At the end of the game Gary Roberts goes after Marius Czerkawski. Brad Isbister is on the ice and he nails Roberts with a nice takedown and pins him to the ice. Everybody pairs off. Apr 28, 2002 3pd 18:10 Darcy Tucker @NYI Shawn Bates
Bates sends Shayne Corson to the ice with an open-ice check near the blueline, causing Corson to take exception and go after Bates when he got back to his feet. Corson throws a gloved left at the back of Bates' head. Tucker turns around and him and Bates shove each other before dropping the gloves. They immediately grab onto each other and Tucker tries to get his right arm free which is continually tied up by Bates. Bates pushes Tucker up against the boards and Tucker gets in a right. They wrestle around along the glass until both get free and each throw a couple of rights. They skate out to center ice and exchange rights once more. They then decide to hold on and let the linesmen intervene. They are separated and sent to their respective penalty boxes where Tucker mocks the Islanders' crowd. One of the fans throws an object into the penalty box but Tucker turns around and sits down, ending the conflict. Other Penalties: Tucker received a roughing.

Apr 28, 2002 3pd 18:10 Shayne Corson @NYI Eric Cairns
They get tangled up at center ice and eventually decide to drop the gloves. They grab ahold of each other and go back and forth with rights. Cairns connects with two straight rights and Corson bends over to get away from further incoming shots. Cairns connects with two rights and an uppercut. Corson answers with a right of his own, but Cairns then lands three straight rights that knock Corson off-balance and to the ice. The linesmen are right there to grab them. Corson stands back up on his own but has his jersey up and over his head. He then kicks Cairns while Cairns is still on the ice in between the linesmen. Corson tries to get Cairns in a headlock, but the two are finally separated. Cairns skates back to the locker room waving to the crowd and meets up with Shawn Bates to bang fists before leaving the ice.
