Nov 10, 2002 3pd 12:53 Cale Hulse @COL Greg de Vries
Comments: De Vries hits Hulse hard into the boards right after Hulse comes out of the box. Hulse is pissed and they go. At first it looked like de Vries was going to slap him, yes slap, then Hulse throws a right and de Vries comes back with quite a few, one actually stunning Hulse a bit. Hulse gets some good ones in and it's broken up.

Dec 08, 2002 1pd 08:56 Reid Simpson @ANA Kevin Sawyer
Comments: Simpson slashed Sawyer and received a penalty the first shift together. The next time the two were on the ice they immediately come together along the boards and throw the gloves off. A whole lotta dancin goin' on in this one. They have death holds on each other's jersey the entire fight. They take turns throwing weak rights with nothing looking to land flush. They finally get tired of dancing and the linesmen come in.

Dec 30, 2002 3pd 19:41 Cale Hulse OTT Mike Fisher
Comments: The Sens were pressing in the last minute, Nashville cleared the puck and Redden and Walker were in a footrace for it. Redden won the race, but Walker gave him a little shove and then everyone came in. Chara was after Walker, but they were just tangled up more then anything. The only real fight was Hulse and Fisher, and Hulse being much bigger controlled the fight. Gave Fisher a few good rights, then when Fisher got his jersey over his head, Hulse tagged him with a right that sent him down. Other Penalties: Wade Redden, Zdeno Chara, Rem Murray and Scott Walker each received a double roughing; Hulse received a roughing.

They holdn for about five seconds, then Hall gets in two pretty good rights to Morris' forehead. Morris comes back with a couple of rights to the top of Hall's head. They both trade a few more shots that miss and Hall falls on top. Other Penalties: Peter Forsberg received an interference.

Jan 01, 2003 2pd 18:29 Scott Hartnell COL Dan Hinote
Comments: Preds are down 6-2 and Hartrnell decides to try and spark the team. He and Hinote come together at center ice and talk and Hartnell skates away. They come together again a few seconds later and drop the gloves. Lots of grappling in this one. Both had their arms tied up in their jerseys. Hartnell gets his out first and lands a coule of rights to the top of Hinote's head. Hinote comes back with a noogie shot, then they wrestle for a few more seconds. Then they both fall to the ice.

Jan 01, 2003 3pd 17:11 Scott Hartnell COL Dan Hinote
Comments: Hartnell hits Muir and they talk all the way to the benches. Muir skates away and Hinote asks Hartnell if he wants to go again and Hartnell obliges. When they drop the gloves the linesman try to hold them apart. He forced them over to the Preds bench, finally the linesman got out of the way. Hartnell and Hinote both throw a couple of quick rights, then they tie each other up and lean over the benches. Then the linesmen come in.

Jan 06, 2003 1pd 01:29 Reid Simpson @CBJ Jody Shelley
Comments: They have a nice squareoff before Shelley starts swinging at Simpson with a couple of punches that miss. Then they start going toe-toe, but it looks like they are missing on some of the punches. They start to hug a little bit, then Shelley lands a punch to the side of Simpson before the referees finally jump in. Other Penalties Simpson received an unsportsmanlike conduct.

Jan 11, 2003 2pd 18:24 Cale Hulse PHO Kelly Buchberger
Comments: This fight starts as the Nazarov-Buchberger-Hordichuk line is out on the ice. Naz skates about a half a shift, comes off and enter Mike Johnson. Johnson skates over to the side boards and grabs the puck, only to be met with a check from behind from Scott Hartnell. Everybody gathers in as Hordichuk is running around and facewashing everyone, and that includes Bill Houlder. Hulse sees this and goes after Hordi only to be met by Kelly Buchberger. Buchberger steps in front of Cale, pushes him backwards and they drop em. A fair squareoff, as everyone on the ice stops pushing and watches. Hulse makes the first move, jumping in and landing a right jab to Kelly's chin. Kelly then grabs on and the hold, with Hulse having a considerable height advantage. They grapple, try to find position and get set. Kelly misses a left cross and falls out of his recently gained position and Hulse lands a pretty nice right. That irks Kelly and he buries his head into Hulse and throws three rights and coming up short each time. To throw those rights, he had to let go of Cale's left. Big mistake. Cale brings up his left and lands a hard straight left to Buchberger's cheek. This was the best punch of the fight. Buchberger tries to hold on, but then Hulse takes him down. Other Penalties: Mike Johnson, Scorr Hartnell and Darcy Hordichuk received roughings.

Jan 14, 2003 2pd 10:38 Clarke Wilm @VAN Bryan Allen
Comments: Wilm makes accidental contact with Cloutier and Allen doesn't like it much. When the camera gets to them they both have the gloves off and both are in pretty tight. Niether looked too interested at first, then Allen tried a right that came up short, but then landed a decent left. Wilm countered with 2 rights of his own, one coming up short and one knocking Allen's helmet off. Allen throws a left that catches Wilm right on the chin, but it didn't do damage. While Allen was throwing the left Wilm managed to get his out of his jersey and unload 2 haymakers, one coming up short and the other one landing to the back of the head or neck of Allen. The punches kinda knocked Wilm off balance and Allen throws one more left that knocks an off balance Wilm down and Allen falls on top.

Jan 16, 2003 2pd 05:43 Reid Simpson @CAL Steve Montador
Comments: Montador is a bit aggravated at a hard hit Simpson laid in the corner, so he wants to go, and they do. Simpson takes him to school too. Montador realizes early that he should have just gone to the bench and left things alone as he eats a few Simpson punches. Montador ends up bent over while Reid pummels his back and shoulders. Other Penalties: Simpson received a high sticking.

Jan 21, 2003 3pd 20:00 Reid Simpson VAN Bryan Allen
Comments: As soon as the puck drops Allen drops the gloves and lunges forward, then the camera goes to the crowd. When they get back to the action they are both tied up by the linesmen and still trying to get at each other. Allen was pissed as two refs had to tackle him as he was still trying to get Simpson, as he was escorted off he was still swearing and trying to get at any other Nashville player. Majors?

Jan 23, 2003 2pd 02:03 Reid Simpson NYR Gordie Dwyer
Comments: Dwyer lays a vicious check on Denis Arkhipov. Simpson immediately goes after Gordie. They come together and Dwyer ties Simpson up. Reid finally gets his right free and lands three good rights to the side of Dwyer's face. Simpson loses his balance and Dwyer takes him down to the ice. Dwyer had a nice mouse under his right eye and was dabbing at a cut on the bridge of his nose while in the box.

Comments: They meet up, have a few words and drop the gloves. Standing square off and they grab a hold of each other. Shelley throws a right that lands on the cheek, and then throws a big right that hits side helmet, which combined with a balance issue for Simpson, puts Reid down. With Simpson getting up, Shelley throws a right to the back of the helmet and then a right cross that lands square. Feb 11, 2003 1pd 09:27 Reid Simpson LOS Kip Brennan
Comments: Radio descrip: Nick Nickson and Darryl Evans on Kings radio calling the action. They spin around, nothing landing for a while. Long fight, but not too much action according to Nickson. Finally, Simpson gets free, lands a right and then a left which knocks Brennan down, doesn't sound like too much damage, but definitely an advantage for Simpson.

Feb 13, 2003 1pd 13:01 Scott Hartnell NYI Arron Asham
Comments: Both players shed their gloves and helmets at center ice. Nice squareoff, then Hartnell lunges in with a wild right. Asham gets out of position while ducking Hartnell's right. Hartnell throws a two or three more rights, with maybe one landing. Asham throws a couple of rights that don't land. Hartnell misses with another right. Asham gets Hartnell's jersey over his head and throws an uppercut before the refs rush in. Couldn't tell if the uppercut landed. Entertaining fight, but not a lot landed.

Feb 25, 2003 3pd 19:05 Clarke Wilm CBJ Tyler Wright
Comments: This fight happened because of a Wright crosscheck to the back of Timmonen. They are on the ice together with about a minute left chatting and drop the gloves in front of the net. Wright is just holding on and doesn't throw a punch, Wilm tries to throw a few but they all came up short or hit helmet.

Mar 01, 2003 1pd 03:04 Reid Simpson CHI Jason Strudwick
Comments: They shed the gloves and immediately tie each other up pretty good. Simpson gets his right free and lands a hard right to the face and misses with another. Strudwick ducks his head and Reid throws 3 or 4 to the back of his head/helmet. They grab a hold and dance a couple of circles, Simpson slips to a knee, but Strudwick couldn't take advantage. Reid gets back up and gets the takedown.

Mar 17, 2003 2pd 03:47 Scott Walker EDM Jason Smith
Comments: Scrum in front of Salo, and Smith seemed surprised that Walker dropped his gloves. Smith drops his and it's on. They are exchanging wild rights as Smith seems to be getting the better of it. Smith is now spinning Walker around and lands two big right hands, while Walker counters with a big one of his own. He seemed to stun Smith with that one. They exchange rights again, but there's not much behind either guy's punches as they're starting to fatigue. Linesmen come in and this one is over.

Mar 29, 2003 2pd 12:42 Scott Walker ATL Chris Tamer
Comments: Tamer crosschecks Vladimir Orszagh across the face on the faceoff. Walker immediately goes after Tamer with the rights. Walker throws three rights, one connecting to the forehead of Tamer. Tamer throws two rights that come up empty. It's all Walker from here on. He throws three or four pretty good rights, connecting with Tamer's chin a couple of times. Tamer's jersey gets up over his face and he ducks his head. Walker throws about four more to Tamer's forehead and helmet, driving him to his knees. The linesmen come in and try to break them up and Walker throws two or three uppercuts that might have connected. Other Penalties: Tamer received an attempt to injure match penalty; Walker an instigator and misconduct.

Comments: Along the boards they throw the gloves off, but Hartnell is a bit quicker and starts unloading on Dimiao with rights. Dimiao then comes back with some rights of his own, with none seeming to connect. Dimiao's jersey gets over his head and Hartnell proceeds to throw more rights and then the linesmen come in.
