Comments: Webb checks Ray once, then again even harder. Ray gets up and just drops the gloves and starts chucking punches at a ducking Webb. Webb mysteriously got a fighting major for receiving. Other Penalties: Webb received a roughing; Ray an instigator and misconduct.

Comments: Good square off during a scrum, Cairns attempts a few, but can't reach. With the same hand that's holding Boulton's jersey, Cairns throws a few rabbit punches. Then Boulton unloads with a right, didn't think it connect, and slips off balance. Boulton didn't look like he made a very good attempt to get up. Boulton's bleeding again, probably reopened the cut from before. Other Penalties: Alexei Yashin received a roughing; Jay McKee a double roughing.

Comments: Schultz and Ray bump, then drop em. They jostle for position, then Schultz pulls back and grazes Ray with an uppercut, then tags Ray with a solid right to the cheek. Another punch grazes/misses Ray's temple. Ray then throws and misses two rights pushing Shultz to his knees, then popped him with an uppercut that was hard to tell if it landed. Other Penalties: Schultz received an instigator and misconduct.

Comments: Lots of grappling along the bench/board area. Wiemer throws a big right that just hits helmet. About 4 more rights from Wiemer, a couple connect. Boulton is a bit off balance and couldn't get upright. The linesmen came in to stop it. Other Penalties: Wiemer received a slashing; Boulton a game misconduct.

Comments: Cairns threw 5 or 6 and the Fridge threw 2. Nothing really landed. Fridge then scored the takedown as Cairns was trying to get of Fedoruk's helmet.

Comments: Off the faceoff they grab on and have a series of toe-to-toe exchanges. Lessard with the lefts, Wiemer with the rights. Wiemer lands an early one that cuts Lessard on the cheek. Then Lessard takes control and lands a couple of more lefts.

Comments: There was a scuffle among players at the boards and away from that, Lessard and Cairns have a go. Cairns knocked him down with a right and waited for him to get up. Then both start landing haymakers at will. Cairns loses his balance, regains himself and continues trading punches with Lessard until they tire and the linesmen come in.

Comments: Good heavyweight battle here. A hit by Worrell, an invite by Cairns and they shed the gloves and pads. Good, fair squareoff. They trade shots and Worrell's look like they might be a little better. Cairns slips, almost falls, regains his balance and they start throwing again. Now Cairns is throwing the good shots. There's open swinging and both guys are landing some good ones, although the haymakers all seem to miss (barely). Worrell gets a couple of good ones at the end (almost landed a great uppercut). Cairns slips again, goes to a knee and it's over. Good, open, even fight between two huge players.

Comments: Starts off with Roenick checking Hamrlik in the corner. Hamrlik didn't like it, they come together by the Islanders' bench and chat some more. Hamrlik drops them and throws one. Roenick gets his gloves off and starts to fire. He throws 4 or 5 and gets Hamrlik's jersey up, which was not tied down. They spin around and fall to the ice. Other Penalties: Hamrlik received a game misconduct.

Comments: Webb is looking to spark his team and picks a fight with Low off the face-off. Webb brags, gets a punch in and then Low gets going and unloads on him.

Comments: Early in the first period these two decide to give it a go behind the play. Nice fair square off they, lunge in and grab a hold of each other. Cairns lands a couple of grazers, then Berube lands a clean, straight-right to the chin of Cairns that didn't effect him at all. Cairns then uses his reach and "jerseys him" with the left. Berube's trying, but coming up short. The jersey comes over Berube's head and Cairns is ready to take over, throwing a couple of grazing rights with Berube twisted and bent over, but then the linesman comes in and its over. Cairns looks pissed off.

Comments: Weimer gives Staios a hard hit in the corner. Smith immediatly makes a bee-line for Weimer and they drop the gloves. A lot of wrestling and noogies, as they were in real tight. More wrestling, and the linesmen come in to break it up. Other Penalties: Smith received an instigator and misconduct.

Comments: Square off at Islanders blue-line. You can hear the anticipation in the crowd. The fight doesn't live up to expectations though. Cairns comes in first, and Laraque gets the helmet off and lands 3 lefts to the back and side of Cairns' head. Cairns goes to the ice off balance with Laraque on top.

Comments: Webb runs Staios and off come the gloves. Webb lands a few rights while having Staios' right tied up pretty good. Staios throws a wild right which comes up with air. Staios goes down with Webb on top. Other Penalties: Webb received a roughing.

Comments: Along the boards they grab hold. Actually, that's about all you need to know, as this one never got going. Wiemer got in some quick shots, one left and a couple of rights (including some body shots). Nothing seemed to do any damage and it was mainly grappling the whole time.

Comments: Cairns looking for something, bumps a Bolt. Dingman is on the ice and goes right after Cairns. They grapple for position and Cairns is controlling the fight and throwing the only real punches. Dingman tries to answer, but comes up short. Cairns then lands a nice right hand that makes Dingman go to a knee. Other Penalties: Cairns received an unsportsmanlike conduct.

Comments: Keefe is in the crease, Snow makes a save a little out of the crease. A push by Roman Hamrlik and Keefe crosschecks Hamrlik in return. Snow doesn't like what he sees and goes after Keefe. Everyone comes rushing in, but with the crew out there, the most likely guy to go is still Snow. Snow can't get the blocker off right away, so he just starts chucking rights with it on, looking like he's landing most. Linesmen are trying to break it up, but for a bit, Snow can easily punch over him. Evgeny Konstantinov makes his way down the ice, but doesn't get involved. Other Penalties: Roman Hamrlik received a roughing; Evgeny Konstantinov a leaving the crease penalty; Keefe a double roughing; Snow an attempt to injure match penalty. Sheldon Keefe did not receive a fighting major.

Comments: Cairns comes out in the Isles zone, where Shelley is lined up and moves to Shelley's wing. You can see/sense this a mile away. They drop the gloves have a nice square-off, Jody Shelley moves in first, grabs Cairns with the left and then Cairns grabs on. They now have their right hands cocked back, but start off with the jersey-lefts. Cairns then starts to throw right hands and Shelley answers back, but Cairns lands a clean shot to Shelley's face. They offer 1-2 more rights, Shelley stops punching, is bent over, the refs move in and you can see that Jody Shelley is pissed off. He is bloodied and goes straight to the lockerroom for repairs.

Comments: They are locked up and throwing/spinning with rights, Grand-Pierre lands a few to the face, Wiemer answers back with a right of his own. Then they're just tied up. Wiemer looks to be slightly cut on his nose.

Comments: Webb drills Hoglund with a clean hit after Hoglund was admiring a dump in. Hoglund goes down and Domi goes to challenge Webb. In comes Godard and they throw down. Domi lands a right when they first drop them, then they tie up and Domi tries to get him spinning. He comes underneath and lands a good uppercut, then Godard pulls him in and lands two decent shots to Domi. Domi gets off one more uppercut that grazes Godard, and Godard possibly landed one or two more in close, with Domi also getting one more off. Then the linesman come in.

Comments: This one starts right off the draw as they shed the leather. There was a looong squareoff, too bad the fight didn't live up to the hype. Scatch starts off by firing 3-4 rights, nothing solidly connecting, but causes Corson to lose his balance. As Shayne gets up he tosses about 5 rights of his own, maybe one connecting. They then begin to grapple for position and Corson gets Scatch turned around. Corson throws a few more, kinda just forcing Scatchard to the ice, not a knockdown or anything near it.

Comments: Starts at a scrum in front of the Chicago net. Webb starts strong with two quick rights, maybe one landing solidly. Odelein responds with a right that misses and then wrestles Webb down behind net.

Comments: Godard throws a check in the Panther's corner. Charging call. Mediocre delayed penalty going on. Panthers bring the puck up the ice. Webb throws a check too. No-no in this game. Another penalty. Isles touch the puck, whistle blown, players start coming together. Andreas Lilja grabs onto Eric Godard and Godard sheds the gloves. A few punches from Godard connect ok, but Lilja is not shaken and responds with a few of his own. Godard is trying to throw and falls to a knee. He gets up and cracks Lilja with a right sending him towards the ice. Lilja gets up promptly, but the linesmen have already rushed in. Other Penalties: Steve Webb received an interference; Godard a charging.

Comments: Starts in center ice. Godard is looking for all opportunities. They shed the gloves and Dingman gets in a couple of quickies. Now Godard's turn, he unleashes some rights. They're grappling and each throwing a couple. Godard almost slips, regains his balance and throws a couple of more, connecting with them. More grappling and Dingman just wants it to end, hugging away. Dingman pulls Godard on top of him.

Comments: Good square off and Matt opens with a right, Cairns seemed to have his right arm hung up in his jersey and elbow pad. Once he freed his arm both continued throwing hard rights. Matt left himself open and Cairns drops him with a solid left to the face.

Comments: Worrell is using his height advantage as Godard is pushing him along the glass, Worrell is throwing a couple of nice right hands and Godard is throwing left (Godard's hand is tied up in his jersey). Worrell lands about 3-4 good shots and Godard answers with 1-2, while trying to switch hands.

Comments: PJ and Godard are going at it toe-to-toe along the benches, excellent bout with both guys swinging and switching hands. Some landing, some missing. Each guy lands a few in an entertaining one. Godard, up against the boards, loses his balance.

Comments: Late in the third Stock and Cairns are poking at each other in front of Isles' net, Brown comes in and off come the gloves. They lock out each other's lefts and start with rights. Cairns lands a couple early and Brown hangs in there, and throws a couple decent uppercuts. Cairns then takes over and starts to land a couple of heavier punches. Cairns lands the last couple of rights and Brown is now bent over. Linesmen come in to end it. Brown leaves the ice dripping a little blood.

Comments: Some talking and these two drop the gloves and grab on. McKenna throws two rights. First one hits shoulder, the second hits nothing. Cairns, holding on to McKenna's jersey with his left hand, gives him some quick left-handed jabs. They go to start swinging again and McKenna falls.

Comments: Along the boards, Cairns checks Brash. He turns around, they give a look and drop the gloves. They take their time, shed the pads, pull up the sleeves, and squareoff. They grab on, Brash pulling in, Cairns pulling away. A punch by Cairns, and then Cairns gets Brash's jersey up over his head. He throws two more, before the linesmen rush in (because of the jersey).

Comments: Right after the Cairns-Brash fight, they line up against each other. The puck drops, and do the gloves on these two. Pretty open fight. At first Godard tried to get Fedoruk's helmet off, but after some trouble, just started swinging. Godard easily landed more punches in this slug-out, and the better ones. Fedoruk looked pretty beaten up with a cut on his eye. Still a good show.

Comments: Rupp and Asham drop em and grapple for position after a rather long squareoff. Rupp lands a couple. Asham comes back with a few lefts after he changes position. Rupp switches hands and lands a couple more. Now Asham gets Rupp turned around and pops him with some real nice shots against the bench. Rupp skates away a little bloody and has to go off for repairs.

Comments: These two drop em after Scatchard is slammed into the crossbar. Wiemer connects with a couple and drops Cowan with a great punch. TKO! Cowan is out on the ground and has trouble getting up. After he gets to his feet, he drops again. Odgers helps him off the ice.

Comments: Along the boards around the Isles blueline the two are chatting. The gloves come off and Wiemer lands an initial few. Pushor then returns fire landing a few of his own. They start to grapple a bit and go back and forth with rights. Wiemer appeared to land more. Pushor fell after a Wiemer punch, no tko, just a knockdown, even just a loss of balance.

Comments: Asham starts off throwing those short jersey-grabbing-hand lefts, more annoying than doing any damage. They each throw a couple of bigger punches, looks like Asham lands a decent one. Rhett then takes over and starts throwing with good follow through. Asham got in one more decent right when Rhett missed on one of his rights, and from there it was all Rhett. Asham was ducking to the side as though he just wanted to stop. Nothing Warrener threw at Arron was devasting, but he got in a bunch of rights to the side of the head.

Comments: Nice long squareoff near the benches. They finally get a hold of each other and start throwing some good punches. Godard starts to land a few more and has Roy bent sideways and lands a couple. Roy answers and Godard throws a left and Roy answers with his own again as the linesmen come in. Good, very energetic fight. After the linesmen stepped in Roy throws a punch at Godard and then pushes away one of the linseman, he gets tossed. Other Penalties: Roy received a game misconduct.

Comments: Both players shed their gloves and helmets at center ice. Nice squareoff, then Hartnell lunges in with a wild right. Asham gets out of position while ducking Hartnell's right. Hartnell throws a two or three more rights, with maybe one landing. Asham throws a couple of rights that don't land. Hartnell misses with another right. Asham gets Hartnell's jersey over his head and throws an uppercut before the refs rush in. Couldn't tell if the uppercut landed. Entertaining fight, but not a lot landed.

Comments: Wiemer leveled Palffy, was called for interference, and the Kings score on the power-play resulting from it. On the faceoff after that goal, the two drop the gloves. Wiemer gets position, wraps his left hand around Brennan's right arm locking him out. Wiemer fires and connects on a couple of short rights. Brennan breaks loose and lands a few rights of his own. During the exchange Wiemer lands a powerful right. Both players fall to the ice with Brennan firing after landing on top. While skating away Brennan has some blood drops on his jersey.

Comments: These two squareoff after the game becomes chippy. Scatchard starts firing away. Ian is caught in an awkward position and falls to the ice with Scatchard on top of him.

Comments: Camera's late, they're in the corner (to Steve Shield's left). Brown's got Wiemer tied up and getting in his shots. Takes Wiemer a bit and he gets a punch off, then they're tangled, Wiemer's jersey comes up and goes down while he's starting to throw his own, landing them. Wiemer then gets loose and chucks a couple of more putting Brown down. Brown early, Wiemer late. Brown's hunched over going to the box (probably exhausted).

Comments: The two are talking before the faceoff and they drop em once the puck is dropped. They are over near the Isles' bench and Matt is jawing at them while Asham is swinging. A few punches that don't connect, then Barnaby decides to try to throw a few. When he opens up, Asham does the same and starts to hit him pretty good. They exchange with Asham definitely doing better, but nothing devestating. They go down with Asham on top.

Comments: Domi runs Jason Blake into the boards and Wiemer comes over to chat. They decide to drop and and grab on. Weimer lands a few nothing shots. Domi may have landed one weak one also and then tries to jersey Weimer while they grapple some more.

Comments: Marshall's was pretty busy early in this one. First he knocked Kenny Jonsson out with a big hit and later took two minutes for dropping them with Cairns, who wouldn't oblige. Now Webb wants payback for the hit on Jonsson and hooks Marshall as they skate behind the play. The mitts come off and they trade wild bombs for about 10 or 15 seconds. Marshall got an early start landing a couple of big rights. Webb fires some lefty haymakers, landing about two or three out of five. Now Webb is off-balance from throwing bombs. Marshall takes advantage and unleashes a few lefts of his own. Webb falls and Marshall quickly after. Webb skates away with a little blood on his face.

Comments: The two drop their gloves and squareoff. Lessard is ducking real low and as the two come in to each other he has an upward motion that wobbles Godard a bit. Godard quickly regains his balance and these two open up and start chucking them hard! Godard with the rights, Lessard with the lefts. Nice and even at this point. They spin a bit, still throwing and this one's already a good one. Lessard now starts getting in a few unanswered shots and it's starting to look like that could be it when Godard returns fire with some really powerful shots - one makes Lessard's knees half-buckle, but he didn't go down on that one or the next shot which was almost as hard. It's looking like this could be the end and the linesmen come in fast. Nice showing by both guys, great fight.
