Comments: They drop the gloves at center ice and tie up. Both guys get loose and Strudwick just misses with a right. Marshall comes back with a left of his own and both fighters exchange punches. They tie up again and wrestle to get loose. Strudwick throws a right as Marshall counters with a left. Strudwick throws a big right which Marshall ducks under. They tie up again and Strudwick lands a couple punches to the back of Marshall's head as he holds on. Marshall lands two lefts to the side of Strudwick's head and then loses his balance, allowing Strudwick to land a few rabbit punches before the linesmen come in to break things up.

Comments: The whistle blows and the two come together in front of the Penguins net. They drop the gloves and Nieminen throws a quick right before Murley throws him to the ice. Murley throws an elbow when they are down and the linesmen quickly dive in to break things up. Nieminen trys to grab Murley through the linesmen, but is quickly stopped. Other Penalties: Mark Recchi received a high sticking.

Comments: They do a little pushing and shoving before dropping the gloves near center ice. They try to grab on after a short square off and Strudwick almost slips and falls not getting a good enough of a grip on Boulerice. Boulerice skates over and tries to take advantage and throws a quick right. They get in tight and Strudwick starts throwing short rights as both guys try to get free. Boulerice gets Strudwick's helmet off and shoves a left hand into his face before throwing a body shot. Boulerice then gets Strudwick's jersey partly over his head and starts throwing rights as Strudwick responds with a left at the beginning of the flurry. Strudwick throws a right as Boulerice gets his elbow pad off as he switches hands and responds with two solid lefts. They get in close again and Strudwick throws a right before the linesmen come in.

Comments: Way behind the play, these two get tangled up and Clark gives Strudwick a shot that jars his helmet loose. As Strudwick comes after him, Clark catches him again with a high elbow or stick. Strudwick asks him to fight and they go, with Strudwick immediately getting the advantage. He lands a dozen rights to the back of Clark's head, although Clark's helmet was still on. Clark eventually rights himself, gets Strudwick's helmet mostly off and is able to hold him off while landing an odd punch or two in close. After another shot from Clark the two tied up and the linesmen separate them. Other Penalties: Clark received a roughing; Strudwick a holding.

Hordichuk throws a right and then leans back as Strudwick throws a couple of shots that fall short. Hordichuk cocks his right and misses with an uppercut as he pushes Strudwick against the boards in front of the benches. They wrestle around for a little before Strudwick throws a flurry of quick rights, with Hordichuk returning fire with a big left. Strudwick presses Hordichuk against the boards as Hordichuk turns around and throws a right, Strudwick a left. They exchange punches before Strudwick throws another flurry of rights. They spin around and struggle to get loose until the linesmen come in.

Comments: Hollweg takes a run at Naslund as Bertuzzi skates over and grabs ahold of Hollweg. They drop the gloves and wrestle around as Bertuzzi throws a couple of rights while Hollweg's head is down. Hollweg is able to rip Bertuzzi's helmet off before Bertuzzi gets free and throws a few rights as Hollweg turns around and falls to his knees while Bertuzzi is still ready to throw, forcing the linesmen to come in. Other Penalties: Bertuzzi received an instigator and misconduct; Hollweg an elbowing.

He grabs Hollweg's hair for a moment but quickly lets go before they grapple for a bit. Hollweg throws a left before Laperriere gets loose and misses with a big right. Hollweg misses with a left as Laperriere throws two rights to the back of Hollweg's head. Laperriere throws an overhand right before the two tie each other up and struggle to get loose. Laperriere attempts a right that is blocked by Hollweg before Laperriere gets loose and throws a few more rights. They then hold on until the linesmen come in.

Hollweg throws an early left as Eager connects with a left of his own. Both players struggle to get an arm free before Eagers throws four short, quick rights, two of them landing. Hollweg throws another left before they start wrestling around in tight. Hollweg lands an overhand right to Eager's helmet and then rips it off Eager's head. Hollweg gets Eager bent over and throws four lefts that cause Eager to fall to the ice. Hollweg skates away with a cut next to his right eye.

Comments: Rupp takes a run at Strudwick along the boards as Strudwick shoves him in retaliation. They skate up ice as Strudwick challenges Rupp before they drop the gloves and square off. Strudwick grabs ahold of Rupp's left arm, but Rupp is able to get free from Strudwick's grasp as they skate farther down ice. They finally grab on as Strudwick quickly rips Rupp's helmet off and lands two rabbit punches to the back of Rupp's head. Rupp then wraps his right arm around Strudwick and they fall to the ice.

Hollweg loses his balance and falls to the ice as Janssen throws two more rights while Hollweg is falling. Janssen is given an ice pack for his knuckles in the penalty box.

Gaustad is able to get his left hand up in Strudwick's face as he throws two overhand rights to the back of Strudwick's helmet. Strudwick loses his balance and goes down to a knee, but quickly rises to his feet. Gaustad lands two more rights to the back of Strudwick's head as he takes Strudwick's jersey and tries to pull it over his head. They wrestle around in tight for a bit before Strudwick lands two rights to the side of Gaustad's helmet. Gaustad attempts a locked-out right as Strudwick connects with 5-6 more rights to the back of Gaustad's helmet. Strudwick gets turned around as Gaustad throws three rights to the back of Strudwick's head before they fall to the ice.

Godard misses with a right before the two begin to go back and forth with hard rights, each landing a few. Orr throws two rights to the back of Godard's helmet as Godard connects with a straight right. Godard shakes off his elbow pad and the two start to exchange right hands again, each landing two. Orr misses with a right that Godard ducks under as the two wrestle around for a bit. Orr throws two rights and a jersey-jab before missing with a right. They exchange right hands once again before Godard lands a jersey-jab and Orr falls back, bringing Godard with him, ending the fight. Godard skates off with a bloody nose.

They both attempt a couple of overhand rights as Brashear misses with a long right. They wrestle around in tight as Orr lands some rabbit punches. Brashear lands a left to the side of Orr's helmet before they wrestle up against the boards. They exchange punches before Brashear throws a flurry of six left hands, with about four landing. Orr ducks away from the punches, sticking his head over the bench while Brashear has his left hand cocked. The linesmen then come in and end the fight. Other Penalties: Brashear received a roughing.

Comments: Minutes earlier Stevenson missed a hit on Petr Prucha, but still clipped his knee, forcing him to leave the game. It doesn't take Strudwick very long to find Stevenson and drop the gloves. They grapple quickly and Strudwick tries a couple of quick rights that come up short. Stevenson attempts an overhand right that doesn't connect. Strudwick throw his own right that misses. Stevenson goes back to the overhand right that Strudwick avoids. The momentum of Stevenson's miss sends him to the ice with Strudwick on top.

As Michal Rozsival and the linesmen jump in, Brashear hits him with three more gloved punches while he is on the ice. Other Penalties: Brashear received an instigator, holding, misconduct and game misconduct. Darius Kasparaitis did not receive a fighting major.

Erskine gets a right in while Orr is down, just before the linesmen quickly jump in. Other Penalties: Erskine received an instigator, roughing and misconduct.

Orr returns fire with two rights, one of them knocking McGrattan's helmet off. The two go back and forth with rights once more before McGrattan pushes Orr into the glass and locks out his right arm. Orr throws two rights to the back of McGrattan's head just before McGrattan misses with two right crosses. McGrattan then connects with four straight rights while Orr tries to lean away from the shots, forcing the linesmen to intervene.

The two then throw a couple of wild overhand rights before they fall to the ice.

Strudwick gets LaCouture's helmet off while they wrestle around and proceeds to throw six straight lefts with LaCouture returning fire with one of his own. Strudwick then connects with seven unanswered lefts while LaCouture tries to duck away from the punches. The linesmen quickly intervene and the fight is over.
