Ruutu switches back and lands a left before ripping Ritchie's helmet off. They wrestle around a bit until Ruutu gets loose and is able to get Ritchie's jersey over his head as he lands 5-6 rights before the linesmen come in.

Ott comes back with a left, but gets caught again with another flurry of rights by Laperriere. They tie up and Ott struggles to get his right hand free until the linesmen come in.

They come together behind the play and drop the gloves. They grab on and exchange right hands. McGrattan gets Godard's jersey in his face and lands a right that knocks Godard's helmet off. Godard shakes off his elbow pad and throws two rights as McGrattan returns fire with a right of his own. They wrestle around for a bit as Godard rips McGrattan's helmet off. They get loose and exhange right hands before McGrattan throws an uppercut and right hook combination. Godard ducks under another McGrattan right and throws a left. McGrattan responds with 4-5 rights and an uppercut as Godard throws a right during the exchange. McGrattan throws two more rights as Godard switches hands and ducks under another McGrattan right. McGrattan throws two more rights as Godard just holds on. Finally the two stand there until the linesmen come in and break things up.

Vandenbussche lands two more lefts to the back of Orr's head before he goes for the takedown and sends both players to the ice. Orr throws two rights while they are down before the linesmen come in.

Leach nails Malone along the boards and they drop the gloves shortly after. Malone rushes in allowing Leach to connect with two rights. Malone ducks as Leach throws another right. Malone gets back up and throws a right that knocks him off-balance. Leach falls on top of him as Malone throws a right before they hit the ice.

Lapointe levels Ott into the boards. Ott gets back up and they skate down the ice while Lapointe gives Ott a good slash to let him know that he wants to drop the gloves. Lapointe grabs him drops the gloves and Ott does when he realizes he's not going to have any choice, but the linesmen are already there. Lapointe lands a couple of uppercuts and Ott comes back with a right of his own, but he can never really get going because of the linesmen trying to break the fight up. Other Penalties: Lapointe received a slashing.

Edmonton scores and it's now a 7-2 Edmonton lead with less than a minute left in the game. The Blues go offsides, the whistle blows and Smith skates in front of Hoggan and receives a shove. They drop the gloves and get in close. They wrestle for a moment and Hoggan throws some rights that land on Smith's left side. Smith attempts a couple of rights of his own, but he's having problems maintaining balance. They wrestle some and Hoggan takes down Smith, getting a right or two in before the linesmen rush in.

Jeff Halpern throws a big hit on Kozlov. Ilya Kovalchuk comes over and gives Halpern a shove and knocks him to the ice. Everyone comes together, sticks up, and a scrum ensues. Halpern skates after Kovalchuk, who skates backwards until a linesman gets in between. Clark has a hold of Kozlov, and has him bent over. Clark throws a punch or two and Kozlov turtles. Clark holds up and a ref comes over to ensure the break up. Clark skates away with a nick on his nose, from a high stick earlier. Other Penalties: Jeff Halpern received a roughing; Ilya Kovalchuk a roughing and high sticking.

Goertzen lays a big hit on Dion Phaneuf in the corner. Ritchie skates over to Goertzen and they drop the gloves. Ritchie starts out with a few rights and Goertzen tosses Ritche to the ice, also losing his own balance in the process. They get up, but Ritchie's quicker and feeds Goertzen some rights while he's getting up. Goertzen loses his balance again, goes to a knee and gets back up. They exchange some rights, Ritchie's look to be landing better. Goertzen just can't straighten out and use his size to his advantage. As Goertzen moves forward he goes to the ice again, and this time Ritchie lands on him and the linesmen come in.

After they were talking a shift earlier, they drop the gloves at center. McCarty uses both arms to grab Shelley first, but Shelley pops him a good one. McCarty gets himself sorted out and they both start throwing rights, toe-to-toe for a bit. McCarty is throwing more than Shelley, but isn't really landing. Shelley then gets McCarty turned around, throws one to the back of the head and gets the takedown.

They tie up again and wrestle to get loose. Strudwick throws a right as Marshall counters with a left. Strudwick throws a big right which Marshall ducks under. They tie up again and Strudwick lands a couple punches to the back of Marshall's head as he holds on. Marshall lands two lefts to the side of Strudwick's head and then loses his balance, allowing Strudwick to land a few rabbit punches before the linesmen come in to break things up.

Hordichuk drops the gloves in defense and nails Smith with a right hand, causing Smith to go down to the ice. As Smith gets back up, Hordichuk lands two more rights, knocking Smith down again. Hordichuk lands another right while Smith is down. Other Penalties: Smith received an instigator and misconduct.

Both guys wrestle to the ice with Brookbank landing a punch as they are down. They get back up and trade right hands. Boogaard lands a right and tries to get his arm out of his jersey. Brookbank comes back with a right when Boogaard gets him in a sort of spin cycle and lands about 6-7 unanswered punches. Brookbank throws a left, but Boogaard hits him on the temple, causing Brookbank to lose his balance and fall to the ice.
