good to see the isles and rangers in the playoffs.....or at least thier annoucers...lol

Posted by SABREHATRED on April 20, 2010 at 07:59 AM

Fight was as lame as the buffalo sabre hall of fame, or should I say SHAME! HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA the sabres suck so bad, and their boneheaded fans are standing outside that stupid arena in buffalo and catching pneumonia and spreading that loser virus by procreating that night in their stalls!!!!!

Posted by fernben8 on April 18, 2010 at 12:46 PM

Said it before and will say it again...Montreal neeeds an enforcer. There's something wrong when their smaller skilled players have been fending for themselves and being pushed, slapped around and end up loosing them in the box for nothing. Gave the edge to Poti. Late note: Hattryck- good point..well taken. Just my frustration since Laraque was let go..

Great job VS. show a replay of nothing as a fight is going on!!! Winner refs looser VS producer.

Posted by Shut up on April 18, 2010 at 09:56 AM

Call a draw, Gomez landed the straighter more solid 2 punches Poti landed more rabbit punches to the back of the head.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on April 17, 2010 at 09:58 PM

damn. the linesmen laid them both out. HA. Hate the Canadiens but love the American. Gotta give it a draw

Posted by metz87 on April 17, 2010 at 10:17 PM

Missed most of the fight bceuase they were going to a reply when it started. A ok fight that I have to give a draw. get those refs out of there, pull both players to the ice, crazy! Would have loved to see Ove go with someone. TKO by the ref.

Posted by bcboy37 on April 19, 2010 at 02:01 AM

da da da da da and the winner is,,,,, no one what is with the refs lately you may as well give the sticks to them because they want to decide the game on a side note the investigation report on burrows and auger came out and it shows bettman and ron maclean are sleeping together!

Posted by The Peach on April 18, 2010 at 11:34 PM

gomer looks kinda like mike ribeiro, about two inches shorter. i really wouldn't call this a fight, more like a disagreement with some shirt pulling and a couple of coffee cans to the back of the noggin

Posted by bruins rule on April 18, 2010 at 01:03 PM

poti gets the win in this fight.

Posted by C. Alter on May 20, 2010 at 10:04 PM

BGL belongs to another era, fans, as does Donald Brashear. Unfortunately, Quebecois still love to see their fights instead of the new hockey which emphasizes speed and skill. Unfortunately, Montreal believes that a game lasts only 40 minutes, so they get tired and frustrated (see Price's two misconduct penalties in Game 4). Gomez is getting frustrated For the Ovechkin haters: do you really think that a fight with him would last very long? Poti gets a narrow win; Gomez (and the rest of the Montreal team) get knocked out for frustration, stupidity, and exhaustion. Too bad that Habs won the series, though.

Posted by crosscheck52 on April 19, 2010 at 07:41 PM

hahahahaha Do you think Montreal could have had a bigger line out there? I'm surprised Ovechkin and Gionta didn't get into it. That would have been a heavyweight battle.

Posted by pepsigenerate on April 20, 2010 at 04:37 PM

winner POTI, Montreal is history first round of the 2010 playoffs, see it already,,,So long french frogs.,,,,you,s got bad luck when you,s got rid of the mighty GEORGE LARAQUE....Suckers.

Posted by Velds on April 19, 2010 at 01:26 PM

Wanna know why the ref stepped in? Cause Gomez was yelling "stop stop stop, step in step in"!!

Posted by Frankie jr on April 20, 2010 at 12:00 PM

Poti won the fight.

Posted by staceyb on April 20, 2010 at 03:57 PM

Hit him with your wallet, Scotty!

Posted by hal29 on April 20, 2010 at 12:33 AM

watched the game, seen four other videos and other angles. gomez never landed a punch and just got ragged dolled. can't give it to gomez. win poti for throwing and landing the only punches....wow hab fans are real bitter on this fight. gomez never landed or threw two punches...fan of neither team

Posted by Hattryck on April 18, 2010 at 10:04 AM

Gomez gets the edge with the sucker punch. Fern- neither of these teams has an enforcer......

Posted by sh_varsity19 on April 18, 2010 at 12:39 PM

Poti gets the win in this tilt, although he did fight a female in gomez so i wont be giving him props anytime soon.

Posted by gotime26 on April 19, 2010 at 04:35 PM

good to see gomez drop the gloves.. didnt think he would have it in him but this is playoff hockeey. size advantage goes to poti so that may have been the fight winner

Posted by Jordybats99 on April 29, 2016 at 03:06 PM

Win Poti.

Posted by Detroit_Caps on April 18, 2010 at 01:51 PM

Poti in a fight??? Poiti wins a fight?? Huh? It wasn't prertty but Token got his ass kicked. . . Token or Sara Palin.. . .hmm both are good nicknames for Gomez

Posted by brashearisanape on April 18, 2010 at 02:23 PM

Look at the ref shield OVACHICKEN from everyone at the start

Posted by jschroe14 on April 18, 2010 at 10:26 AM

Poti...not even close. Gomez likes boxing because he likes men...Habs will be out in 5.

Posted by U.P WingsFan454 on April 18, 2010 at 06:13 PM

Ok wats up with the replay as soon as the fight starts??? anyone? Thanks VS...I give it to the Ref lol

Posted by potinorris on April 18, 2010 at 06:06 PM

Poti won this one. Bonehead timing by Gomez, especially with the power play that came while he was in the box.

Posted by lynchmob450 on April 18, 2010 at 03:27 PM

Only idiot Habs fans could look at this and think the midget won the fight. P-U-S-S-Y!!

Posted by kprimeau25 on April 23, 2010 at 02:03 PM

Montreal has always been the franchise to cry foul when other teams try and bully them with physical play. They're unwillingness to have an enforcer has really hurt them since they last won the cup...of course they had Laraque and Brashear...bur as soon as Brashear became a good fighter the Habs traded him and Laraque hardly ever suited up towards the end.

Posted by graserk on April 18, 2010 at 07:40 PM

edge poti

Posted by RedneckCapsFan on April 18, 2010 at 01:55 PM

Gotta give it to Tom Poti on this fight, neither he nor Gomez had had a fight in several seasons and neither are really who you would look to for dropping gloves on either team. It was a decent fight to watch and Poti definitely landed some strong blows on Gomez once the sweater came up. You have to credit Gomez though, for trying to rough up Ovie a bit, though I don't know who in their right mind would fight Ovechkin. Final credit has to go to Poti for this one, as his name has been cursed much for his PK skills (or lack therein of) in the past season.

Posted by jakeshapiro on April 18, 2010 at 01:53 PM

Poti gets Gomez's sweater over his head and starts railing on him, and this is a huge momentum shift in the game. The Caps were down 4-1 in the game at one point, and in part because of this fight, they went on to win 6-5 in OT. It was a great tradeoff for the Caps--Poti, an average defenseman, goes off along with Gomez, one of Montreal's key centers, in the 3rd period of a playoff game.

Posted by brainumbc on April 17, 2010 at 11:31 PM

whiny ass habs fans

Posted by zellin on April 17, 2010 at 10:57 PM

This swung all the momentum in a playoff game. Scott Gomez is an absolute fool.

Weak and pointless.

Posted by bruiseyoureye on April 17, 2010 at 10:43 PM

the referees handed this game to the crapitals on a silver platter.........i was hoping someone would cave in that ovechicken fagg0Ts face in.....oh well maybe next game........ i cheer every game that they carry ovechicken off the ice on a stretcher.

Posted by shawn46 on April 18, 2010 at 10:22 AM

Whose grandma was directing the cameras??? They spent or time on the refs makes out session with Ovo... "Oh, hold me back... HOLD ME BACK!!... than the did non the action.... PLEASE.... "The Grate One" was going to go back to get involved in that about as much as he wanted to run into the stands and buy a hot dog.

Posted by bigpimpin28 on April 27, 2010 at 09:15 AM

@crosscheck52 Ovechkin is a bitch and would never have fought any one Gionta Would have lite his a$$ up

poti didnt land anything except those last couple of punches funny as hell.edge gomez

Posted by Odgersfan on April 19, 2010 at 12:23 AM

How can you give it to Poti? There was to little to see to give either the decision but Gomez appeared to be the aggressor. It's fun to see these scorers take a few pokes at one another but it would be a lot better if the cameras could follow the action. Loss goes to the camera man.

Posted by hammer2003 on April 19, 2010 at 01:55 PM

From the reviews sounds like most people missed the replay. Gomez landed more and better blows, Poti won the wrestling match and got some nuggies in. Win Gomez, and lol @ anyone who thought this was a momentum shift.

Posted by esolis on April 19, 2010 at 06:15 PM

What?! No one should be giving Poti the fight. Gomez had the only two clean punches: two rights, one that smacked Poti on the jaw. Rabbit punches to the top of the head doesn't equal out to much.

Posted by chad420 on April 18, 2010 at 04:48 PM

that was kinda funny...edge pottymouth

Posted by claire alexande on April 18, 2010 at 02:54 PM

Gomez loses his head for a second and thinks he's Alex Burrows and loses to Poti. How the hell do you lose to Poti? Damn shame nobody took out Ovechkin, though.

Posted by piney on April 24, 2010 at 12:05 PM

lousy camera work
