Nov 13, 2001 1pd 09:35 Daniel Briere EDM Mike Comrie
Fight spawned from the last time these two teams played when Briere gave Comrie a cheap shot. Decent scrap that began with dropping of the gloves and shedding of the helmets. Both Comrie and Briere landed their share of punches, (Comrie with 2 real nice shots that hit Briere square on the side of the head). Briere came back with some nice punches also after those two solid ones he took to the head. Briere started to get off balance and threw two crazy lefts (Luckily for Comrie they didn't land, he was off balance also he probably would have fell over) and Briere pretty much lost his footing and Comrie fell on top of him.

Nov 17, 2001 1pd 15:04 Brad May NYI Steve Webb
Right off the faceoff, the gloves come off. Webb starts off with some good lefts, and they just start going toe to toe, both with lefts for about 10 seconds. May quickly switches to his right and lands an uppercut which startled Webb and a couple more rights until they both fell to the ice with May on top.

Nov 24, 2001 1pd 10:15 Brad May @STL Bryce Salvador
Bryce Salvador and Brad May go at center ice with Salvador going after May. May drills Salvador with a big time right square on its target. Then they grab, wrestle a bit, trade a few more punches (that appeared clean). Salvador loses his balance and goes down on the ice with May on top. Salvador was cut pretty good by Mays right, the towel was full of blood while in the box. These two had a good fight last season.

Dec 15, 2001 1pd 19:48 Brad May DAL Derian Hatcher
The two square off behind Dallas' goal. They dance a little and then grab hold. May swings and misses with a right. Hatcher swings and partially connected with his right (might have been a helmet shot). Then May wrestles Hatcher down and swings at him when he's on the ice. It's a draw and not an entertaining fight.

Dec 17, 2001 1pd 12:10 Dan Focht CBJ Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre
In Focht's second NHL game, they drop 'em right off the face off. Pulling and tugging early on as both guys look eager. Focht lands an early right bomb as Grand-Pierre may have as well. Focht keeps throwing and misses a right. Both men trade rights which may have landed but it's hard to tell due to the camera angle. Rights in stereo again and they both land to the face. Jean-Luc lands a dandy to the head this time and Focht's eyes are spinning like a slot machine. He's stunned! Focht is lowering his head which causes Grand-Pierre to miss a follow up right. Then - BAM!, Focht just came back with crushing right to Jean-Luc's face. A follow up right cross from Focht misses the mark. Focht has to adjust his helmet. They're repositioning now. In close. A wild right by Jean-Luc misses everything but he gets Focht off balance. They both go down by the net and the linesmen break them up. Nice little fight here as both fellas landed a good one or two.

Dec 21, 2001 1pd 18:50 Brad May @ANA Kevin Sawyer
Both have a nice long square off near center ice. May starts it off with a left bomb that just misses and he follows up with a couple more lefts. Both guys swing around trading punches. May landed a nice right which connected to the side of Sawyer's face and after that May seemed real tired and Sawyer came back with several punches of his own.

Dec 30, 2001 2pd 17:25 Todd Simpson @SAN Owen Nolan
Simpson gets the early start, as he hits Nolan with 2 or 3 lefts. Nolan goes down, but gets right back up. Simpson tries a few more lefts, maybe 3, none of which land cleanly. Nolan comes back with 5 or 6 rights, but they hit mostly helmet. Simpson then throws two more lefts, the first one missing, the second one landed really good, and Nolan went down to the ice.

Jan 26, 2002 1pd 03:33 Andrei Nazarov @CBJ Jody Shelley
This one gets going just moments after Nazarov scores his first goal of the season. No Chris Simon syndrome for Naz! Anyway, it's a fair square off. Man the look on Jody Shelley's face during all of his fights is classic; he's all business. Jody leans in to go for the grab and is met by a stiff left to the face. That one surprised him as he lowers his head. Nazarov grabs on and tosses a quick right which skips off of Shelley's helmet. Shelley returns a right which is too short. Another right from Shelley may have got a little bit of Naz's ear but no damage done. A short right from Nazarov barely misses Shelley's chin. A right from Jody misses and then he grabs a handful of collar with his left and jams it into Naz's face. Another right by Shelley misses as Andrei is bent over and out of reach. He straightens up and fires a right which ain't long enough. A Shelley right is deflected by Nazarov's arm. Repeat last sentence. Shelley has spun himself behind Nazarov now and lands an overhand right to the back of his helmet. A second right lands to the back just before Nazarov get turned around. In close now. Shelley's helmet comes toppling off. A short Nazarov right doesn't get going. Shelley returns a right which pushes across Naz's face. Shelley gets bent over a little and Naz nds up with him in a semi-headlock. Shelley lands a right to the stomach area. Nazarov is pulling and tugging for all he's worth. Shelley is still bent over and evades a left from Nazarov. Shelley comes up with a wild right and sorta clotheslines Naz around the side of the neck. From here they go into a hug and down they go. Shelley will be penalized 15 yards for the clothesline. No words after the fight.

Jan 28, 2002 2pd 18:36 Todd Simpson @ATL Jeff Odgers
Odgers takes a run at Simpson after the whistle. Both push and shove and Odgers hangs onto Simpson. Simpson comes back with an elbow to Odgers face and then the gloves come off. All grappling and wrestling in this one, Odgers tried throwing a couple rights, but none even come close to landing. Simpson did try to throw one weak right, but other than that Simpson just wrestles Odgers to the ice.

Feb 06, 2002 1pd 02:10 Brad May CHI Ryan VandenBussche
Vandy runs a Coyote into the end boards at the start of the game. Brad May jumps in with gloves off and throws 3-4 punches to the back of VandenBussche who still has his gloves on. Vandy is knocked to one knee, quickly gets up and starts throwing them. Each man is throwing really hard with alot of punches landing. About 5 or 6 huge lefts landed for each man. Very entertaining scrap as each man is throwing quick, huge bombs. Other Penalties: May received a roughing.

Feb 13, 2002 1pd 07:32 Andrei Nazarov @LOS Ryan Flinn
The two came together behind the net. It looked as if Naz landed a decent left and maybe another that knocked Flinn's helmet off. Flinn landed a few punches, maybe four short rights and a quick left. No damage done here either. Naz landed another left to the side of Flinn's head, but it didn't have all that much on it. The guys mostly grappled on the glass behind the net. Refs came in and separated the two. No one fell to the ice.

Mar 05, 2002 3pd 04:46 Todd Simpson NJD Randy McKay
McKay charges into Simpson down near the Phoenix net. Simpson hooks McKay all the way up the ice. McKay turns and faces Simpson while Simpson shoves him. McKay throws a left with his glove on and Simpson responds with a left, then the gloves come off. Both lock up, McKay tries a left (Which failed) and Simpson threw some rights to the back of his head. Not much damage done, as Simpson's punches weren't very powerful. McKay was in real close with Simpson, so he couldn't get much velocity on those. McKay tries to turn but ends up getting off balance and Simpson lands on top of him. Not a great fight.

Mar 12, 2002 1pd 14:56 Andrei Nazarov CHI Aaron Downey
A long squareoff. Nazarov starts off throwing a right that gets blocked by Downey, who was also throwing a punch. Surprisingly Naz didn't start hugging, he grabbed Downey with his right and started throwing several lefts (about 4-5) that were actually connecting. Downey finally gets his left loose and drills Naz with a left. Naz immediately goes down to the ice. Downey continued throwing lefts (none landing). As Nazarov tries to get up, Downey changes hands quickly and starts throwing several rights (also none connecting). The linesmen jump in right away, while Downey continues throwing punch after punch. He actually hit the linesman a couple times.

Mar 17, 2002 3pd 15:12 Landon Wilson @MIN Willie Mitchell
Scrum ensues behind the Coyote goal. Matt Johnson had roughed up Suchy a bit trying to stuff the puck past Esche. Coyotes go after Johnson which brings in all players. Landon Wilson goes after Willie Mitchell and gives him a glove rub, then the drop the gloves. Willie lands the first shot and seems to stun Wilson. More grappling and then Wilson seemed to land a good upper cut which brought the refs in. Other Penalties: Matt Johnson, Darby Hendrickson, Denis Pederson and Brad May received roughings.

Apr 01, 2002 1pd 06:39 Brad May STL Jamal Mayers
Both drop the gloves right off the faceoff. They have a nice long square-off, and Mayers starts off with a left that missed. May counters quickly with a right that didn't connect. Then May got Mayers real good with a right uppercut. Both fighters get off balance and Mayers lifts May's leg up and they fall to the ice. May looked to land a quick left on his way back to his knees. Mayers was possibly stunned by that right, he had a cut on his lip.

Apr 07, 2002 2pd 03:33 Denis Pederson @VAN Bryan Helmer
Pederson runs into Cloutier, both push and shove at one another. Helmer jumps in to protect his goalie, and the gloves come off. Pederson throws 3-4 rights (no damage), Helmer comes back with two rights that hit Pederson's helmet. Both lock each other up pretty well, Pederson gets a left free and throws a couple (he landed one of those). Helmer then wrestles Pederson to the ice. Pederson was cut over his right eye, but it most likely wasn't from a punch. Other Penalties: Pederson received a crosschecking; Helmer an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct; Dan Cloutier a roughing.

Apr 12, 2002 3pd 15:36 Drake Berehowsky MIN Sylvain Blouin
Blouin put a huge hit on Berehowsky behind the Phoenix net. Both slash each other up the ice and the gloves come off. Some grappling to start off, both throw a few rights and then Drake lands a left bomb which stunned Blouin. Blouin gets pissed and starts throwing rights. The first couple didn't land but his last 2-3 did and Berehowsky fell to the ice. Decent fight. Other Penalties: Berehowsky received a slashing; Blouin a double-minor for slashing.
