Eric Boulton vs Jay Rosehill, Jan 18, 2013

| Ben Eklund

For the second time this season, Jay Rosehill and Eric Boulton squared off and slugged their way into our Fight of the Week. Their October 26 bout was part of an AHL/NHL double-feature post. In last Saturday night's FlyersIslanders game in South Philly, Rosehill and Boulton tossed the mitts for a rematch. They went toe-to-toe, leaving little to the imagination as they each took a haymaker to give a haymaker. After a classic display of heavyweight strength and stamina, Rosehill wrestled Boulton to the ice, then pumped the home crowd. Boulton sported a nice welt under his right eye for the rest of the game, but the fight was as even as it gets. Difficult to pick a winner after that one. The Metropolitan division rivals square off again on Long Island on Monday afternoon. Might we see Round 3?

The Rosehill-Boulton slugfest capped a great Saturday night for NHL rivalries. Pacific division foes Vancouver and Calgary engaged in a line brawl off the opening faceoff, and a Central division clash between Colorado and Nashville produced a great middleweight fight between Eric Nystrom and Cody McLeod.
