Langkow and Thomas come together against the boards and drop the gloves. Langkow gets things going with four rights, but none land. Langkow then switches hands and hits Thomas' helmet a couple of times before Thomas answers with a left hook that grazes Langkow's helmet/forehead. After the Thomas punch, they're in-close and Langkow gets Thomas' helmet off and tries a left. Langkow then switches to the right and lands a nice punch to Thomas' face, and makes Thomas duck his head for a second. Langkow tries a few more rights, but none land. Thomas gets his head up and they get in-close again. They each exchange a couple of lefts, but none land. Thomas then switches to the right and Langkow stays with the left and they start throwing again. Thomas gets the better of this exchange as he lands three rights to Langkow's face, while Langkow's lefts are hitting Thomas' shoulder. They start to wrestle for position, Langkow tries a nothing left and the linesmen step in.

Ulanov trips Mario Lemieux and Roche comes over, grabs Ulanov and is yelling at him. Ulanov doesn't like it and gives Roche a shove. Roche drops the gloves and starts throwing rights. Roche throws about nine rights in-close, some landing, some not. Ulanov turtles and the linesmen come in. Comments: Other Penalties: Roche received a game misconduct; Ulanov a roughing. Igor Ulanov did not receive a fighting major.

Peca hits Bannister behind the net and Ulanov makes a bee-line for him, knocking him down. They get up and drop the gloves. Ulanov lands three before Peca gets his first one in and it's bombs city. Peca lands a good shot and Ulanov lands one that stuns Peca and knocks his helmet off. They trade some rights and then switch. Peca lands three lefts, and one more while Ulanov's helmet and visor are to the side. Ulanov lands a glancing left. Ulanov looks tired at this point. Peca lands a big right to the side of Ulanov's head. Ulanov throws a left to the back of Peca's head. They grapple, turn around and then the linesmen come in. Other Penalties: Peca received an instigator and misconduct.

They meet again, Kordic looking for revenge from their earlier bout in Tampa. They line up at the faceoff, the puck drops, and so do the gloves. They square off for a few seconds, then both lunge at each other and start throwing the lefts. They go toe-to-toe for the whole fight, about 15 punches thrown by each, some landing, until Kordic lands a nice left on Myhres, then another flush to Myhres' face, dropping him back, with Kordic landing on top.

The linemen are busy dealing with a scrum and these two decide to go. Nice, long square off with a little shadow boxing. The both lock horns and it is serious toe-to-toe time. Both start landing rights at the simultaneously. At first Poeschek's are landing higher, but both are landing. After 6-7 rights the Chief starts landing the better shots, cutting Poeschek. They are in a slow spin and are still landing rights. Poesheck loses his helmet and they tie up a bit. Berube throws four more, three land, one a solid shot, before Berube wrestles Poeschek down towards the board. Berube didn't have him down firmly because while the linemen are breaking them up you see Poesheck land a hunched-over right hand. As Berube skates off you can see he is also bloody, around his mouth. Excellent fight. Other Penalties: Sergei Gonchar received a roughing; Dino Ciccarelli a double roughing.
