They come together in the corner and drop the gloves. They tie up before Laperriere gets loose and throws a flurry of about four overhand rights that knock Johnson's helmet off. Laperriere throws another overhand right as Johnson comes back with a right of his own. Johnson grabs Laperriere's knee and tries to take him down, but can't get him off-balance. Laperriere throws a couple of more overhand rights before he takes Johnson to the ice, ending the fight. Other Penalties: Johnson received a hooking.

They talk for a bit and decide to drop the gloves right after a faceoff. McGrattan bends down to size up Godard as Godard grabs on to him as soon as McGrattan stands up straight. Godard throws a right and the two start exchanging big right hands. McGrattan lands a jersey-jab and a right cross as Godard comes back with a right of his own before they start exchanging rights again, with McGrattan's helmet being knocked off in the process. McGrattan misses a right allowing Godard to throw two quick rights before McGrattan returns fire with rights. Godard throws a number of jersey-jabs while McGrattan continues to throw rights. Godard lands a hard jersey-jab before they throw a couple right hands each. After this short exchange they are visibly exhausted and the linesmen come in to break things up.

Avery nails Paul Kariya into the boards from behind down at the Kings end of the ice. As play continues, Avery goes up ice and joins the rush. Hordichuk comes off the bench and goes right after Avery, hitting him hard against the boards. Hordichuk drops his gloves and starts throwing rights as Avery turtles to the ice. Tim Gleason tries a head-first dive into Hordichuk, but misses and takes a linesman with him, allowing Hordichuk to throw a couple of more rights until the linesmen finally come in. Other Penalties: Hordichuk received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct. Sean Avery did not receive a fighting major.

They drop the gloves right after the faceoff and square off. Laraque swipes to grab on to Boogaard and misses, but grabs hold of him the second time around. Boogaard throws a quick right as Laraque responds with two lefts. Laraque gets Boogaard's head down and throws a flurry of about 4-5 lefts that send Boogaard to the ice with Laraque on top.

After laying out Eric Lindros with an open ice hit, Alberts goes down and starts shoving Domi along the boards. Domi turns around and they drop the gloves. They wrestle around for a bit until Domi gets his left arm loose and throws a left that knocks Alberts' helmet off and sends both players to the ice. Domi gets back up, but the linesmen are already in between the two as Domi gets in a right while Alberts is down.

They start talking while skating back from the New Jersey net and drop the gloves at the blueline. Marshall throws a quick right before they grab on. Marshall throws a right as Payer comes back with a couple of rights of his own. Payer then misses with a right allowing Marshall to switch hands and throw a flurry of lefts before they start exchanging punches: Marshall with lefts, Payer with rights. Marshall was able to get Payer's head down and started throwing numerous uppercuts. Payer returned fire with a left before the two wrestle each other to the ice and let the linesmen come in.

After the horn sounds to end the game Doan drops the gloves and throws 2-3 punches at Vishnevski, the last one connecting solidly and sending Vishnevski to his knees as Doan gets tackled by an official. Vishenvski is bloodied as he skates off. Other Penalties: Doan received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct. Vitaly Vishnevski did not receive a fighting major.

Fedoruk nails Nedved with a high hit, a shot apparently avenging an earlier big shot by Gauthier on Lupul. O'Donnell is right next to the hit and drops the gloves. They grab onto each other and nothing is thrown for a while. The linesmen look to get involved a couple of times, but the two move out of the way while still holding on tight. Finally, after a good 20 seconds, punches are thrown, but nothing of consequence. Each may have landed one before Fedoruk gets off two uppercuts, one landing, as the linesmen come in. Other Penalties: O'Donnell received an instigator and misconduct; Fedoruk an attempt to injure match penalty.

Antti Laaksonen crosses the blueline into the Flames' zone and gets taken out by Marchment after a late whistle for offsides. Laperriere is close by and skates right on over. The two get the sticks up and drop the gloves while a linesman is trying to intervene. They break away and just start pumping punches at one another, Laperriere with the right, Marchment with the left. About 8-10 punches are tossed by each and then they start to wrestle. Laperriere sneaks in a short left as they continue grappling for position. They're against the boards now and each player tosses a shot while they're tangled. They're in tight and each player tries to use the other ones grip to make him spring forward while punching. A couple of more punches land from each, Lappy with a couple of rights, Mush with some lefts. The linesmen wait for them to grapple and tire a bit more before moving in and breaking it up.

Scatchard cross checks Marcel Goc from behind in the corner. Thornton's right next to the two and grabs ahold of Scatchard. Shane Doan attempts to break it up, but Thornton's got a good grip on Scatch and throwing rights over a scrum. They break away and Scatchard goes to his knees. Thornton throws a big left uppercut as Scatchard is getting up. Scatchard makes it up on his skates, but after just a moment or so of wrestling he falls and Thornton throws the lefts as the linesmen come in. Other Penalties: Scatchard received a cross checking.

Cairns gives Godard a shove as Godard is skating back up ice. They talk for a little bit and decide to drop the gloves and square off. They grab on as Cairns lands two jersey-jabs before Godard misses with a flurry of locked out rights. Godard then lands a number of jersey-jabs of his own on Cairns. They exchange right hands before Cairns throws about 8-9 rights with Godard returning fire in the form of two left hooks as Cairns is still throwing. They exchange more punches before Godard lands an overhand right that causes Cairns to stop throwing. They pause for a moment and begin throwing again, Godard with uppercuts and rights; Cairns with rights and jersey-jabs. They exchange punches before tiring out and ending the fight themselves as the linesmen come in as escorts.

The two drop the gloves near the benches and square off. Boulton grabs on and misses with a short left as Belak returns fire with about 6-7 rights of his own, most of them hitting the back of Boulton's helmet as he is ducking away. Boulton throws a right of his own during the flurry. They tie up and struggle to get loose and keep their balance. Boulton throws a right as Belak comes back with 4-5 of his own. Boulton shakes off his elbow pad and throws a couple of short rights. They spin around as Belak throws a couple of rights. Boulton comes back with a locked out right of his own. They tie up again as Boulton gets his arm loose and lands about 9-10 rights to the back of Belak's head, a mix of long and short punches that knock Belak's helmet off in the process. Boulton throws a couple of more short rights over the top as Belak throws a right that causes both players to lose their balance and fall half way to the ice for a moment. They get up and Boulton throws two rights to the back of Belak's head before the linesmen intervene.

They do a little pushing and shoving before dropping the gloves near center ice. They try to grab on after a short square off and Strudwick almost slips and falls not getting a good enough of a grip on Boulerice. Boulerice skates over and tries to take advantage and throws a quick right. They get in tight and Strudwick starts throwing short rights as both guys try to get free. Boulerice gets Strudwick's helmet off and shoves a left hand into his face before throwing a body shot. Boulerice then gets Strudwick's jersey partly over his head and starts throwing rights as Strudwick responds with a left at the beginning of the flurry. Strudwick throws a right as Boulerice gets his elbow pad off as he switches hands and responds with two solid lefts. They get in close again and Strudwick throws a right before the linesmen come in.

The two drop the gloves and square off at the blueline, each fighter switching stances multiple times. Fedoruk misses with a left hook as May grabs on and throws a couple of quick rights. Fedoruk ties up May's right arm and tries to rip his helmet off. He finally does and lands a right as May comes back with a left to the back of Fedoruk's head. Fedoruk switches hands and throws a couple of lefts as the two start exchanging punches. They each nail each other with solid punches, knocking May off-balance and to the ice.

Parros throws a nice check on Ohlund. Brookbank takes exception and goes right after Parros. Both guys drop the gloves, turn, face each other and start throwing. Brookbank starts with a right which is quickly answered by a right from Parros. The two guys then get in close and do a bit of wrestling. Brookbank then throws a right to the side of the head. The two then exchange a few shots, Brookbank getting in two rights and Parros connecting with a right of his own. Parros tries another right, but comes up short. Parros loses his balance and falls to the ice and the linesmen quickly come in. Other Penalties: Brookbank received an instigator and misconduct.
