Comments: Off the face off Marshall throws a right that appears to catch Cowan solidly in the face (due to long camera angle this punch is debatable). He then follows with a hook that misses and another that catches air. Marshall is thrown off balance and while bent over Cowan lands a left on his back. Marshall is going down now and Cowan glances another punch off of Marshall's upper back. Another solid left lands on the back of Marshall's helmet while a follow up glances off. Marshall's in trouble now and the refs are coming in.

Comments: Belanger got on Berube quick and really did not give the big Chief a chance to start. Down to the ice went both of them with Belanger on top and a left fist free. He threw about 5 or so landing mostly on top of Berube's helment.

Comments: Sawyer takes a huge run at Vernon, nails him, then drops the gloves and waits for someone to step up. Iginla was on his way, but Regehr beat him to the punch(so to speak). Sawyer tees off on Regehr hitting him countless times in the helmet, connecting some on the face. Other Penalties: Dean Mcammond received a misconduct; Sawyer a match penalty.

Comments: Iginla gets started by missing with a big left. Lambert comes back and also misses with a big right. They fall down but are able to get back up. Iginla throws a couple lefts that land well to the top of Lambert's head. Lambert swings Iginla around and lands a puch of his own. They go down agian but get back up and start hugging. Other Penalties: Lambert received a misconduct and game misconduct; Iginla a game misconduct (the gamers were for being the fight started while one was going on).

Comments: Begin was throwing lefts and Salei just held on so he wouldn't get hit hard. Begin got off about 5 lefts or so. Salei didn't throw a punch, but did headbutt him (for the match penalty). Other Penalties: Begin received an instigator and misconduct; Salei a match.

Comments: In the Calgary zone, both players drop the gloves. DiMaio slips and the refs come in, but DiMaio recovers quick enough and they square off. Boughner throws a couple of slaps and DiMaio turns his head giving the Boogieman some helmet. Boughner gets a couple of light jabs in and DiMaio gets one decent uppercut before they fall to the ice. Not much action.

Comments: Allison leads with a left that grazes. Then they grapple with Low getting Allison's helmet off. Low gets the left free with Allison thinking he got a good hold on the shoulder, but has Low's collar instead. Allison gets the right somewhat free with Low having a slight hold on the shoulder of the Jersey. They trade 5 or 6 with Low getting the better of 'em. He got Allison pretty decently a couple of times. Allison looses his balance and goes and stays down. Linesman come in and Low throws a few more for good measure (probably since he hasn't played in so long).

Comments: Berube gets two minutes for running over Tommy Salo. As soon as he gets out of the box, on his next shift, he is challenged by Brown, but doesn't accept. Laraque goes right up to Berube and off came the gloves. Berube immediately went into a defensive posture, ducking his head and holding on. Laraque throws 3 or 4 shots to the back of the head, and Berube goes down. Georges lets Berube get back up, and Laraque throws two uppercuts, which miss, and two straight left hands to the side of Berube's head, and Berube goes down again.

Comments: Ray went after Boughner in a scrappy 3rd period but Boughner didn't seem too interested...so Ray drops the gloves anyways, and starts firing shots at a turtling (but still standing) Boughner. Comments: Scatch nails Petrovicky behind the Islanders net and is called for interference. Montador then drops his gloves and comes running in. They grab ahold of each other, looks like Montador threw a punch that didn't land hard (if at all), and then they fall (and over Petrovicky, who's still on the ice - didn't Montador want to protect him? irony...). That's it. Other Penalties: Scatchard received an interference; Montador an instigator and misconduct.

Comments: In the corner they're pushing and shoving. Some mutual facewashes, and the gloves go down. Clark throws a couple of punches right away, possibly landing them, but doing no damage. Commodore then throws a few that miss. They're grappling, with Commodore having more control and throwing some punches that don't connect. They're then all tied up against the glass and the linesmen jump in.

Comments: At a faceoff, Regehr gives Sawyer a shot with his stick below the belt. Sawyer shakes it off, and lines back up. After the puck is dropped, Regher drops his gloves and immediately grabs Sawyer, but Sawyer doesn't go. He keeps his gloves on, and the linesmen step in. Well, in comes Lambert and Morris and Allison everybody else on the ice and the gloves are all off. Then Sawyer throws his gloves off and tries to find a partner to go with. Trnka and Morris pair off and exchange punches in a pretty short tilt. Other Penalties: Regehr received a double roughing; Sawyer a roughing.

Comments: Corson gets in several rights with Wilm replying with the odd punch. Corson eventually gets the right arm out of the sleeve - earlier he was punching with it sort of half-way up the sleeve. Wilm did a good job to tie him up. Not sure how, usually that's a lot tougher with the arm out of the sleeve, but Corson switched to the left and nailed him a few times - all the while Wilm gets the odd shot in.

Comments: This was a result of a big scrum at center ice. Domi went after Gauthier for his 1st period hit on Reichel, and in steps Berube. Boughner comes over and shakes the gloves, while Berube is still shoving Domi. Domi gets away from Berube and gets at Boughner. Brief scrap here, as maybe both guys get off at the most 3 punches each before the linesmen get in.

Comments: After they get back to their feet a ref comes between them. They are yapping at each other and trying to throw the odd jab. The ref backs off and lets them go. Regehr starts off throwing rights and Low is forced into the defensive. After 5 shots or so Low fires back with at least 6 (ref got in the way and it was hard to see exactly what was going on). At this point Regehr is on the defensive and is holding Low at arms length with his head as far away as possible. The guys are out of gas now. Other Penalties: Regehr received a roughing and double game misconduct; Low a misconduct (earning him three in all in this brawl).

Comments: Boughner tries to run Matt and they end up knocking legs with each other. Matt is not too pleased with Bobby's intentions here, so he skates over to him and off go the gloves. Boughner lands a couple of solid lefts to start this bout while Barnaby holds on. Each is holding onto each other as they spin in circles. Matt is trying to get free, but Bob has him in check. Boughner may have landed one or two more before he takes Matt down to the ice. As usual, during the fight, Barnaby is shaking his head telling the refs to stay away. Also, Matt left the ice with a trainer on his way out and they think he may have been hurt with the initial leg-on-leg hit or during the takedown.

Comments: Flames scored with less than a minute to go, game is over and Richardson checks Clark and and they go. A lot of hugging to start off both leaning against the net, some noogies are exchanged, ear-poking proceeds, and more hugging, the refs let them continue and they come off the net and throw some. Clark throws 2 uppercuts, maybe 1 landing, Richardson then gets going and throws 5 right haymakers with maybe 1 or 2 landing. Both fall to the ice, not too much going on.

Comments: Nilson and Lydman get tangled in the corner and go down with Lydman on top. While on top he gives a jap to the face of Marcus and then uses his face to get up off the ice. A pissed off Marcus gets up and goes right after Lydman. They drop them and Marcus trys a couple rights that seem to miss. Lydman wearing the sheild really does nothing but hold on, and then its over.

Comments: Both Boughner and Gauthier went after Smith. Smith dropped his gloves and grabbed Boughner while Gauthier was still trying to get at Smith. Gauthier was throwing punches at Niinimaa, who was tied up with McAmmond at the time. Niinimaa turns to Gauthier and gets loose from McAmmond as McAmmond and Ryan Smyth get tied up. Niinimaa takes down Gauthier. Meanwhile, Jason Smith and Boughner tried to fight, each guy throwing one or two punches each, but the linesmen got in there rather quickly, and the whole scrum was quieted down. Other Penalties: Dean McAmmond, Ryan Smyth, Janne Niinimaa and Smith received roughings.

Comments: Petrovicky levels Reasoner with a solid, clean check. Smith didn't like it though, and he went after Petrovicky. Berube comes in from behind and hits Smith in the back of the head. Big scrum along the boards. Boughner and Ferguson emerge from the scrum and tie each other up. Boughner gets the right free, which in turn allows Ferguson to fire a left. Swing and a miss. Boughner throws 3 or 4 shots which hit helmet. Ferguson then goes down. Short fight. Other Penalties: Craig Berube received a roughing; Jason Smith a double roughing.

Comments: A scrum ensues behind the Canucks net when Hlavac and Nichol exchange blows. Letowski is tangled up with Morris and for some reason, Morris decided to jump Letowski when he wasn't even looking. Morris began throwing bombs at the outmatched Letowski before he even had his gloves off and knocked him down. Other Penalties: Morris received an instigator and misconduct; Jan Hlavac and Scott Nichol received roughings.
