Gloves came off before the ref could drop the puck for a face off in the Senators end. Good even square off. Brown had the early edge landing a pretty good right to the face of Bonvie. Bonvie obviously had the strength advantage as he pretty much ragdolled Brown all the way to the boards and scored the take down. Long, yet not so entertaining battle. Also, both guys were given misconducts for starting the fight before the ref dropped the puck. Old time hockey. Other Penalties: Both players received misconducts.

Redden lost his stick and was trying to play the puck with his feet when Grosek just drilled him into the boards. The camera panned away from the action momentarily and when it came back to the two players, the gloves were off. The fight didn't last long as Grosek landed the only punch that was a glancing blow causing Redden to lose his balance. Grosek threw a few more on the way down scoring the takedown.

Odgers is mugging Brown in the neutral zone after the Bruins score an early goal. Both drop em and we're off. Both are throwing fast and hard, each landing about four or five to the mug. Brown's helmet comes off as they continue throwing. Brown goes down on top of Odgers. As they skate off Odgers nose is bleeding. Pretty even fight. Spirited opening to the game.

Stock checked Peat into the boards and Peat gave him a little cross-check back and they dropped the gloves. Started off with a bit of grappling as PJ might have been protecting his recently healed face. Both guys start to size each other up and exchange some short jabs. The guys come apart enough to exchange decent blows and then start trading haymakers. Peat lands some nice bombs to the side of PJ's helmet. PJ lands a couple and gets in two good shots, one snaping back Peat's helmet and the other right square on Peat's face. Peat answers with a few more bombs as he controled the fight a tad bit more. Other Penalties: Stock received an elbowing.

PJ throws a check behind the net, and in return is hit with an elbow from Hnidy. PJ pushes him off and Hnidy drops the gloves. PJ also drops em', but just grabs on looking around trying to get the pp! Finally after eating a few shots he fights back and evens it up a bunch. Other Penalties: Hnidy received an instigator and misconduct.

Stock hits Hnidy from behind into the boards and they skate up ice with Hnidy shoving Stock and knocking his helmet off. Stock plays the puck up ice, circles around the defensive zone, and hits Hnidy hard against the glass. The two then push and shove before dropping the gloves. Stock throws a quick uppercut and a right followed by two more rights to the back of Hnidy's helmet. The two wrestle around and Stock throws another short flurry that dislodges Hnidy's helmet from his head. Hnidy pins Stock up against the glass and throws two lefts, but Stock returns fire with four quick lefts, two of them connecting. Hnidy throws a few rabbit punches and an uppercut while Stock continues to try and get an arm free. Stock then pumps away with his right while Hnidy tries to move away from the punches. Stock then continues to throw a mix of rights and lefts at Hnidy who is unable to respond with very much. Stock eventually tires out and the linesmen come in.

The puck is dropped and Brown throws a high cross check on Bonvie and they drop em. They square off and Brown starts it off with a nice right catching Bonvie as he was reaching in to grab Brown's jersey. Brown lands as few more good rights as most of Bonvie's are coming up short. Brown throws a huge right which barely misses and spins Bonvie around and loses his balance as Bonvie lands on top of him and throws a late shot or two while Brown is down. Bonvie got up and yelled at the ref about the cross check (which Brown got tossed for). Other Penalties: Brown received an attempt to injure match penalty.

Knuble catches a Sen with his stick while falling to the ice and Fisher comes to the rescue. Fisher nails Knuble with some good uppercuts as Knuble counters with a few rights before Fisher puts him down with some more uppercuts. Other Penalties: Fisher received a roughing and misconduct; P.J. Stock a roughing and game misconduct.

During the Knuble-Fisher fight Chara gives Gill the stick tap which is called two huge spears by Dale Arnold. They drop em' and Gill gets Chara down and everyone on the ice jumps in for a lengthy scrum. Gill comes very close to getting nailed in the face with Chara's skate. After Bonvie makes an attempt to get to Stock, but the officials wouldn't have it. Other Penalties: Both players received game misconducts.

All the scrappers are out. Boulton and Ray get a little pushing and shoving going. Ray goes to skate away. Myhres grabs Ray and drops his gloves and spins Ray around. Ray falls to his knees, throws his gloves and tries to get up. Boulton jumps in and then everybody gets in and starts wrestling. No real fight. Boulton and Myhers both for some reason get thrown out of the game. Other Penalties: Myhres received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct; Boulton a game misconduct; PJ Stock a misconduct. Rob Ray did not receive a fighting major.

Off of a Toronto goal these two grab each other and drop them. Stock throws a bunch of lefts under Belak's arm, who is off balance and can't get anything going. Belak finally gets himself sorted out and gets some rights off. Belak and Stock start trading punches, each landing a couple. Then Belak is able to get Stock off balance and use his reach to throw a few unanswered rights, but doesn't seem to do much damage with them. Stock gets back in close, and they are both pretty much out of gas. They hold on and the linesman come in.

Grosek meets Biron in the corner, and Biron hits him with his trapper. Warrener comes over and the gloves fly off. Grosek throws around three quick, short rights that land weakly. Warrener gets his right free and throws a few, hitting mostly helmet. Grosek is sort of hunched over, loses his balance, then falls. Not much of a fight. Warrener is favoring his right hand afterwards.

Right after a Buffalo goal, the two square off. Boulton throws two rights in, Stock comes back with some of his own, and they go toe to toe with the rights. Looked like most were landing, Stock possibly with the better shots. Boulton gets off-balance and goes down. Short scrap.

Brown nails Henrik Tallinder into the boards. Gratton immediately skates over and drops the gloves. Everyone piles in, and the two come out of the pile. Gratton is throwing the right quickly, looks like quite a few landed. Brown throws some rights back, landing a couple. Grappling, more rights from both fighters, Brown tries the left to no avail. Right uppercut from Gratton finds the mark and Brown answers with a decent right. The linesmen step in shortly after. Other Penalties: Gratton received an instigator and misconduct.

They go right by the penalty box, and Boulton is firing away with the right. Stock loses his helmet and is getting pummeled and starts throwing lefts back. Boulton is still throwing rights and landing some good ones, Stock gets his right out of his jersey and starts throwing back. Possibly more rights from Boulton, and the linesmen get in there. Stock waves to the crowd. Other Penalties: Both players received a slashing minor.

Clark follows Boynton down the ice sticking him then gives Boynton a face wash and the gloves hit the ice. Boynton appears to land a right and just as the ref skates by to block the camera, Clark throws an uppercut which may have landed. Other Penalties: Both players received a slashing.

Gauthier charges Goren near the boards, so Hilbert goes after him, but Nichol gets to Hilbert first. Nichol was in total control as Hilbert did the stand up turtle. Could have given them roughing minors, but Nichol was out of the game after penalty time was totaled. Other Penalties: Dennis Gauthier received a charging; Nichol an instigator and misconduct.

Grosek nails Kovalev from behind in the boards, Ference comes right over to stick up for the Pens' star and drops them with Grosek. Bad camera angle. Ference throws a few shots glove-on and then a few lefts that looked like they may have landed. Grosek throws a missing shot and then they went down. Other Penalties: Ference received an instigator and misconduct.

At the beginning of the 2nd the B's score 2 quick ones and Atlanta calls time. Odgers is sent out and he challenges Stock along the boards. Good spirited fight with some shots landed by both. Odgers throws a bomb which PJ ducks and Odgers connects with the glass. Ouch!

The Thrashers get a 2-man advantage and score two goals and over-celebrate a bit. On the ensuing faceoff Brown goes right after Cowan. Cowan throws a couple of lefts, which appear to miss, and then Brown lands a couple putting Cowan to the ice.

Starts in front of the B's net and it looks like O'Donnell initiates. Roy gets the right going, but seems to come up short on all four punches. O'Donnell has a nice opening and attempts two rights, but his arm is caught up in his jersey. He then turns and Roy throws about four more rights to the back of O'Donnell's helmet.

After a couple of nice uppercuts by Quintal they slowed along the boards, that they were gonna end it, they both looked exhausted. It looked like the ref asked PJ if they were done. He shook his head and opened up with a big right then swiched to his left as Quintal was dropping big rights. They trade punch after punch, Stock with the left, Quintal with the right. Quintal switches up to his left and gets in a couple good shots then meets a hard right by Stock. Both players exhausted, Quintal sneaks in another uppercut and PJ tries throwing a couple more, but all the mustard's off of both players shots and its over.

Starts at the Caps blueline as Witt is giving extra shoves to Thornton. Lapoine steps in and Witt turns away, but Marty holds on and the gloves come off. Lapointe lands an immediate left which cut Witt pretty bad. Witt comes back with a couple of rights and Marty returns some with a couple of uppercuts. Lots of blood pouring out as Witt headed to the locker room for repairs. Other Penalties: Lapointe received an instigator and misconduct.

Late in the third Stock and Cairns are poking at each other in front of Isles' net, Brown comes in and off come the gloves. They lock out each other's lefts and start with rights. Cairns lands a couple early and Brown hangs in there, and throws a couple decent uppercuts. Cairns then takes over and starts to land a couple of heavier punches. Cairns lands the last couple of rights and Brown is now bent over. Linesmen come in to end it. Brown leaves the ice dripping a little blood.

Squareoff off of a faceoff, camera is pretty late getting there, both guys are very active and throwing punches. Oliwa is sticking with his right and Belak is switching it up. Both land about 2 shots when Belak hits a left, then a right that buckles Oliwa. He takes a knee and stands up, then they hold on and the refs come in.

Ray elbows Stock right in the kisser, and everyone piles in. Ray and Stock drop the gloves, but the linesmen are in between them. Both guys are trying to get at each other. No significant punches thrown by either, but fighting majors for both. Ray gets 19 penalty minutes, and Sean Brown gets a gamer for third man in. No "real" fight. Other Penalties: Stock, Krzysztof Oliwa and Jay McKee each received a roughing; Sean Brown a game misconduct; Ray an elbowing, roughing and misconduct.

It starts with PJ slashing Belak, which Wade doesn't like and Belak drops the gloves. They start out wrestling and grappling, trying to get their hands free. PJ starts throwing uppercuts then Belak starts landing some punches near or to the side of PJ. PJ comes back with some rights to Belak. At this point both are tired of throwing and are holding on. The referees won't jump in so PJ keeps trying to throw uppercuts even though his face is red and exausted. Belak gets thrown back near the net by one of Stock's punches and almost falls and that’s when the linesmen jump in. Other Penalties: Stock received a slashing.

Mostly wrestling until Oliwa lands a right uppercut. Oliwa follows with a right which comes up short and then lands a nice right. Shelly answers with a right of his own, then they jockey a bit and Shelly's jersey comes free and Oliwa complains to the linesman and they break it up.

Starts in front of the B's net as it looks like Stock and Oliwa are fighting over who's going to go with Henry. The 6'6" Henry gets Stock at arms length and starts firing rights, landing maybe one. Stock ducks and starts to chuck the left, landing maybe one of his own. Henry gets him at arms length again and fires off 4 or 5 more rights, all glancing as Stock turns his head with each Henry punch while trying to get better position. Stock gets inside and tries to throw again, but scores the takedown.

LaCouture goes after Goren late in the game, for Goren taking Kovies knees out in the 1st. LaCouture controlled the fight and landed a few good lefts, Goren really didn't look like he even threw a punch. Goren also looked cut on the forehead. Desjardins cross checks Thornton, and Thornton gives him a shot back. Thornton follows Desjardins up the ice, they get the sticks high and Thornton drops the gloves. He rips the helmet off of Eric, and Desjardins finally drops the gloves. They are both in pretty tight. Thornton throws a bunch of short punches that all connect, and Desjardins doesn't want any of it and the linesman break it up. Desjardins is bleeding right over his eye.

Right off of a faceoff they drop the gloves. Strudwick was a little slow early and Brown threw a few that missed. Strudwick leaned away and Brown made a weak attempt to reach him, but missed that as well. Now Brown is off-balance and Strudwick regains control. No devastating shots but, Brown went to the knee and Strudwick could have buried him, but just held back. Lots of respect for not taking the cheap shot.

PJ challenges Lacouture, who quickly obliges. Lacouture throws a left that's short while back-tracking. Dan lands a nothing left to PJ's helmet. They twirl and PJ throws a left that misses. They both push the others jersey up to their chins. PJ throws a right that looks to graze DL'S face, then PJ hits him in the helmet with a right. Lacouture ducks down while PJ pops Dan's helmet off with a right to the back of the head. PJ throws a few more noogie shots at a ducking Lacouture, then gets Dan up against the boards and nails him with a nice right to his temple. Lacouture throws a big left that just glances of PJ's helmet just as a Stock right misses. Stock throws two more rights that don't connect while Dan's right hits PJ's arm. Stock gets Dan off-balance and slams him backwards hard while throwing a left that didn't hit.

Pushor throws a left too far away to see if it hits any good. Stock throws about three rights to the back of Pushor's head getting him off-balance. Pushor throws a hard right to PJ's neck, then PJ tries a right, but Pushor has his jersey tied up. The linesman is ready to grab on, then PJ throws a weak haymaker that hits Pushor's chest. PJ is now yelling at the linesman who is grabbing his sleeve. PJ lands a nice right to Pushor's cheek, didn't look flush. Stock throws two big rights that miss a dancing Pushor, then two nothing rights that miss badly. They're at arms length now. Pushor tries a left that comes up short. Stock tries to pull him in, as Pushor bounces a left off the top of PJ's helmet. PJ once again comes barreling in towards Pushor and ducks under a Pushor right. Pushor then grabs him in a headlock.

When the camera gets there Gill looks like he hits himself in the head with an uppercut (really). Prims throws a right that Gill ducks under. Gill throws a right to Prims' shoulder. Camera leaves to show Moran and Oliwa doing their best "let me at 'em" routine while being mauled by the refs. Now back to the Primeau-Gill. They are hugging big-time, then Primeau throws a short right that rocks Gills head slightly. Gill throws a bodypunch. Prims just misses with a awkward right, then glances a right off of Gill's shoulder. Primeau ducks under to avoid a Gill right and then throws a nothing right to Gill's neck. The camera then pulls back to show Pushor-Stock. Other Penalties: Ian Moran received a charging; LaCouture and Sean Brown a roughing; Krzysztof Oliwa a roughing, charging and misconduct.

Early in the game, both teams are antsy and a big check sets this off. Lapointe is firing rights, landing most as Adams is hunched over. Adams goes to straighten up and throws a big left that stuns Lapointe, and then another left that puts him down!

Good square off, lots of hand movement by Oliwa. They come together and get tight. McKenzie appears to land one or two short rights, then Oliwa answers with one. They clutch each other and go down to their knees and it is broken up. Not much, 10 seconds at best.

Camera's late, they're in the corner (to Steve Shield's left). Brown's got Wiemer tied up and getting in his shots. Takes Wiemer a bit and he gets a punch off, then they're tangled, Wiemer's jersey comes up and goes down while he's starting to throw his own, landing them. Wiemer then gets loose and chucks a couple of more putting Brown down. Brown early, Wiemer late. Brown's hunched over going to the box (probably exhausted).

Oliwa inadvertantly high-sticks Modano, and DiMaio goes right after him and instigates, although there was no extra penalty to Rob. This one was all Oliwa as he landed a bunch of rights on DiMaio and got the takedown. Other Penalties: Oliwa received a double high sticking.

They square off at center ice and immediately tie each other up. They grapple for a few until Stock gets his right loose and lands a couple of good shots. Vandermeer gets loose too and lands some good lefts countered with more rights by PJ. Stock does a good job of switching up and lands more lefts and rights. Both combatants land great punches in this long battle, but Stock landed more. Vandermeer seemed to have a grin on his face the whole fight, but both players looked pretty beat up afterwards. Stock does his wave and appeared to be bleeding and it looked like he had a small mouse under his eye. Great fight.

Square off after a Bruin goal. Oliwa gets in a good right early, and then kind of lands/comes up short on three more. Vandy tied him up well, and a few nothing shots were exchanged. Vandermeer brought this one down to the ice and it's over.

The B's score their 3rd goal in the first 10 min so the Caps yank Kozlig and send Peat out. Peat drops the gloves the gloves with Oliwa and lands the first right. They grab a hold of each and Peat's right is free as he throws about 8 of them with a few landing. Oliwa then gets a right in, followed by another good right, which stuns Peat for a second. They now are tied up with Oliwa trying to get free and complaining to the linesmen. The linesmen then break it up.

On the ensuining faceoff after Oliwa-Peat, Stock and Henry go in another classic. They squareoff for a couple of seconds, then they move in and grab. Henry throws a couple of rights which miss and Stock turns southpaw and throws some lefts, which come up short. Henry then gets the right lined up and lands about 4-5 hard rights until Stock comes up with a right of his own that lands flush and snaps Henry's head back. Stock quickly switches back to the left and lands 2-3 to a stunned Henry. They clutch and Henry regains his composure and lands another good right followed by more clutching. Stock lands one more right which looks to be all helmet, and the linesmen come in. Stock was opened up again and was bleeding pretty good.

Witt is harrassing Thorton behind the Caps Net and Thornton finally said enough and drops the gloves, bad timing for Witt too because the Caps broke up ice and scored, but the wistle blew. Witt tries a few lefts which miss and Thornton throws some rights. Witt is holding the sleeve on Joe's jersey by the wrist so Thornton was throwing short rights, landing, then switching to the left and landing a nice one. Witt counters with a couple of rights then Thornton lands another left and switches back to the right and lands the last 4 punches as Witt doesn't look too interested in fighting anymore. Other Penalties: Thornton received a roughing.

The B's go down 2-0 quickly so Ftorek sends out Oliwa. Off the faceoff he challenges Strudwick and they go. They both start off throwing rights, each landing a few, then they move in and grapple. Strudwick slips out of an Oliwa headlock and throws about 5 rights with a few landing and Oliwa bails.

Boynton whacks Worrell in the back of the leg and Worrell is pissed. Worrell starts to throw rights as Boynton is on the ground. Boyton stands up and tries to answer back, but nothing connected. Worrell then throws some more at Boynton which look to land. Worrell has Boynton against the boards and is throwing nothing punches at the end. Other Penalties: Boynton received a slashing.

Buchy takes a shot a Gill after Hal cleared him away from Raycroft's net. Oliwa had just stepped on the ice and went straight for Naz in the corner and they go. Oliwa was throwing a lot of rights, Naz just holding on. After a while, they get to about the faceoff dot and Nazzy seemed to have had enough and body slams Oliwa to the ice. Oliwa had a look of disgust on his face.

Thornton and Nagy hit the ice, and Nagy is upset about a non-call. He hooks Joe going away and Joe come back and throws a glove punch that put Nagy down. Then Burke comes out and Joe threw one at him too. Numminen comes in to grab Joe, but Teppo certainly won't go. Away from the play, Girard and Langkow start to go and it was a pretty good tilt. Both throwing some good punches, Langkow rights and Girard switched up. They went for a good 45-50 seconds before they got to the boards and were broken up. Good scrap between two unlikely combatants. Other Penalties: Ladislav Nagy received a cross checking; Sean Burke a goalie leaving the crease; Joe Thornton a double roughing.
