Wow mikebflorida are you that stupid? Simon finished it by hitting Hollweg to the face with his stick, one of the most cowardly things you can do. All because Simon is a crybaby who didn't like the hit Hollweg had on him. Simon is a huge goon who shouldn't even be playing the game if he's still going continue his cheap shot ways.

That's what you call a major bitch slapping.

Montoya, total coward. Dont come across the ice if you wont remove your mask.

Dipietro a bitch for the fight??? Lets look at what happened. Montoya comes skating down like a bat out of hell up to Dipietro. Dipietro drops his gloves and mask, but Montoya stands there like a deer in headlights till he decides to drop his gloves. BUT he keeps his mask on so he doen't get a boo boo. Dipietro finally gets him to drop the mask and fight. And so what if he hit him while he was down, that will teach Montoya to stay in the crease next time..... And by the way, maybe you guys should look at some fights posted here an see how many players get hit while down on the ice...... are they all bitches too????

DiPietro had to instruct Montoya on what to do, he then proceeded to beet him down with lefts and also threw punches when they were on the ice.

By the way, robtk14 you are just wrong. Simon recieved a concussion from Hollwegs boarding hit prior to the swinging stick. Hollweg was a ***** and lay on the ice for an hour when all he had a was a little cut. Simon has offensive prowess, he actually gets a substantial amount of points, unlike Orr who is only there to fight. Orr should be kicked out of the league and Simon, as long as he produces offensively should def stay.

Capsfloors Hollweg recieved a penalty on that play, as did Simon and montoya tried to through punches from the ice, DP just got the best of him. And don't talk about hitting players while their down and bring up Cloutier.

Montoya wanted to fight, if not he should not have skated down the ice. The refs only called Simon's hit intent to injure to have an excuse to take him out of the game since it was obvious that the entire game all of the rangers were going for revenge. Therefore, the refs took him out for the sake of the game since the disgraceful rangers were more interested in fighting then playing hockey.

Pretty even fight. Montoya took DiPietro down, but DiPietro was able to get back up and get on top. He threw a few more punches while on top...but the original fight was pretty even until they hit the ice.

Throwing punches on the ground is crappy style, but I always find it amusing that there was very little trash talk about Twist doing it, yet when someone that has never had a Fighting Major does it... he gets slammed on.

it should be a good rivalry this year.

Gee what a suprise, Chris Simon gets an attempt to injure game misconduct to start things off....DP is a coward for hitting Montoya while he is down....Guess the Icelanders and their fans are still reeling from the beating Cloutier put on Salo years ago!

I can't believe this isn't ranked higher. I was at this preseason game and the place was nuts. Montoya was visibly shaking. Great stuff. Clear win for the oft-injured DiPietro.

DP hits a man while he's down, and shock shock, Chris Simon went after Hollweg, again, with intent to injure. All that was missing was the fans throwing trash on the ice. Glad to see the Islanders want to continue being the same classy, classy organization they've been lately. On second thought, why am I expecting anything but trash to breed in Nassau county?

5minmajor22: You try punching someone (or something solid) with a full mask on- goalie helmet or a normal caged helmet-then get back to me. I think you'll know why DiPietro wanted him to take his helmet off.
