Comments: It took place after TB scored their 8th goal. They were both willing and just started throwing in the slot. Snyder was tied up early and Vinny began to connect with lots of rights. Snyder slowed him down for a moment, but Vinny again landed a few rights before they tired and the linesmen came in. Snyder may have gotten 2 weak shots in with no effect at all. For Vinny: 2 goals and a fight, including one beautiful diving one-hander on a breakaway. Other Penalties: Lecalvier received a slashing.

Comments: Off the faceoff they grab on and have a series of toe-to-toe exchanges. Lessard with the lefts, Wiemer with the rights. Wiemer lands an early one that cuts Lessard on the cheek. Then Lessard takes control and lands a couple of more lefts.

Comments: There was a scuffle among players at the boards and away from that, Lessard and Cairns have a go. Cairns knocked him down with a right and waited for him to get up. Then both start landing haymakers at will. Cairns loses his balance, regains himself and continues trading punches with Lessard until they tire and the linesmen come in.

Comments: Starts out as a hugfest, then Rheaume breaks free and gets some good rights in, one of which clearly stuns Ference. A few more hits to the helmuts on both sides and Ference starts to put his head down as the linesmen come in.

Comments: Good brief toe-to-toe scrap. McKenzie began with throwing some lefts, but Lessard answers with some really hard shots that land on the button. They grapple for a few seconds and Lessard lands a hard left that cuts McKenzie under the right eye. Mckenzie is hurt and burries his head in Lessard's chest. He gets a good hold on Lessard's lefts sleeve, locking him out. Then McKenzie tries a big left, Lessard ducks it. Fight over. Mckenzie is bleeding from the eye and behind the ear.

Comments: Good spirited bout. Stevenson was throwing many wild rights. Hard to tell how many landed, but Tamer was really outclassed here.

Comments: Awesome toe-to-toe. Stevenson has his head up throwing lefts over the top, while Cowan counters with lefts of his own. Stevenson then knocks him down with a good shot, but to Cowan's credit he gets back up and continues to battle until the linesmen jump in.

Comments: Odgers is mugging Brown in the neutral zone after the Bruins score an early goal. Both drop em and we're off. Both are throwing fast and hard, each landing about four or five to the mug. Brown's helmet comes off as they continue throwing. Brown goes down on top of Odgers. As they skate off Odgers nose is bleeding. Pretty even fight. Spirited opening to the game.

Comments: Two minutes prior Sutton goes and hits Jason Allison which looks like a knee on knee. Sutton gets a roughing. After Sutton gets out of the penalty box he waits and Lappy is on his way. They both immediately drop the gloves, and Lappy dives right in. They both have a good hold on each others arms and Lappy throws 1 maybe that hit the helmet. Sutton basically took over from there. They have a tight hold and Sutton gets an arm free and throws like 8-9 noogies/short punches that all connect on top of Lappy's head. Linesmen come in and break it up.

Comments: They had been jawing at each other a lot, finally meet up and Domi throws down first with Sutton shortly after. Domi has him spinning right away and both trade bombs, Domi landing two and Sutton landing one. Then they get in tight and hold for a bit. Domi throws one punch, then pulls Sutton's helmet off and gets him spinning. Sutton throws one more big punch that misses and Domi hits him with one, then grazes another. They both fall with Domi landing on top.

Comments: Lessard immediately looks for Vandy off the bench and away they go! Lessard starts off landing a few lefts and Vandy throws a few back. They grapple for a short time while Lessard says a few words, maybe telling him to open up and let the fists fly. Vandy then gets his left arm out of the jersey, but decides to break open with his right hand catching Lessard with a good shot. Then they trade more punches back and forth but not much landing clean. Lessard loses his balance and gets back up. Now the fun begins! Toe-to-toe baby! Both guys just trading punches... lots of them thrown, but again not many clean ones landing because of their positioning. Good, close fight.

Comments: Big surprise, Odgers spills blood in another good toe-to-toe affair. Odgers begins landing the better shots as they trade an equal amount of punches. Strudwick stops as he winces a bit from the Odgers barrage of short rights. They get twisted around and switch hands several times as they continue to land and throw. Strudwick now uses his reach and tosses in 2 good lefts to which Odgers counters with 2 lefts of his own. Good fight but shorter than Lessard/Vandy.

Comments: It starts off the faceoff. Lots and lots of hugging at first. Boulton pulls Lessard's helmet off. A few noogies from Boulton. More wrestling, and finally both guys throw a right. Boulton connects with his, Lessard may have with his. Boulton throws a bunch of short rights to the back of the head, Lessard a couple of hard lefts. They both try the right again, not much happening. Linesmen finally break them up.

Comments: Odgers really got off fast against the bigger Naz. Naz seemed to be controlling him, but Odgers was throwing the entire time. Naz got tagged in the nose (and bloodied pretty good) at some point, not sure which punch caught him. Odgers went to a knee at one point, but he more or less slipped or was wrestled down; and got up and started throwing again. Big heart from Odgers.

Comments: LaCouture puts a huge hit on Sutton at center. Andy gets up and goes after Danny. LaCouture is more then willing to go after a little square off. Sutton grabs and starts to fire rights on the much smaller LaCouture. LaCouture trys to throw rights as well, but is on the defensive. Sutton lands at least one that scrapes Lacouture under the left eye. Sutton then ties him up and throwns him down.

Comments: Starts behind the play as Tamer gave Sutherby a little rough ride. They yap a little and Sutherby sheds the gloves first. They both started firing a couple and Tamer's looked to connect a little better. Toe-to-toe for about 4 punches. Sutherby then takes over and fires 3 unanswered and Tamer goes down. Looked like a slip, not sure if any of Sutherby's shots landed flush.

Comments: At the beginning of the 2nd the B's score 2 quick ones and Atlanta calls time. Odgers is sent out and he challenges Stock along the boards. Good spirited fight with some shots landed by both. Odgers throws a bomb which PJ ducks and Odgers connects with the glass. Ouch!

Comments: The Thrashers get a 2-man advantage and score two goals and over-celebrate a bit. On the ensuing faceoff Brown goes right after Cowan. Cowan throws a couple of lefts, which appear to miss, and then Brown lands a couple putting Cowan to the ice.

Comments: Starts along the center ice line near the penalty boxes after Witt throws a nice hit to Cowan, which he takes exception to and promptly crosschecks Witt. Cowan tosses the gloves first with Witt following and throwing immediate rights, not much landing. Witt then ties up Cowan and throws three straight lefts to Cowan's face that land pretty clean. Cowan then comes back with a pretty good left that stuns Witt, but Cowan then all of a sudden just collapes. He literally fell after landing a good left. Witt then throws two to Cowan's head as he is down on the ice.

Comments: Starts along the boards with both holding on to each other with one arm free. Decent fight, but nothin special. Berry threw a lot, with most only hitting the helmet and a little rabbit punch being the only one that landed. Rheaume probably only threw 2-3 punches, all catching air. Other Penalties: Brian Sutherby received a holding.

Comments: Kovalchuk gets the stick up in Comrie's face, followed by a slash to the shins and off come the gloves. Comrie isn't tied down so the jersey immediately comes off. Kovalchuk raining overhand rights on Comrie as Comrie is trying to find his balance. Comrie gets a few rights in, then they separate. They come together again, and Kovalchuk throws a few more rights, 2 or 3. Comrie comes back with a few of rights of his own, landing his shots nicely. They separate and the fight is over. Other Penalties: Kovalchuk received a high sticking and unsportsmanlike conduct; Comrie a game misconduct.

Comments: The Teacher and the Pupil. Darcy comes out firing the piston. He lands 4 or 5 in rapid succession. One of them to the cheek, opening up some prior stitches. Another opens the bridge of the nose. Odgers fires a few of his own including an uppercut that draws a trickle of blood from Hordi's nose. The old man has had enough and throws the young buck to the floor.

Comments: Arnott hits Tjarnqvist, Sutton comes over. After a long squareoff, they grab, Arnott falls and Sutton throws a few as he falls on top of him. Arnott swung his helmet at Sutton while they were being pulled apart. Other Penalties: Arnott received a misconduct.

Comments: Low rides Cowan into the glass by the bench. Cowan goes down hard but starts to get up and starts skating towards Low. Tamer gets there first and they immediately throw down the gloves. Comments: Leafs take a 3-1 lead. On the next shift Cowan rams Berg into the boards and Belak comes in right away. The gloves are off and Belak has an early start and fires about 9 rights, switches to the left for a shot and back to the right for three shots and Cowan goes down. Comments: Getting totally blown out of the game, Odgers starts jawing with Neil. They both drop the gloves. Odgers lands about 4 or 5 short ones to the side of Neil's head. Neither fighter wants to let go of the other, so they're clutching tight. Odgers finally gets Neil's helmet off, but he's in too tight to do anything. Neil lands a couple of glancing shots and they go down with Neil on top.

Comments: Blouin gets Odgers tied up and unloads 4 to 5 right hands. Hard to tell what landed cleanly. They spin and Blouin slips and falls on his back. About an 8 second long scrap that was basically controlled by Blouin.

Comments: These two drop em after Scatchard is slammed into the crossbar. Wiemer connects with a couple and drops Cowan with a great punch. TKO! Cowan is out on the ground and has trouble getting up. After he gets to his feet, he drops again. Odgers helps him off the ice.

Comments: After a shot on the Atlanta net and the Rangers losing badly, Purinton takes an extra poke at the goaltender. Tamer skates over to move Purinton away, but Purinton just drops the gloves and starts pounding away. He throws four or five punches, mostly to the back of Tamer's head as he tried to get away. The refs are immediately breaking it up, as Tamer was not fighting back. Other Penalties: Purinton received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct; Tamer a roughing. Chris Tamer did not receive a fighting major.

Comments: Domi roughs up young Dan Syder and gets a penalty, next shift Odgers chases Domi down and they go. Starts of with Domi landing one left while in the spin cycle. Odgers lands one himself, then while spinning, Odgers misses one and Domi throws three, one which connects. They fall and on their way up Domi switches hands and connects with a right that hits Odgers right on the nose.

Comments: Odgers is looking to spark the Thrash who are down 2-0 early and challenges Henry in the Caps end after the whistle. They both start grappling at first with Henry throwing some big rights. None are really connecting and Odgers comes back with some of his own rights, with maybe one landing. Henry lands a good late right and takes down Odgers.

Laraque then manhandles Odgers, gets his jersey over his head and goes to town with a flurry of lefts to the face. Down goes Odgers. He seemed overwhelmed by those lefts, hard to tell if it was a TKO.

Comments: Smithson runs Cowan into the boards. Cowan didn't like it and drops his gloves. Some Cowan upper cuts and right hands landing with mostly wrestling from Smithson. Other Penalties: The Atlanta bench received an abusive language minor; Cowan an instigator and misconduct.

Comments: Daneyko cross checked Odgers earlier in the game and Odgers wants payback. When they tie-up in front of the net, Odgers starts to hit him with his stick and they drop 'em. Daneyko drives him into the boards as Odgers gets in short rights to the side of the head, then Daneyko got in a nice left hook as they were hugging and then Daneyko had the take down.

Comments: These two get two min. for roughing and go right out of the box. They both grapple for position and Exelby started trying to throw the left and looked to connect with two. A lot of tugging and swaying back and forth. Hnidy tried to throw some rights, but nothing really connected. They hug some more and the linesmen come in.

Comments: Starts at the side of the Atlanta net. Tamer comes out firing first. He fires off about 5 shots or so that go unanswered. Almost looked to hurt Neil. Neil comes back with a few, but Chris is between the camera and Tamer so it's hard to tell if anything was landed. Looked like a few shots perhaps and he pulls Tamer off-balance and he goes down while Neil throws another shot or two.

Comments: Neil's looking for a fight and these two are talking and skating at center ice, they both drop em and each throw some fists. Couldn't tell if much landed, but they fall and get back up. Cowan throws some nothing punches at the back of Neil's head and the linesmen jump in. Right after Cowan/Neil scrap, Odgers plays his usual big brother role and Chara takes exception. The gloves come off and Odgers goes to throw a couple before it's quickly broken up. Other Penalties: Cowan and Neil each received a roughing; Jeff Odgers and Zdeno Chara each received misconducts.

Comments: Ling starts gummin in the Atlanta zone, and drops the gloves first. Cowan accepts and throws 2-3 punches to the helmet/head of Ling right off the start, only landing one good one. Ling spins Cowan around for a bit trying to work with the sweater. More grappling now as Ling gets Cowan's jersey up over his head and lands a couple soft jabs. The linesmen see the jersey and come in and it's over.

Comments: McKenzie meets up with Lessard in the neutral zone and gives him a tug. They both immediately throw the gloves off and grab on. Lessard gets agressive right away, landing about 4-5 lefts. McKenzie then throws two rights which come up short. Then Lessard lands a couple more, they hug and in comes Kevin Collins.

Comments: Stevenson and Odgers hook each other going after the puck, and Stevenson knocks it toward center ice to Rheaume, who is nailed by the freight train Exelby. Turner immediately pursues Exelby and they mutually drop the gloves. Nice squareoff, shedding the elbows and Turner adjusts his helmet ready to fire. They grab on and Exelby lands a couple of short rights, and then they grapple. Turner then misses with a left, then lands one nicely, cutting Exelby on the bridge of his nose. Exelby then is getting ready to fire, but loses his balance and they both fall. This fight was mostly a grapple match and it lasted about 15 seconds, decent fight for what it was.

Comments: Tamer crosschecks Vladimir Orszagh across the face on the faceoff. Walker immediately goes after Tamer with the rights. Walker throws three rights, one connecting to the forehead of Tamer. Tamer throws two rights that come up empty. It's all Walker from here on. He throws three or four pretty good rights, connecting with Tamer's chin a couple of times. Tamer's jersey gets up over his face and he ducks his head. Walker throws about four more to Tamer's forehead and helmet, driving him to his knees. The linesmen come in and try to break them up and Walker throws two or three uppercuts that might have connected. Other Penalties: Tamer received an attempt to injure match penalty; Walker an instigator and misconduct.

Comments: 13 seconds in, these two drop the gloves, and waste little time getting into it. Lessard is landing some hard lefts and Boulton is responding with rights in a pretty good toe to toe exchange. Lessard gets the better of it by landing many more, and it's basically just grabbing after that. Lessard slams Boulton into the boards, Boulton throws a few more rights, and the linesmen come in.

Comments: Big scrum after the whistle, everyone gets into it. Cowan and Fitzpatrick tie up and fall, drawing roughing minors. Boulton is trying to get at Exelby, but is being held off. Mair hooks up with Simon. Simon kicked Mair's legs out, and Mair was off-balance for the entire fight, and couldn't get anything going. Simon landed a few lefts. Other Penalties: Rory Fitzpatrick received a roughing; Jeff Cowan a roughing and misconduct; Boulton a misconduct.

Comments: The two drop their gloves and squareoff. Lessard is ducking real low and as the two come in to each other he has an upward motion that wobbles Godard a bit. Godard quickly regains his balance and these two open up and start chucking them hard! Godard with the rights, Lessard with the lefts. Nice and even at this point. They spin a bit, still throwing and this one's already a good one. Lessard now starts getting in a few unanswered shots and it's starting to look like that could be it when Godard returns fire with some really powerful shots - one makes Lessard's knees half-buckle, but he didn't go down on that one or the next shot which was almost as hard. It's looking like this could be the end and the linesmen come in fast. Nice showing by both guys, great fight.
