Oct 05, 2001 1pd 17:16 Josef Vasicek NYR Vladimir Malakhov
Comments: Scrum where Malakhov winds up grabbing Vasicek. Malakhov is backing up to take off his sheild when Vasicek just wants to go immediately. Malakhov gets off a couple of punches as both fall almost instantly. One seems to connect. I was surprised to see fighting majors called here.

Nov 21, 2001 2pd 03:42 Chris Dingman @DAL Sami Helenius
Comments: Helenius and Dingman drop gloves on the faceoff. Helenius kind of pushed Dingman against the boards while Dingman kind of rope-a-doped Helenius. Then Dingman swings three times and connects on all three. Helenius then used his strength to slam Dingman onto the ice.

Nov 27, 2001 1pd 12:56 Chris Dingman @TOR Wade Belak
Comments: They were mostly in close, wrestling. Belak landed two lefts and Dingman two rights. Belak got Dingman's shirt over his head and then Dingman fell on Belak.

Nov 29, 2001 2pd 05:28 Chris Dingman @NYR Steve McKenna
Comments: Right off of a faceoff they decide to go at center ice. McKenna starts off quick and throws a flurry of about 6 landing the majority of them. Dingman throws about 2 or 3, not significantly landing any. Then McKenna loses his balance and they go to the ice. Dingman's nose has a small cut on it, not sure what it was from.

Comments: Dingman has Simon pinned along the boards. Simon gives Dingman a few noogies and then throws a few lefts that miss and they fall down.

Nov 30, 2001 3pd 14:20 Darren Langdon @WAS Brendan Witt
Comments: They were both were pushing and shoving after the puck went into the stands. They were tied up at the start. Witt landed 1 or 2 jabs, then Langdon took control. He landed around 5 or 6 quick jabs to Witt's chin, then fell on Witt.

Dec 08, 2001 2pd 12:22 Darren Langdon @FLA Paul Laus
Comments: The two come together along the boards with Laus getting a hand to Langdon's face, and the gloves come off. They both immeadiately grab a handfull of jersey (they each had both fists clenced with jersey). Laus tries to throw first, with Langdon countering. Nothing landed. They both continue to each try and throw a few more back and fourth, but nothing landing due to the clenched jersey thing. Boring fight.

Dec 14, 2001 1pd 06:40 Darren Langdon @BUF Rob Ray
Comments: Held each other off at arms lengths and threw rights, landing several each. Many shots drew helmet. Ray got a solid looking uppercut in when Langdon let his guard down for a second. Langdon repaid with a solid looking haymaker seconds later. Fight lasted at a while before both fighters got tired and slowed down.

Comments: None yet, but Langdon did not receive a penalty since he didn't fight back (yet it's 7-0 Carolina at the time, did he not think someone was going to come after him?). Other Penalties: Jakopin received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct. Darren Langdon did not receive a fighting major.

Dec 26, 2001 1pd 10:58 Darren Langdon TOR Wade Belak
Comments: Off the faceoff, the two fighters are having words. They skate away from each other, Langdon gets the puck and shoots it into the Leafs zone. Belak finishes his check on Langdon, and they both hold on to each other. Off come the gloves, and Belak gets the early jump. He gets off about 4-6 right hand shots, with 2 or 3 landing solidly. Langdon tries to come back, as he throws 3 or 4 rights. Most either came up empty or didn't land flush. Belak's helmet then gets caught in such a manner that it's actually blocking his face from further Langdon punches. The linesmen step in at this point.

Jan 12, 2002 3pd 17:13 Darren Langdon @VAN Mike Brown
Comments: Langdon was given two minutes for roughing up a Canuck (Ohlund). On Langdon's next shift, coach Crawford sends Mike Brown over the boards to get things going with Langdon. A little bit of talking and off come the gloves. Langdon seemed to land a couple of uppercuts, Brown landed some hard shots as well. It was a decent toe-to-toe scrap with Brown controlling it for the most part.

Jan 25, 2002 2pd 04:10 Kevyn Adams FLA Bill Lindsay
Comments: Lindsay had kneed Adams earlier, Bill got 2 and Adams got pissed. The fight was nothing but grappling and wrestling. Both tried "push punches" on each other. After the two got tired, the linesmen broke it up. These two were teammates just 9 days before.

Jan 26, 2002 1pd 05:19 Darren Langdon @PHI Todd Fedoruk
Comments: As the play went up ice towards Boucher, Langdon and the Fridge went at it at center ice. Both fighters are clenched to each others shirt. Langdon got it going first throwing 3 or 4 nothing shots. Fedoruk tries to throw a few of his own, but nothing's sucessful. Langdon comes back with a few more after switching hands. The Fridge still can't get free, and it doesn't seem as he's even got any enthusiam. Langdon throws a couple more, one landing to the side of the Fridge, sending his helmet flying. They both try and throw a couple more, but neither can really get it going as they begin to slow and tire.

Jan 26, 2002 3pd 15:25 Sean Hill @PHI Mark Recchi
Comments: After Ron Francis notched his 1170th assist, Mark Recchi and Sean Hill go at it. Two shielded fighters, and neither lose the shield. Rex gets going right away, throwing 4 lefts. Hill tries to get one in and throws an arm around Rex's neck. Rex then switches to the right and starts firing, landing 2 or 3, one good one that puts Hill on his ass.

Feb 28, 2002 1pd 02:59 Darren Langdon @BOS Dennis Bonvie
Comments: Pretty good bout here. Bonvie starts it with some quick short punches before Langdon starts to throw a few. Both fighters trade misses until Langdon loses the elbow pad and connects with a few rights, one pretty good one in particular. Bonvie then gets his elbow pad loose and returns the favor. Good, long fight.

Feb 28, 2002 1pd 16:58 Darren Langdon @BOS Sean O'Donnell
Comments: O'Donnell shoves Langdon into the boards and off come the gloves. Langdon lands a right early on, then both guys pretty much held on. Each guy tried to throw a few but missed. Langdon landed the only punch of the fight.

Feb 28, 2002 2pd 20:00 Sami Kapanen @BOS Sergei Samsonov
Comments: Welcome to Bizzaro World. Who would've known these two would ever go - and with each other? Sean Hill cheap shots Samsonov with a shot to the knees wich is followed by a scrum along the boards. As things are calming down Sergei and Sami start swingin' at each other. Sergei gets Kapanen's sheild off and starts throwing overhand rights, a couple of them landing. Kapenen throws some rights of his own but with Samsonov's windshield still on they aren't doing any damage. For some reason Grahame skates over and is about to get third man in but the linesmen intercepted him. Sergei then scores the takedown. A surprisingly entertaining fight from these two Byngers. Sergei left his visor on though (not like Sami removed his own though). Other Penalties: Samsonov received an instigator, unsportsmanlike conduct and misconduct; Glen Murray a charging.

Feb 28, 2002 3pd 12:17 Sean Hill @BOS Nick Boynton
Comments: The B's spend most of the third period going after Hill for his knee to knee hit on Samsonov. Boynton finally lines him up and drills him. Boynton drops the gloves and starts to pound away. Hill pretty much does the turtle routine as Boynton bounces right hands off the top of his head. Other Penalties: Boynton an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct. Sean Hill did not receive a fighting major.

Mar 21, 2002 1pd 01:53 Darren Langdon FLA Peter Worrell
Comments: Less than 2 minutes into the game Langdon and Worrell start to go. Apparently it's paypack for a Worrell hit to Gelinas in January. The beginning of the fight is all Worrell, who's throwing roundhouse rights and tossing in a few uppercuts. A couple of shots might have landed, but most seem to be helmet shots or near misses. In classic Langdon style he comes alive late in the fight and starts throwing. Langdon may have landed a right at the very end, but niether man seems hurt at all.
