. It's easy to see that Wright is out of his element. Peluso attempts some sort of headlock as they get tangled up. Wright is hanging on for dear life. He's going for the body slam. Peluso lands a right to the back. Wright still has his head buried in Peluso's chest and his helmet has come off. Now Peluso's right arm is tied up in his jersey. He manages to jerk it free and loses his helmet in the process. Now they are both off balance and Peluso tumbles to the ice.

Jan 14, 2002 2pd 05:23 Aaron Downey EDM Sean Brown
During the previous play, Downey was mixing it up with Oiler captain Jason Smith after the whistle blew. So off the ensuing faceoff, Downey and Brown square off. Downey gets going first, unleashing some right hand bombs, that seemed to connect with either the top or the side of Brown's head. Brown countered with some rights of his own, which also connected pretty good. They jockey for position, and Downey then gets going with the left hand. Brown is off-balance and takes a few punches because of it. Brown tries to answer with lefts of his own, but they were weak. Downey is able to get Brown's jersey over his head at this point, and the linesmen step in. Brown goes down with both linesmen in between the two, and Downey throws two more right hand bombs.

Jan 30, 2002 2pd 07:17 Ryan VandenBussche @NJD Jim McKenzie
They go right off the draw after a Holik goal. The first two camera angles could have been better. The first one is your traditional far away shot from high up anytime there is a center ice faceoff. The second one they tried to get an ice level shot but the cameraman must have been getting into the fight because the camera was jumping all around! Anyway, they just start firing at each other right off the draw. All offense no defense. McKenzie really looks like he is nailing Vandy with lefts. Vandy landed some shots but was having trouble reaching Jim. Then, they stop and get in a little closer and get defensive. McKenzie is throwing some straight shots at Vandy, and Vandy is taking some, but takes a Domi style approach as he lowers his head and waits for an opening to throw a bomb. He tries 4 and lands 3, two real good ones. While he is doing that, about half of Jim's shots hit the mark. Then McKenzie lands a real good left, then an uppercut and one more and then he just wraps up Vandy. Maybe he felt he hurt VandenBussche and stopped. I don't know if that was the case because the linesmen were in no rush to break it up and Vandy really did not look hurt. Chico Resch said Mac outlands about 2 to 1. He also gave Vandy his due and said just before the game, Vandy was shadowboxing for about 3 minutes outside the locker room.

Vandy runs a Coyote into the end boards at the start of the game. Brad May jumps in with gloves off and throws 3-4 punches to the back of VandenBussche who still has his gloves on. Vandy is knocked to one knee, quickly gets up and starts throwing them. Each man is throwing really hard with alot of punches landing. About 5 or 6 huge lefts landed for each man. Very entertaining scrap as each man is throwing quick, huge bombs. Other Penalties: May received a roughing.

A long squareoff. Nazarov starts off throwing a right that gets blocked by Downey, who was also throwing a punch. Surprisingly Naz didn't start hugging, he grabbed Downey with his right and started throwing several lefts (about 4-5) that were actually connecting. Downey finally gets his left loose and drills Naz with a left. Naz immediately goes down to the ice. Downey continued throwing lefts (none landing). While the refs are busy with these two, Downey and Low get together. Low starts it with a semi-uppercut, then a right to Downey's neck. Downey misses with a right, Low misses with a short right, then throws a left to Downey's ear. Downey misses 2 big lefts, Low rips his helmet off, then throws a left that hits Downey in jaw/neck. A left to top of Downey's head, then a left that turns Downey around. Low then throws 3 or 4 lefts to back of Downey's head. Downey looked like he landed a nice left to the side of Low's jaw, then misses with a left. Now they're twirling with both having their lefts free. Downey misses badly, then lands a nice left on Low, and then throws a haymaker that low blocks. A left by Downey to Low's chest, then an uppercut which is hard to tell if it hit. They tie up in close, Low throws a week left, then rocks Downey's head back with an uppercut. Low lands 5 short lefts on side of Downey's face and ear, then misses with an uppercut, then 2 more short lefts. Downey throws 2 weak lefts, and Low throws one that glances Downey's forehead.
