The Devs were on the penalty kill and Hale and Clymer got mixed up. They both kinda look at one another and toss off the gloves. Hale gets in postion and tries a short right, which fails. Clymer jabs a short left and Hale tries a right, which seemed to graze Clymer. THe rest of the fight they were both just holding on and they were fatigued.

After a lackluster first period, Focht tries to wake the Pens up by goading Rupp into a fight. Focht grabbed Rupp's stick as he skated away making it clear what he wanted to do. They drop em and squareoff. While skating Rupp suprises Focht with a left to the throat as he skates backwards. They both have the jerseys with their lefts. Rupp has his right cocked wide and awkardly. Rupp, unaware of were he is, slams backward into the boards as they both miss with rights. Rupp, with his head down, throws a blind right into Focht's neck. Focht apears to land a decent uppercut on Rupp, snapping his head and bringing him upright, then Rupp misses a ducking Focht. Focht throws five weak uppercuts into Rupp's armpit while Rupp misses two more overhand rights. They twirl, Rupp again has his right cocked way behind his back, and Focht throws another weak uppercut while Rupp jersey-jabs him with his left. Focht does likewise, pushing Rupp's face with his left four times. Rupp finally throws an overhand right looking to connect on Focht's temple, and as Focht throws a right that misses, Rupp lands an off-balance, but head-snapping right to Focht's jaw. Rupp's completely off-balance and is hunched over facing away from Focht now who just pushes him down to the ice.

White is skating into the zone and O'Donnell is standing up at the blueline. The sticks get high and the gloves come off. Colin started off well, and lands what looked like two decent shots before O'Donnell got him tied up again. Sean came back with one really good shot that landed flush on Colin's chin before the linesmen jumped in and broke it up.

Stevenson drills Lapointe and in comes Fridge. They drop em and Fridge quickly gets the left going. Turner answers and they go toe to toe, both throwing lefts for a five seconds or so. Turner then pops Fridge in the head and knocks his helmet off. Fridge answers with a few lefts and knocks Stevenson down to a knee.

Off the faceoff they agree to go. Nice squareoff, Bouloton tries to grab on, but Stevenson gets his hand out of his jersey, so they squareoff some more, then grab on. Boulton has his left hand wrapped around Stevenson's neck and they are trading rights to the back and side of each other's helmets while spinning around. Boulton then throws Stevenson to the ice.

Right at the faceoff that started the third period Stevenson and Simon drops the gloves. Simon tries about five punches and connects with a couple in the back of the head and gets the takedown. Stevenson tried a couple, but didn't really connect with anything.

Down 4-0 Peters sends Stevenson an invitation. They squareoff, come together and Peters starts with a couple rights, maybe landing one. Stevenson throws a couple of his own, all connecting to helmet and side of the head. Stevenson slips to the ice and Peters throws in one more as the linesmen come in.

They drop the gloves quicly and get right down to business with no attempt to remove the buckets, both throwing punches with mean intentions. They each connect with a couple of glancing rights, with the better shots being landed by Erskine which causes Marshall to go a little off balance. Erskine uses his height to take advantage of this situation and unloads with a bomb with his right hand sending Marshall down.

Marshall comes back for revenge against Erskine who is more than willing to oblige, but the linesmen decide they don't want to see this matchup. Once again there is no attempt to get helmets off, just both guys throwing big time rights. Only this time the linesman is the one on the receiving end and he takes a huge shot from Erskine.

With the Devils leading 3-0, Sutton decides to stir things up. They get to it with both players up against the boards. They are all tied up, lots of hugging in-close. They both try to get an arm loose but to no avail. After lots of noogies and hugging Sutton manages to take down White.

Late in the second period these two go at it. Fairly spirited bout with both firing at will. They both connect with a couple of hard punches before they tumble to the ice. Good fight.

Rupp and Nichol are exchanging pleasantries near the benches and White skates over, as does Moen, and the gloves fly. No squareoff. They both grab on and are slightly off-balance. They both get rights free and bring them back cocked, but since they are both off-balance they are unable to throw anything. Eventually, White throws one that does little damage. They spin around and Moen throws a right that appears to come up short. Moen then lands a decent punch that forces the off-balanced White to stumble. He gets up and takes down Moen to end the scrap.

Asham and Hale come together and exchange shoves and high-sticks on the near-boards. The Devils came out flat and trailed 2-0, so Hale tries to spark the team. He drops the gloves grabs on and finally Asham obliges. Asham throws a good uppercut that connects flush and then Hale lands overhand right. They each throw a few rights, both connecting at least twice. Asham lands the better shots, one very solid. Eventually Asham gets Hale over and he falls to a knee. Hale then gets back up and takes down Asham. Asham came away from the scrap with a bloody jersey, trickling down from a spot near his eye that was opened from a high stick right before the bout. Other Penalties: Hale received an instigator and misconduct.

This started from a hit Buchy put on White. They skate several feet having words, then they decide to drop em. This one was all White. He landed three quick rights, got Buchy tangled up, then threw two more that glanced of the side of Buchy's helmet. White then got the takedown. Buchy didn't even throw a punch.

Off the draw they go right at it. Perrott early with some lefts, and Skrlac with the rights, mostly with his head down. Perrott slipped to a knee and quickly straighten up. As he got up he threw a few more lefts and they get into a hug. They get into a grapple at this point, no punches able to be thrown. After a short struggle, Perrott winds up flipping Skrlac to the ice.

Early in the second period, Peat throws an elbow at Skrlac. Skrlac follows him down the ice and challenges him. A pretty long fight with Peat landing a lot of shots in the beginning. Skrlac seemed to land a few good ones as well, but Peat unloaded on him a few times. The linesmen almost break it up along the boards, but both guys want more. They throw a few more as they get to the middle of the ice and it is finally broken up. Skrlac may have had a little blood on his nose, and Peat ended up without a jersey.

Right at center ice they go at it early in the first period. A good fight with lots of punches thrown. More by Skrlac, but Boulerice possibly landed more quality shots. Skrlac either tired out or got stung by a punch towards the end. He stopped trying to throw'em and grabbed Jesse with both hands and wrestled him down.

Right off the faceoff these two shed the gloves and start firing toe to toe. Skrlac with lefts and Lessard with rights. Lessard's throwing and landing many more then Skrlac is. Skrlac gets Lessard's jersey pulled half over as they're grappling and starting to fall into the Devils' bench. They tie each other up for good and the linesmen come in.

Devs take a 3-0 lead and you know something is about to brew. Shelley hits Sean Brown behind the net and challenges him. Both are throwing rights. Shelley tries with a huge uppercut and misses. Looks like Brown tagged him once since Shelley is bleeding above the lip. It really didn't look like anyone landed any solid punches, but Brown landed at least that one.

Shortly after the Devils score the first goal, Grant Marshall and Reed Low go after each other during a commercial break. An abbreviated replay is shown later on. It looked like Low got a couple of punches in while Marshall missed with some big ones. These two end up with their heads butting together while holding each other off for the entire second half of the fight, then the linesmen step in.

Devils go up by two and Salvador hits Stevenson. They start skating away and then Salvador turns around and drops one glove. They look at each other and decide to go, no squareoff. They grapple for a bit and Salvador throws a few, two of which seem to at least land decently. Turner comes back with a few lefts of his own, and as Salvador throws a right, Turner throws one that lands flush. That gets Bryce off-balance and Turner takes him down.

With the Devils now down 3-0, Brown jumps into the play and as the puck is cleared out of the zone he doesn't retreat. He meets up with May, and the gloves fly. Long squareoff. They both dive in and grab a hold of each other. They both throw a couple of lefts that either come up short or do very little damage. Brown comes with a quick right that lands decently and gets both of them off-balance. Brown then pulls the falling May, but May is able to keep his footing and falls atop Brown to end the fight.

The Rangers are in the offensive zone and Brodeur makes a couple of great saves. The puck goes into the corner and these two are already going at it. They're hugging, in-tight, each throwing some left noogies, possibly three each, then they grapple to the ice.

Oliwa starts hooking Marshall at center ice trying to get him to turn around and go. They get close to the blue line and Marshall turns arounds and flings off his gloves and throws a left that hits Oliwa's shoulder. Oliwa then tries to grab on to Marshall with his left. Marshall tries another left when Oliwa grabs on. Marshall's left comes up a foot short and Oliwa jerks Marshall forward and Marshall falls to his knees. While Marshall is on his knees Oliwa throws a right that looks like it hits Marshall's helmet. Marshall gets back to his feet and they start to grapple for position. Marshall tries two rights, the first hits Oliwa's back, and Oliwa ducks under the second one. The second punch's momentum throws Marshall forward and Oliwa gets Marshall bent over and Oliwa throws three uppercuts that all either hit helmet or face, can't tell due to camera angle. Marshall regains his composure and Marshall and Oliwa start throwing simultaneous punches, Oliwa goes with the right and Marshall with the left. Oliwa's first punch hit either Marshall's sternum or face and Marshall's punch hit Oliwa's shoulder or helmet. Marshall's and Oliwa's second punch look like they connect well. Marshall's third punch hits Oliwa's left shoulder and Oliwa's looks like it lands flush to Marshall's jaw and either staggers Marshall a little or makes him lose his balance. While Marshall is trying to regain his balance Oliwa tries two rights, both go over Marshall's head. They grapple some with Oliwa doing a lot of pulling trying to get better position. Oliwa pulls back the right and looks to connect hard and jars Marshall's head to the right. Oliwa goes with another right that hits Marshall's left shoulder. They grapple some more and Marshall tries a left, but Oliwa fends off the punch with his right arm. Marshall tries another left that Oliwa also fends off with his right. After that exchange they begin to grapple for position and get in real close and the linesmen decide it's time to come in and the fight's over.

Mair bumps Brodeur and Hale comes over. Mair drops the gloves and catches Hale by surprise a bit, getting a few lefts in. Hale drops the gloves and starts throwing back. Mair goes with lefts, Hale throws rights. Lots of wild punches thrown, not much landing effectively. They fall down with Hale on top.

Zhitnik shoves Brylin from behind into the boards. Langenbrunner isn't happy about that and comes in. They shed the gloves and grab on, but a stick gets caught between them. They just wrestle, and Zhitnik's jersey appears to come up. They fall over and Langenbrunner might have thrown a few when they were down. Other Penalties: Zhitnik received a cross checking; Langenbrunner an instigator and misconduct.

Boulerice hits Stevenson midway through the first period and the two decide to go. After skating half-way across the ice the two engage in a short bout. Stevenson is the aggressor early, but doesn't land anything and can't pull Boulerice down. Boulerice then takes over and lands a couple of solid punches while pulling Stevenson down.

Stevenson lightly checks Strudwick along the boards. They give each other shots and then grab on. Pretty long fight with not too many power-punches thrown. Each man maybe landed one half-way solid punch. Many to the helmet before they hit the ice.

After Leighton freezes the puck Vandy and Grant give a couple of love taps and then each guy quickly drops the gloves with Marshall throwing a good quick shot and Vandy responding with his own. Great long fight with each man getting in some solid shots to the face. Marshall landed two beauties on the button, but all Vandy did was smile and throw two harder ones back at Grant. Both men agree to stop to end it.

Brashear crushes Brylin with a check into the boards and Sean Brown goes after him. Mostly hugging at first by Brown, who's trying to stay in-close. Brown throws one or two weak rights that connect but do little damage. Brashear gets loose near the end and feeds him 4-5 nice uppercuts and rights before the linesmen break it up. Other Penalties: Brown received an instigator and misconduct; Brashear a boarding.

Gionta is cross checked hard in front of the Thrashers' net and bounces back up not impressed he goes after Majesty. Colin White comes over and eventually everyone else joins the scrum in front of the net. A few moments later Sutton and White are paired off with Sutton throwing rights early. White is mostly holding on but gets in a few shots as well, hard to tell if anyone landed anything. White goes for the takedown and Sutton spins him as they fall, going on top of White and throwing a couple punches while they're down. Other Penalties: Patrick Elias a roughing and misconduct; Brian Gionta a cross checking; Shawn McEachern a double roughing; Ivan Majesky a roughing.

Simon takes a run at Rasmussen next to the Thrashers bench, but he's the one that goes down. Rasmussen gives him a shot to the back of the helmet. Simon responds with a gloved punch. Rasmussen drops them and starts firing away with rights. Simon was hanging on for most of the fight.

Both talking inside the Isles blueline. They drop them and squareoff. Marshall starts to throw lefts, two of which looked to land good. Cairns is a bit off-balance as he's throwing rights. Marshall switches back to the rights. Cairns starts to use his size and gets Marshall off-balance and starts to land a few rights. Cairns lands about four or five rights to the back of Marshall's head as he's a bit hunched over and off-balance and then the linesmen come in.

Camera gets there late. Murray comes up high on Hale some time after he gets rid of the puck. They talk a bit, then drop em. Both throw about three, not much landing. Murray tackles Hale hard to the ice at the end.
