Shanahan then gets the right going and throws about four good rights, two to the side of the head and two to the back of the head, getting Mayers off-balance and sending him to the ice. Other Penalties: Shanahan received a misconduct.

Edmonton scores and Mayers and Moreau drop the gloves off the ensuing faceoff. They grab on to each other and Mayers throws a right that Moreau ducks under. Moreau slips to the ice while ducking and brings Mayers with him. The linesmen come in and that's it.

Mayers loses his elbow pad as he switches hands and throws four rights. Chimera comes back with a right of his own and Mayers counters. Mayer then lands an overhand right that knocks both players off-balance and to the ice.

The two glance at each other and quickly drop the gloves at the blueline. They get in tight as Mayers throws a right that misses. Barnaby comes back with a short left as Mayers returns fire with a right to the back of the head that knocks Barnaby's helmet off. They struggle to get loose for a little bit until Mayers throws a right that knocks Barnaby off-balance. Barnaby is able to stay on his feet and takes another right from Mayers. Mayers tries to get his elbow pad off as Barnaby tears off Mayers' helmet. Mayers then lands two overhand lefts as Barnaby is trying to get loose. They tie each other up as Barnaby tells the linesmen not to interfere just yet, throwing a short right. Mayers gets his right hand loose and lands two overhand rights. Barnaby throws a left that hits Mayers' shoulder. They tie up again, then Mayers get loose and throws a right that knocks Barnaby off-balance and sends him to the ice. Mayers throws another right as they are down.

Right off of the opening faceoff, Mayers drops his gloves and goes right after Barnaby. Barnaby bends over and doesn't drop his gloves until Mayers lets go of him. Barnaby then sheds his gloves and they square off, each removing their elbow pads. Mayers attempts two left-right combinations as Barnaby moves away. Mayers does a couple of fakes until Barnaby comes in as Mayers throws a big left. They tie up and strugggle to get loose as Mayers throws a few overhand rights to the back of Barnaby's head. They tie up again until Barnaby throws a left. Mayers comes back with a right and tries to rip Barnaby's helmet off before they lose their balance and fall to the ice. Other Penalties: Mayers received an instigator and misconduct.

Beauchemin nails Doug Weight with an open ice hit, popping his helmet off. Weight collects himself and gives Joffrey Lupul a shot in retaliation for the hit before Beauchemin cross-checks Weight in the back. Mayers comes over and challenges Beauchemin and they drop the gloves and square off. They grab on and Mayers throws a quick right with Beauchemin throwing 5-6 rapid short lefts that knock Mayers' helmet off. Beauchemin throws a couple of more lefts while Mayers is bent over before they fall to the ice.

They come together along the boards and drop the gloves after a little pushing and shoving. They wrestle around before Mayers loses his balance and falls to the ice with Erskine throwing a big right while Mayers is falling. Erskine gets in another right before the linesmen come diving in.

Semenov lands two rabbit punches and misses with another as Mayers struggles to get free. Mayers then loses his balance and falls to the ice, pulling Semenov down with him.

Right off of the faceoff the two drop the gloves with Marshall throwing a quick right. They both struggle to get loose until Mayers throws two lefts that miss as Marshall comes back with a left that hits the back of Mayers' helmet. Mayers switches hands and throws a short left as Marshall comes over the top with a right that misses before wrestling Mayers down to his knees. Mayers returns to his feet and throws a right as Marshall responds with three lefts. Mayers gets turned around and loses his balance before Marshall pushes him to the ice.

Mayers nails Sergei Fedorov with a hard open-ice hit at center ice. Westcott immediately skates over and challenges Mayers and they drop the gloves and tie up. Westcott throws two short lefts and Mayers misses over the top with a right. Westcott throws another short right, allowing Mayers to throw a flurry of three rights that send Westcott to the ice and the linesmen rushing in. Westcott received an extra minor penalty for instigating with a visor on and a game misconduct for having his jersey not tied down. Other Penalties: Westcott received an instigator, unsportsmanlike conduct, misconduct and game misconduct.

Chimera throws a body shot just before Mayers connects with a quick uppercut. Mayers throws a right to the back of Chimera's head and Chimera goes down to a knee. Chimera lands a short right and the two grapple for a short while. Mayers gets loose and then throws two rights before they fall to the ice.
