Pratt plays the puck up ice as Wright gives him a shot along the boards. They push and shove and proceed to drop the gloves. They tie up as Pratt throws a locked-out right. Wright presses Pratt up against the glass as both players struggle to get loose. Pratt throws a locked-out right followed by a short right while trying to shake off his elbow pad. Pratt switches hands and throws a left while Wright is struggling to get loose. They wrestle around before Pratt throws a left uppercut while Wright's head is down. Pratt then throws a locked-out right while Wright returns fire with an overhand right. Wright pushes Pratt up against the glass and then throws him to the ice. Other Penalties: Wright received an unsportsmanlike conduct.

They start pushing and shoving as they skate towards the net. Lecavalier gives Ballard a slash from behind. Ballard gives Lecavalier a shot behind the play and the two drop the gloves. They tie up as Ballard throws a couple of locked-out rights followed by 4-5 jersey-jabs while Lecavalier struggles to get loose. Lecavalier then throws four short rights as Ballard just holds on. Lecavalier tries to rip off Ballard's helmet as the linesmen move in.

The two start pushing and shoving along the glass before they drop the gloves. They wrestle up against the glass and Sarich lands a left as Kostopoulos connects with two rights to the side of Sarich's helmet. The two exchange rights before Sarich unloads a flurry of 7-8 body shots and rights as Kostopoulos returns fire with a right of his own. Sarich switches hands and throws a left at the same time Kostopoulos throws a right. Sarich throws a few rights to the back of Kostopoulos' helmet before the two wrestle up against the glass some more. Kostopoulos throws two rights and the two wrestle around and eventually lose their balance, falling to the ice with Sarich on top.

Gratton takes a run at Artyukhin along the boards as Artyukhin pushes him to the ice. Gratton gets back up to his feet and skates down ice, challenging Artyukhin and the two drop the gloves and square off near the side boards. Artyukhin grabs on and throws two straight rights to start things off. Gratton responds with a couple of rights and the two go back and forth with right hands for a short while. Gratton switches hands and throws a left jab before pulling Artyukhin's jersey up and over his head. Gratton then throws three rights and tries to shake his elbow pad off before the linesmen jump in. Gratton skates away with a cut under his left eye.

Dingman and Belak shove each other as they skate by the Toronto net before dropping the gloves. Belak throws an uppercut and the two wrestle around in tight and exchange rabbit punches to the back of each other's helmet. Dingman lands a right and Belak responds with a right to the side of Dingman's helmet before the two go back and forth with rights that catch nothing but helmet. They grapple and Dingman throws an overhand right that is blocked and countered with a Belak uppercut. Belak shakes off his elbow pad and then the two fall to the ice.

Dingman breaks into the Thrashers' zone and Greg de Vries almost catches up to him and helps him crash into the Thrashers' net, taking out Kari Lehtonen in the process. The puck crosses the line as Dingman does, but the goal is waved off. When Dingman gets up to protest Larsen grabs him and starts shoving. A gloved punch or two is tossed from each as a scrum ensues. They're in real close and Dingman throws a short shot with each hand before the two fall to the ice. Other Penalties: Garnet Exelby and Evgeny Artyukhin each received a roughing.
