Brief but entertaining fight. bigmike53 is spot on-love it when non-fighters have a spirited, albeit it sloppy, scrap. McAvoy looked to get in one big right that gives him a slight edge.

Gordie Howe Hattie!

Posted by slapshotmcg on December 19, 2017 at 12:04 AM

Messy fight, and McAvoy seems to have landed a hard lucky shot that stunned Dubois. Having Dubois off balance and not really wanting to have to keep fighting, Charlie goes for a takedown. Not pretty but win McAvoy.

It's always a good thing when guys like these produce an entertaining scrap. McAvoy with the narrow win.

2 skilled non-fighting youngsters got their 1st nhl fight.say whatever you want but i love this kind of "in the heat of the moment" fights.dubois didnt like mcavoy checking him with his shoulder and gloves went off good fight by both..solid draw and 5

Looked like a draw to me ...... check was borderline

Posted by GoonVisor on December 19, 2017 at 10:37 AM

Good hit. Draw 4. Gordie Howe for the kid!

Posted by bbout2c on December 19, 2017 at 08:25 AM

draw all daylong , they each might have gotten one good one in! because a guy falls doesn't mean he loses.

Posted by Jesticle on December 19, 2017 at 01:36 AM

Draw. Love the "Bawstan Homahs".

Pretty even bout. It was a decent effort by both rookies.

Pierre-Luc Dubois

Posted by Pliny the Elder on December 21, 2017 at 09:04 PM

Ok...McAvoy won the bout but the Boston announcers suck so bad I gave the fight to Dubois.

Posted by tpr1960 on December 19, 2017 at 04:17 PM

Edwards still sucks man-c%ck. And Boston a-holes, your pathetic.

Posted by Dammit-Man on December 19, 2017 at 01:42 PM

"Do Boys" got his bell rung... and Only connected with helmet shots Wake up Haters "Do Boys" Lost...

Good clean hit by McAvoy, but Dubois took it on the jaw and responded. Nice fight between two rookies.

Posted by surfmaster69 on December 20, 2017 at 11:41 AM

looks like two fish out of water flopping around out of their element. These are NOT fighters but hats off, literally to Charlie for the Gordie Howe.

Posted by scairns on December 20, 2017 at 12:52 PM

Can we have anyone fight Jack Edwards? You'd have thought Dubois was lying dead on the ice. Over and under? WTF?

Posted by Buzman on December 19, 2017 at 03:50 PM

I agree with Bigmike53 and Lucic17. Suprised me they settled it right then and there. A Gordie Howe hat trick nice!

Gordie Howe

Posted by nait on December 19, 2017 at 11:03 AM

For two rookies in their first NHL fights not bad

Posted by Great Murray on December 19, 2017 at 09:03 AM

Dubois was busy early and may have done a bit of damage to the Bruin. But McAvoy comes on hard late and gets the win with the best punch.

God bless Charlie McAvoy. Charlie wins, .

Posted by EK65 on December 20, 2017 at 02:17 PM

Couple skilled pups throw down. Although like usual I disagree with Jack (if you're reading this unblock me on twitter) Charles won this tilt.

"that's a good check right there"

Posted by jonahbuxton on December 20, 2017 at 11:43 AM

close draw

Posted by Biggus on December 19, 2017 at 12:15 PM

This sort of exchange is exactly why there should be fighting in hockey. McAvoy brings a shoulder up to Dubois' head, and Dubois answers with a punch, and they decide to settle it right there and then. Dubois at the start, McAvoy in the middle, both still going at the end. Gotta call it a draw.

Posted by Humper on December 19, 2017 at 11:39 AM

McAvoy squeaks out a narrow win (wouldn't argue a draw either) in an energetic and entertaining "we-don't-fight-often" bout.

Posted by iralustmanHF on December 18, 2017 at 11:45 PM

mac landed the best blow, in a close bout. (4)

Posted by Jez-x on December 18, 2017 at 09:46 PM

Nice win,eh Charlie.

Posted by C-BUS on October 01, 2022 at 05:37 PM

Pierre dominated the hits and only took one hit , a lucky shot .

Posted by jerry s on December 19, 2017 at 05:13 AM

nice fight good action both landed aa few but mcavoy had the better punches

Posted by zoyboy on December 20, 2017 at 06:25 AM

Pretty decent go of it from both guys, edge McAvoy.

Posted by BBB77 on December 20, 2017 at 04:49 PM

First fight for both guys love the fact that they went instead of just jawing and waiting for the refs, good tilt

Posted by BruinManiac on December 18, 2017 at 09:55 PM

Charlie Mac is the winner.

Posted by sionnan on December 19, 2017 at 04:38 AM

apparently they didn't teach Doo Bwaa how to fight in Frogland

Posted by hubofhockey on December 20, 2017 at 05:08 PM

McAvoy can do no wrong these days in Boston. He regularly green lights guys so I was wondering when this would happen. He surprised me and more than held his own here with the edge in this fight. Don't need him breaking his hand on a helmet tho...

Posted by MOPAR MUSCLE on December 24, 2017 at 03:47 AM

McAvoy started into this one late and STILL thumped his ass!!! Great job on the Gordie Howe Hat Trick Charlie! 💪💪

Posted by Mounty in NC on December 19, 2017 at 11:32 AM

McAvoy landed one punch which was the best one but Dubois landed about 3 or 4 lighter ones. I give it a 3 and a draw. NO WAY IN HELL that fight deserved a 5. Some of you need to lay off the drugs before voting!!!

Posted by Wooly on December 18, 2017 at 11:19 PM

Even fight

Posted by Oswegofightfan on December 18, 2017 at 10:48 PM

Each guy landed two decent shots. 4 and a draw. Is anyone else going to vote that didn't grow up in Boston

Posted by ragercrow on December 19, 2017 at 01:43 AM

The tv guy yell too much for McAvoy: more punch by Dubois, take down by MacAvoy

Posted by Rangeley_blkbear on December 18, 2017 at 10:27 PM

two obvious non-fighters, dubois with a sucker punch to initiate, but fails to finish. edge McAvoy

Posted by Hitem hard on December 19, 2017 at 09:54 AM

Pierre's early work wins the bout. The McAvoy punch to shield was good one but no damage

Posted by nuckles88 on December 18, 2017 at 11:08 PM

Why is everyone giving this to mcavoy? He landed one decent punch and then bear hugged him to the ice... Dubois landed lots of clean shots and did all the damage. That’s a win in my books

Once again Boston fans prove that anal sex can cause pregnancy.
