It starts off when Stevens knees Jeff O'Neill, and Battaglia goes after Stevens. Stevens throws about five or six punches right to the face of Battaglia sending him to the ice near the other players surrounding them. Other Penalties: Stevens received a kneeing; Battaglia an instigator and misconduct.

It starts right after the Stevens-Battaglia fight. At the faceoff both players are talking and they throw off the gloves. Jim throws about six or sevens bombs that look to hit Landgon on the side of the head or helmet. Then Landgon tries to hug McKenzie, but Jim will not have any of that. Landgon tries to come back with some rights and lefts while trying to get loose from McKenzie. They both end up across the ice near the boards. Langdon manages to throw a right that knocks the helmet of McKenzie off. McKenzie then tries to throw some more punches, but both players are tired and the linesmen break it up along the boards.

Good brief toe-to-toe scrap. McKenzie began with throwing some lefts, but Lessard answers with some really hard shots that land on the button. They grapple for a few seconds and Lessard lands a hard left that cuts McKenzie under the right eye. Mckenzie is hurt and burries his head in Lessard's chest. He gets a good hold on Lessard's lefts sleeve, locking him out. Then McKenzie tries a big left, Lessard ducks it. Fight over. Mckenzie is bleeding from the eye and behind the ear.

Good spirited bout. Stevenson was throwing many wild rights. Hard to tell how many landed, but Tamer was really outclassed here.

Awesome toe-to-toe. Stevenson has his head up throwing lefts over the top, while Cowan counters with lefts of his own. Stevenson then knocks him down with a good shot, but to Cowan's credit he gets back up and continues to battle until the linesmen jump in.

McKenzie checks Thornton against the boards. Thornton hooks him, and they both drop the gloves. All grappling, but Thornton was really trying to get an arm free. McKenzie had the death grip on and was content without throwing a punch. Don't believe there was a punch thrown.

Occurs after someone runs into Markkanen. A pretty good tilt that started a bit slow. Marchant controlled the fight at the start, Gionta came back and Marchant took over at the end again. They both landed a couple of decent blows. Other Penalties: Niinimaa received a roughing; Nieuwendyk a double roughing.

Lindsay lays a big time hit on Devils d-man Brian Rafalski. Scott Stevens takes exception and tries to get at Lindsay, but is met and tied up by Sylvain Blouin. Rafalski grabs Lindsay to hold on, while Jim MacKenzie throws the gloves off and tries to get at Blouin but nothing doing the linesmen are there. Danton comes roaring in and grabs Lindsay and separates from the pack where they attempt to throw haymakers from hell with the rights. Looks like Lindsay's shots might have connected, while definitely not flush, with some force. They go toe to toe exchanging with the rights, Lindsay looks to have a slight advantage, then stumbles. Danton pulls him down and the fight is over. While skating off Danton is bleeding a bit over the eye.

Danton slashes Barnaby and a few seconds later the two are face to face and Barnaby challanges him. Danton obliges and away go the gloves. Danton comes out swinging, but isn't landing a thing. He rips Barnaby's helmet off, but still isn't landing anything as Barnaby is just letting him tire himself out. Barnaby decides to throw a few finally, but he, like Danton, can't land a thing. Every punch in this fight was coming up short. They finally do exchange a few noggies and after an eternity of nothing, the linesmen come in and break it up. Danton was way more active in this fight easily throwing double the punches Barnaby did, too bad nothing was connecting.

Starts off when Shelley gets his stick and are all tangled up in McKenzie's arm and then the gloves come off. They tie each other up and can't get anything going. Then Shelley gives a quick shove and then pops McKenzie in the right temple. Then Big Jim starts throwing some and it looks like Shelley knew he could be in trouble so he gets in close to McKenzie and keeps his head turned to the side while Jim just keeps pounding on the back of Shelley's helmet. After about 5 pops of knuckle on helmet, Jim tries to pull off Shelley's helmet but it looks like Jim realizes that Shelley still has the nose problem and the linesmen come in.

The two jockey for position in front of the Caps net and Henry asks Stevenson to dance and the gloves come off with a lot of hugging going on. Henry gets his right arm out of his jersey and Stevenson falls on him and the linesmen jump in. Majors?

Worrell checked Tverdovsky with an elbow and McKenzie jumped in and challenged Worrell with a couple quick, but weak punches, and quickly got the helmet off Worrell as well. Both guys tied each other up pretty well and hardly anything happened. Worrell mostly focused on pulling the helmet off of McKenzie, but had big problems doing so. The linesmen separated the guys after a short time. Other Penalties: McKenzie received an instigator and misconduct.

Happens behind the play. When the camera gets there White throws one punch that looked to miss, then Worrell throws two rights that land fairly well. White decides just to tie up as Worrell keeps swinging and hitting the back of the head and shoulder area of White.

Stevenson landed a huge right, and Dingman came forward slightly and fell down. He was back up in a split second, but the linesmen jumped in. Dingman then put his hand on his nose, and looked at his fingers, as if he thought he might be bleeding.

Sarich levels Pandolfo and White comes right over. Pretty blah fight, each landed a couple of punches, nothing of significance. However White was bleeding pretty good, might have been a helmet cut. Other Penalties: Sarich received an obstrcution interference; White an instigator and misconduct.

While Florida scores to cut the Devil's lead to 2-1, Worrell and McKenzie are in each other's faces talking. They nod to each other and drop the gloves after the goal, beginning the fight in a hug. After several weak jabs by both heavyweights, McKenzie gets loose first and seems to land 2 rights. Then Worrell switches hands and lands a few rights of his own. After this, the two hug, throw a few weak jabs that don't connect, and wait for the linesmen.

Rupp and Asham drop em and grapple for position after a rather long squareoff. Rupp lands a couple. Asham comes back with a few lefts after he changes position. Rupp switches hands and lands a couple more. Now Asham gets Rupp turned around and pops him with some real nice shots against the bench. Rupp skates away a little bloody and has to go off for repairs.

McKenzie lands 2 right in the beginning of the fight, then proceeds to fire 7 more that hit shoulder pad, then presses Boulerice against the boards and throws 1 or 2. Then Boulerice gets Jim with 2 good shots and that’s when Jim stops throwing and begins to hug while Boulerice fires them when he can. At the end Boulerice lands a beauty when the linesmen start to come in.

It happens quickly away from the play, sort of a mutual thing. The gloves come off fast and Marchment goes with the lefts, Stevenson with the rights. Both guys try with several of each and Stevenson goes down with Mush on top. Marchment looked to be doing better and he may have landed something, where as Turner didn't get anything in.

This one started after the Devils jumped out to two quick goals. Brashear is just trying to give the Flyers a little life. Brashear pushes McKenzie against the glass and Jim says let's go. They square off and both land some weak punches back and forth. Brashear looked to land at least one good one. Average fight, neither could get loose. Seemed like Brashear was actually trying to open up, while Jim wanted to stay in close.

Mac and Stevenson go at it behind the net. The camera was a little late getting there, but when it does they're both swinging wildly. Each guy seems to get in a couple decent punches, then Mac muscles Stevenson down and it's over.

McKenzie wanted McKenna right off the faceoff, right after the pens went up 2-0. They were both throwing, but then Steve's right arm got tied up in his jersey and his elbow pad was down around his wrist so he couldn't throw. McKenzie just teed off on him with lefts from there and McKenna had to bail.

Good square off, lots of hand movement by Oliwa. They come together and get tight. McKenzie appears to land one or two short rights, then Oliwa answers with one. They clutch each other and go down to their knees and it is broken up. Not much, 10 seconds at best.

Stevenson hits Willie Mitchell hard into the boards and slashes him trying to get a reaction out of Willie. Then Brown comes right over and pushes Turner and it's on. Brown starts out getting a few week shots in and then they grapple for position. Stevenson gets his right free and throws a couple of big shots that don't connect. Brown slips to the ice, but gets up again and they wrestle for the rest of the fight and Brown gets the take down.

Daneyko cross checked Odgers earlier in the game and Odgers wants payback. When they tie-up in front of the net, Odgers starts to hit him with his stick and they drop 'em. Daneyko drives him into the boards as Odgers gets in short rights to the side of the head, then Daneyko got in a nice left hook as they were hugging and then Daneyko had the take down.

Earlier in the period Stevenson drops the gloves with Purinton, who just turns away. Stevenson gets 2 minutes for unsportsmanlike and looks disgusted that Purinton wouldn't go. Later, they both drop the gloves, but the camera got there very late. Purinton was trying to get his hand free from his jersey, threw a few wild punches that didn't seem to land, and then Purinton falls on top of Stevenson.

They drop the gloves and quickly grab on and throw some rights. Each man actually comes up short in his effort as the other guy is holding him at the elbows and neither has the reach (or loose jersey) advantage to get one through. They loosen up just a bit and get in a couple of shots, no one damaging or stinging the other one. They've been skating about during this moving from mid-ice towards the boards. They get towards a wall while grappling and Roy falls, McKenzie doesn't throw, linesmen come in.

They drop the gloves and each try and fire away. Pandolfo might have landed an initial shot, and then Sarich lands two rights while quickly gaining control. Pandolfo loses his balance and goes down (not really from a punch, but Sarich out-muscling him).

McKenzie meets up with Lessard in the neutral zone and gives him a tug. They both immediately throw the gloves off and grab on. Lessard gets agressive right away, landing about 4-5 lefts. McKenzie then throws two rights which come up short. Then Lessard lands a couple more, they hug and in comes Kevin Collins.

Stevenson and Odgers hook each other going after the puck, and Stevenson knocks it toward center ice to Rheaume, who is nailed by the freight train Exelby. Turner immediately pursues Exelby and they mutually drop the gloves. Nice squareoff, shedding the elbows and Turner adjusts his helmet ready to fire. They grab on and Exelby lands a couple of short rights, and then they grapple. Turner then misses with a left, then lands one nicely, cutting Exelby on the bridge of his nose. Exelby then is getting ready to fire, but loses his balance and they both fall. This fight was mostly a grapple match and it lasted about 15 seconds, decent fight for what it was.

Marshall's was pretty busy early in this one. First he knocked Kenny Jonsson out with a big hit and later took two minutes for dropping them with Cairns, who wouldn't oblige. Now Webb wants payback for the hit on Jonsson and hooks Marshall as they skate behind the play. The mitts come off and they trade wild bombs for about 10 or 15 seconds. Marshall got an early start landing a couple of big rights. Webb fires some lefty haymakers, landing about two or three out of five. Now Webb is off-balance from throwing bombs. Marshall takes advantage and unleashes a few lefts of his own. Webb falls and Marshall quickly after. Webb skates away with a little blood on his face.
