Oct 11, 2001 1pd 02:55 Georges Laraque COL Scott Parker
They square off for awhile and it looks like the refs may step in, but Parker grabs on and starts with a right, Laraque responds with a left and Parker throws a lunging right in which his momentum makes him fall forward and they both lose their balance. They quickly return to their skates and Parker is trying to get his right free. When he does, he starts to throw some rights with some landing pretty well and Laraque throws a few lefts of his own, but none look like they connected. After wrestling a little more and both throw a few more punches, but they are to close in to do anything so the refs break it up.

Nov 13, 2001 1pd 09:35 Mike Comrie @PHO Daniel Briere
Fight spawned from the last time these two teams played when Briere gave Comrie a cheap shot. Decent scrap that began with dropping of the gloves and shedding of the helmets. Both Comrie and Briere landed their share of punches, (Comrie with 2 real nice shots that hit Briere square on the side of the head). Briere came back with some nice punches also after those two solid ones he took to the head. Briere started to get off balance and threw two crazy lefts (Luckily for Comrie they didn't land, he was off balance also he probably would have fell over) and Briere pretty much lost his footing and Comrie fell on top of him.

Scrum in front of the Oilers net. Parker and Laraque get by themselves and start talking. A linesman comes in and asks them if they are going to go. Parker shakes the glove and Laraque agrees. The linesman backs off and the drop the gloves. Mostly wrestling. Few short punches to the side of the head by each man. After a bit, the linesman come in. Off the draw, Sawyer challenges Laraque and away they go. Laraque is ragdolling Sawyer with one arm, looking to score shots with the left. Sawyer was ducking his head, and he had Georges' left tied up pretty good. Laraque was able to get about 3 shots off, landing to the back of the head. Sawyer then goes down, gets back up, meets a Laraque left and goes back down again.

As Hartnell is bent over, Moreau lands a right to his back. As Hartnell attempts to right himself, Moreau fires a wild right which misses and he slips to his knees. Hartnell lands a weak punch to the back and follows with a solid punch to the back of Moreau's helmet. Moreau is in a bad position now and the zebras come in. Hartnell lands another weak shot to Moreau's back.

With his team down 1-0, the Grim Reaper tries to wake them up by dropping the gloves with Big Georges. Laraque gets the helmet off, and connects with a flurry of about 6-7 lefts. Grimson tries to answer with some rights, he throws two, none really connected. Laraque connects with another couple of shots and a left that knocked Grimson down. As he's getting back up, the linesmen decide to break it up, and Grim throws two more as the refs break up this scrap, the only punches Grimson threw that landed decently. Other Penalties: Grimson received a misconduct.

Dec 16, 2001 1pd 06:53 Sean Brown @PHI Todd Fedoruk
Nice fair square off. Both guys have rights cocked and ready to throw. Both go for the grab and Fedoruk lets loose a heavy right that glances off the top of Brown's helmet. Brown is unphased and responds with two piston rights that do no damage. Fridge goes to the left and misses. Brown is off balance and throws a weak right as Fedoruk misses with another left jab. Fedoruk grabs on with the left now and switches to the right. Brown's head is down and he's vulnerable. Fedoruk's right finds Browns head this time and a follow up right catches Browns shoulder as he is still bent over. Another right to the shoulder by Todd. Sean has recovered now and a Fedoruk right appears to nail him in the left cheek. He responds with somewhat of a karate chop to the neck. A little grabbing now and Brown decides to pull Fedoruk's helmet off. Blood is showing on Fedoruk's left knuckles. Fedoruk's right is free. A right from Jupiter catches Brown in the back of the head ejecting his helmet. Another wild right misses Brown. More dancing as the guys try to readjust. Brown's forehead is bleeding heavily it appears. In close now Brown lands a wicked right cross and just misses an uppercut while Fedoruk's head was down. That was close! Brown's face is a mess as he is wearing the crimson mask! Some hugging. They appear tired and it's all over folks. Not sure where the cut came from, may have been as the helmet was knocked off as it was pushed forward into his head from behind.

Dec 20, 2001 3pd 11:15 Marty Reasoner @NJD Andreas Salomonsson
There was a big scrum in front of the Oilers net after Salo covered up the puck. Stevens and Brown exchanged face-washes, Laraque was on the ice but didn't find a willing partner (with Jimmy Mac on the bench, Georges didn't look too interested). Salomonsson comes in and goes right to Reasoner, who saw him coming. These two were involved in a battle along the boards about 15 seconds before this scrum. Anyways, Reasoner sees Salomonsson coming, Salomonsson throws a punch, Reasoner drops his gloves and starts firing...Salomonsson's gloves are still on. Other Penalties: Reasoner received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct; Salomonsson a roughing minor. Andreas Salomonsson did not receive a fighting major.

Dec 21, 2001 1pd 03:04 Georges Laraque @CHI Aaron Downey
After Downey hits Anson Carter, Big Georges goes directly after Aaron and off come the gloves. Laraque tries to get the helmet off of Downey, who's trying to get a good grip on Laraque's left arm. Laraque tries to rip it off his head, but that doesn't work, so he tries to throw a punch, but it misses. Laraque finally gets the helmet off of Downey's head and rains down left after left after left. No contest here as Georges is dominating at this point of the fight. He must've got off about 8-10 lefts at this point. The linesmen look like they are gonna break it up, as one grabs Georges, but the other linesmen doesn't grab Downey, so Downey is able to get off two shots before the other linesman can grab him.

Dec 21, 2001 1pd 16:24 Georges Laraque @CHI Bob Probert
This was Laraque's second fight of the game (and first period). Good long square-off between the two heavyweights. Both guys don't want to be the first to grab on, as the first one who grabs likely will be the first one hit. Finally, Probie gets a hold of Georges and loses his balance. Laraque is able to land a few short lefts, maybe 3 or 4, but they are in too tight so none of the punches do any damage. Probie tries to answer with lefts, but they hit Laraque's back. Probie tries to come over the top with rights, but they hit air. Laraque answers with a left which misses, another left which may have connected, and then some more hugging. The linesmen step in to break up this scrap.

Dec 28, 2001 2pd 03:06 Georges Laraque MIN Matt Johnson
This scrap was brewing since the 1st period, when Johnson was pushing and shoving with Scott Ferguson, and it goes down in the 2nd. As the puck is dumped down into the Oilers' zone, Laraque skates after it. Johnson says something to Georges that made him turn around and off come the gloves. They try to grab onto each other, but both guys lose their grips. They square off, and both guys are kinda chuckling (I guess because they both lost their grips on each other at the same time). This time, they grab a hold of each other and Johnson is off-balance. Laraque gets the helmet off, while Johnson is still trying to get his footing. Big Georges connects with two lefts and Johnson slips and goes down.

Off the faceoff, the two heavyweights drop the gloves. McKenzie gets the jump, as he gets off a flurry of 6-7 lefts, all of which either hit Laraque's shoulderpads, or air. McKenzie goes down to a knee, and gets back up. Laraque then gets the helmet off of McKenzie and connects with 4-5 lefts to the back of Jimmy Mac's head. Both guys go down and the linesmen step in.

Berube gets two minutes for running over Tommy Salo. As soon as he gets out of the box, on his next shift, he is challenged by Brown, but doesn't accept. Laraque goes right up to Berube and off came the gloves. Berube immediately went into a defensive posture, ducking his head and holding on. Laraque throws 3 or 4 shots to the back of the head, and Berube goes down. Georges lets Berube get back up, and Laraque throws two uppercuts, which miss, and two straight left hands to the side of Berube's head, and Berube goes down again.

Jan 14, 2002 2pd 05:23 Sean Brown @CHI Aaron Downey
During the previous play, Downey was mixing it up with Oiler captain Jason Smith after the whistle blew. So off the ensuing faceoff, Downey and Brown square off. Downey gets going first, unleashing some right hand bombs, that seemed to connect with either the top or the side of Brown's head. Brown countered with some rights of his own, which also connected pretty good. They jockey for position, and Downey then gets going with the left hand. Brown is off-balance and takes a few punches because of it. Brown tries to answer with lefts of his own, but they were weak. Downey is able to get Brown's jersey over his head at this point, and the linesmen step in. Brown goes down with both linesmen in between the two, and Downey throws two more right hand bombs.

The puck is touched up for icing in the Penguins zone and Green comes charging in and barely misses Kasparitis with a hit. Moran took exception and off came the gloves. Green had Moran in a vulnerable position, with his head ducked down, and proceeded to throw a flurry of around 5 rights to the back of the head. Moran doesn't really get going, as they jockey for position, and they trade rights, 2 or 3 each, Green throws an uppercut, not sure if it lands. The linesmen come in to break this one up. Other Penalties: Green received a closing hand on puck penalty.

Scrum ensues along the boards after an offsides call. Grier and Konowalchuk are pushing and shoving and drop the gloves and grab each other, but too many people were in between these two (linesmen, teammates). Away from this scrum is Staios and Sacco and their gloves are off. Sacco throws a right, which doesn't connect. Staios is fighting to get his right free. A ref comes in and tells them something, and Staios seems to ask permission from the ref to continue the fight. The ref nods and they get back to fighting again. Staios gets his right arm out of his jersey, and throws a wild right, which misses. Sacco is trying to throw rights, but he is tied up pretty good. 2 more wild rights from Staios which miss. Staios then connects with a couple of right jabs, Sacco connects with 2 short left handed jabs immediately after Staios got his shots in. Mar 13, 2002 3pd 02:45 Scott Ferguson @DET Sean Avery
Started as a battle for the puck along the boards behind the Oilers' net. Ferguson was all over Avery. Avery turned to face Ferguson and they looked ready to go. But they didn't just yet. They skated around the net and Avery dropped his gloves and started first. Ferguson dropped his right away and the fight was on. Avery started with some good rights, maybe 5, but it was hard to see if they landed or not because the linesman got in the way of the camera. Ferguson tried to tie up the right, but that wasn't working, so he decided to throw some left hand shots. The first two landed rather stiff, as they made Avery stop punching and duck his head. Ferguson followed those two punches up with about 4 more lefts but they didn't land too well. Avery came back with some more rights that didn't seem to connect, then Avery pulled off a pretty good move, ducking under Ferguson's left arm and coming out the other side, leaving the back of Ferguson's head wide open. Avery couldn't capitalize on this as Ferguson went down.
