George McPhee vs Timo Blomqvist

McPhee with the win. Love the fire he played with, love the fire he orchestrates the Caps with now. Not a big fan of him beating up on a Cap back in the day, but at least he's on our side now.

surprisingly good fight considering the combatants.. i thought GMGM would beat blomqvist to a bloody mess but timppa handled himself ok. if he had a bit more experience in fighting GMGM would have met a surprise..

i really couldnt tell how good McPhee was or Blornqvist wasn't due to the grainy old tape. i will say that i wish George was GM of Rangers. Always a team guy, who took on the tough guys who thought they would run him over( Mr. Tocchet for one), really good hockey sense on the ice and not a "goon or bully". He would've looked for those type of guys for the team and not the big contracts for aging names. give it to McPhee in what appears a close one.

THAT was a fight. Loved McPhee--little guy who was a goal scorer in college and became a tough guy (at 5'9" 170!) to stick around in the NHL. All heart. Win George.
