Comments: Whistle blows, and Richardson goes after Roy quickly dropping the gloves and taking no time to start punching. Richardson is throwing rights, Roy the same. Roy then quickly switches to his left throwing quite a few, although it looked like little landed. The two then started grabbing on to each other pressed up against the boards in the corner. Roy gets off a few more punches that hit the back of Richardson's helmet. The two tire out and the linesmen come in. While being escorted off the ice, Chris Neil gives Richardson a shove. Other Penalties : Chris Neil received a misconduct; Richardson a high sticking and misconduct.

Comments: Chara hits Simon at center ice, Simon didn't like it much and they drop the gloves. Simon flipped his glove into Chara's face and followed that with a stiff left. Chara then throws a couple shots, none landing too significantly. A few more thrown by each, no damage inflicted by either. Simon then with the takedown.

Comments: With a scrum in front of the Senators net, Parker came charging in and engages with Big Z. Parker threw the first, missing it, and Chara threw next and looked to connect. Chara, with his long reach keeping Parker just out of reach, connects with one more. Parker then gets loose and throws 3, landing on one or two before taking down Chara.

Comments: Barnaby basically jumped Chara from behind, threw some while Chara stood there hunched over. Barnaby then pulled/pushed him down. Chara didn't drop his gloves. Chara then receives a roughing a couple of minutes later (with Dave Andreychuk). Not impressive by Big Z (especially when he showed heart against Parker on the 6th). Other Penalties: Barnaby received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct. Zdeno Chara did not receive a fighting major.

Comments: Until I break down the individual fights, here's the brawl description: It all starts when Andre Roy is left behind the play with Felix Potvin, and Roy is kinda tripped by Felix and he gets the gloves up in Potvins face, and pushes him in the face. Potvin then comes back with 2 punches, and then the calvary comes in. Lappy soon entangles himself with Roy. Herperger takes on Modry. Then you see Neil pounding on Eloranta. Mair, seeing the mismatch, comes off the bench to get himself involved with Neil (hello 10-game suspension). Seeing what is going on (Mair making the Sens shorthanded), Hurme comes to jump in and meets Potvin at center ice. Potvin starts by getting the Sens goalie's helmet off. He throws some punches, nothing really landed. They are now by the Sens bench and Hurme can't get his blocker off, so he sticks it into the bench and his teammates take it off for him (that's teamwork baby!). They throw a couple more nothing punches until Potvin throws a haymaker, but misses. They are now broken up, and the brawl is over. Other Penalties: Neil received an instigator (for Eloranta), misconduct and game misconduct; Mair an instigator, misconduct and THREE game misconducts.

Comments: Not much of a fight here, as it's mostly just hugging. Not too many punches were thrown either, but Madden got the WWF-style takedown, as he literally picked up Fisher and slammed him to the ice. Other Penalties: Fisher received an instigator and misconduct.

Comments: After a whistle, these two go deep in the Ottawa defensive zone, only about 2 minutes in. Both are raining punches at all cylinders during this very long fight. At the beginning of the fight, Neil held the upperhand. He landed many punches to the back of Peat's head. Peat is trying to avoid them and get a good grip on Neil. About 20 seconds later, both guys get their hands free and they really start letting them fly. Both guys throwing at least 15 punches, landing more than half. That went on for about 30 seconds. Peat then threw 3 massive bombs to the face of Neil, with all 3 landing. 2 landed directly on the mouth of Neil, it appeared he was bloodied a little. After that flurry of punches, they hold each other against the boards for a few seconds and the linesmen come in.

Comments: Only 14 seconds in, Chara challenges Worrell who obliges. Worrell starts out throwing little jabs to Chara who responds by throwing some little jabs to Worrell. Worrell then throws 3 big rights, 1 which hits the helmet knocking it off, the next hitting Chara on the back/top of the head, and the third missing completely. Worrell's momentum makes him fall. Chara, on his knees also, throws a weak punch at Worrell that hits him in the back.

Comments: Pretty long square off then they go in and grapple for position, Neil gets loose with the left but misses and Stock makes him pay with a couple of nice rights. Neil answers back with a great right, they exchange some more good punches and Stock slips down with Neil throwing a nothing shot while he was down, Stock gets up and throws a wild left which appears to land.

Comments: After a Hal Gill goal puts the B's up 5-1, Neil and Guerin get into it behind the net, Guerin took exception to what looked like a legal hit just as Gill scores, Guerin gets in 3-4 good uppercuts, at this point there is a big scrum behind the net and Lalime gets involved, Dafoe skates down and grabs Lalime and they hug, the linesman now have Guerin and Neil seperated, Guerin landed a lot more punches, but that was from the announcers. Gill and Hnidy are holding each other off and Hnidy lands a couple, Gill just tries to hold him off, not even attempting a punch. Dafoe and Lalime are still hugging and decide to go. Dafoe quickly gets Lalime's mask off and throws about 8 rights, 4 landing before Lalime finally gets Dafoe's mask off and throws a right which misses, Dafoe answers with 4 strong rights. Boynton does a horrible job holding off Fisher and Fisher pushes Boynton back into Lalime and Lalime starts to fall as Dafoe's punch is landing. Other Penalties: Both Players received leaving the crease penalties and game misconducts.

Comments: These two had matching roughings, and Naz comes out of the box and goes right after Chara. Naz gets in some decent lefts to Chara's head. Both guys are pretty defensive. Chara throws Naz down and tries to nail him but the linesmen get in there. Other Penalties: Nazarov received an instigator and misconduct.

Comments: Fair square off sees both men with rights cocked and loaded. Circling. Roy feints in and backs out. Shelley hand gestures "come on in". Roy dives in and grabs on. Shelley tosses a right that connects. Roy just ducks another Shelley right. Roy comes up and grabs on again. In tight. Pushing. Along the boards in front of the Ottawa bench now. Roy misses with a lazy right. Shelley ducks a follow up right. A third right catches Jody's helmet. Shelley gets bent over a bit and a fourth right from Roy is hidden from the camera. Shelley straightens up and lands a right to the side of Roy's face. Roy returns a right of his own which is too short. Shelley lands a right to the back of Roy's helmet but no damage there. A haymaker right from Shelley just misses. A right from Roy is deflected by Shelley's arm. A Shelley right is way off course as Roy had a hold of his sleeve. Roy fires a right which does nothing and another which lands on Jody's shoulder. Shelley can't break Roy's grip on his sleeve so he can't get the right going. Tugging. Shelley is still tied up. He's wanting to goe toe to toe, but Roy is apprehensive. Shelley is able to come over the top with a heavy right and bounces it off of the top of Andre's helmet. Another wild clothesline-like punch around Roy's neck sends both men off balance and down they go. In come the zebras and it's off to the sin bin. Nothing solid landed. Decent fight due to Shelley's aggressiveness.

Comments: Camera gets in as Marshall is coming up off the ice and throwing a wild right landing to Neil's ear. A second right comes up short. Neil misses with a right. Both men are swinging wildly. Here comes Grant again with the right that misses. Neil gets one off that barely makes it to Marshall's face but there's nothing on it when it gets there. They're spinning crazily and Marshall falls to a knee. As he's coming up he lets loose with a straight right that lands to Neil's jaw jolting him backwards. That was a heavy duty punch. Men have been KO'd with those punches before. Beauty! Neil was throwing at the same time and his missed. Another Marshall right crunches into Neil's ear. Neil glances a weak one off of Grant's face. A Marshall right skips off of Neil's helmet. Marshall's shoulder takes a heavy right. In close Grant gets bent over. Neil appears to land a good right to Marshall's head. Marshall skips another right off of the helmet then connects with a solid right to Neil's throat as Neil misses a right. Neil evades a straight right by ducking. He comes up with a nice right to Grant's face. Marshall returns with a right that bounces off of Neil's helmet again. Neil spins around and fires a right which Marshall ducks to avoid. Grant is cursing Neil's helmet now as he connects to it with another right. Neil misses with a right. Another right from Marshall scores to the face. Marshall pushes away from the boards and ducks a Neil right and comes up with a left to the shoulder. Pushing. Marshall loses his balance and falls just in time as a Neil left passes over his head. Down they go and the zebras restore order. This was an "unpretty" fight. Out of control from start to finish but very spirited.

Tied up at first, nothing really landing, they fall to the ice on a miss from Neil. They stand back up and Neil gets the jersey over the head and throws one that puts Lacouture down.

Comments: After the Panthers don't score on 5 minute PP (courtesy Neil) they feel it's payback time. Wiemer goes after Hnidy with 13 seconds left and they go at it. This is a pretty good fight for Wiemer who seems to handle Hnidy and connects with several punches.

Comments: Ference and Arvedson slash each other first then Ference goes after a not so willing Arvedson, they lock up with Brad trying to get Arv's shield off while punching it occasionally. Arv is really just holding on looking around for a ref but none are comming because they are trying to keep Worrell and Leschyshyn apart. They don't have much left at this point. Refs finally break it up. Other Penalties: Ference and Arvedson received slashings; Peter Worrell received a crosschecking and misconduct; Curtis Leschyshyn a misconduct.

Comments: As the two are skating down the surface, Gilmour undercut Alfredsson. Daniel was pretty pissed about it and went straight for Doug. Alfredsson threw an overhand right that missed, but threw Doug off balance. Alfredsson then threw a left that glanced off of Gilmour's face. This takes them both off balance and down they go. Other Penalties: Gilmour received a tripping; Alfredsson a crosschecking.

Comments: They start off grappling and Domi pushes Hnidy up against the Ottawa bench. He lands a left to Hnidy's face. They lock up again and continue to wrestle. Domi's arm gets caught up in his jersey and he tries to free it. When it comes free, he throws a left that lands on Hnidy's arm. He follows it up with a left to Hnidy's shoulder. Domi then lands a left to the back of Hnidy's head. Hnidy comes back late with a left that hits Domi's chest. They again come together and Hnidy falls, bringing in the linesmen.
