Dropping The Gloves Episode 223: Petty Hockey, Sutter Comments, McDavid vs the Sabres
The first episode of Dropping The Gloves has been released, and with no guests on this edition, John and Tim took a look around the NHL.
There was plenty of talk around the trade deadline, specifically about Taylor Hall and the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres recently traded away NHL veteran Eric Staal, and it looks like they’ll continue to find ways to move more pieces. Hall is one of those pieces, and the word on the street is that Buffalo is seeking a first round pick as compensation for the former league MVP. John and Tim discussed if Hall was even worth that much anymore, especially with only two goals to his name this season.
They then had a fun talk about whether or not Connor McDavid can finish the season with more points than the Sabres as a whole. Head over to their social media channels to give your input on that conversation.
The controversy around Calgary recently was also brought up. With the latest couple of episode featuring guests JT Miller and Kirby Dach, John and Tim finally had a chance to talk about the puck situation when the Flames wouldn’t give the puck to the Senators rookie goaltender who just got his first win. Later on, in the show, Daryl Sutter’s comments on Johnny Gaudreau’s 500th NHL game came into the conversation. John gave his thoughts on the situation and who he stands by.
