| Liam Horrobin

John and Tim are back with another episode of Dropping The Gloves! Today, they are joined by San Jose Sharks defenceman Mario Ferraro.

Ferraro is a former second round pick, 49th overall, from the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. The Sharks defenceman spent two years at UMass in the NCAA before signing in San Jose. He captained the Minutemen in his sophomore year and played 80 games for them.

In the interview, the guys spoke to Ferraro about his time with UMass and the program’s growth. They also discussed his former defence partner Cale Makar who burst onto the scene in Ferraro’s second season.

Now in the NHL, Ferraro gets to play with a few potential hockey Hall of Famers. Since joining the Sharks, he spoke about what it’s been like to learn from Erik Karlsson, Brent Burns, and Marc-Edouard Vlasic. He also mentioned how they had much higher expectations for themselves heading into the 2021-22 season.
