Bucchino was frustrated at the fact he gave up so many goals, and I guess he decided to take it out on Gallant, who was the BACKUP goalie for this game. He wanted Gallant to come over the bench and go for it. I think he got surprised when coach Rodgers pulled Chad Collins (former FireAntz goalie playing his first game as an Ice Bear) and put Gallant in. The fans all knew what was coming and I got my cell phone camera ready.
The next stoppage was due to an elbow from IceGators' Hamilton (flagrant) and that's when I started recording. You'll see he's being taken to the penalty box at the bottom the first few seconds of the recording.
There were only 1012 at the game due to a snowstorm in the region, and most fans stayed home, but this crowd got LOUD for this bout. Sorry if I got a "tad" excited, but how often do you get to see this happen?
A bit of irony to this is that Bucchino was the Ice Bears' EBUG last post-season for their SPHL championship run, replacing none other than Gallant, who was injured. Even though Bucchino didn't play as an EBUG, he was given a championship ring.
