By the time the camera gets to them, Laperriere is throwing rights at Sopel, who is covering up. Sopel then starts some lefts which result in a couple landing on the helmet. Both tie up and then Laperriere tries to throw a left hook that misses and causes both to fall to the ice.

Oct 23, 2002 1pd 12:38 Brad Norton @DET Darren McCarty
McCarty takes a penalty and skates toward the box. In the meantime, Norton exchanges pleasantries with Kirk Maltby. This brings McCarty back into the fray to confront Norton. A little shovin, a glove-on right by Darren and there they go! McCarty gets the jump and smacks him with a good left. A little wrestlin goes on, Norton misses with a left and then shows some strength by pushing Mac up against the glass. Norton then misses with a right and his momentum brings him to the ice. McCarty lets him go, instead of sneaking a few extra shots in. Other Penalties: McCarty received a double tripping, instigator and misconduct.

Oct 25, 2002 2pd 07:24 Ian Laperriere @NYR Ron Petrovicky
Fight starts off with Lappy throwing three rights, then Petrovicky answers back with two rights. Can't tell if any landed since the camera wasn't zoomed in. As it zooms in, they continue to trade rights with Lappy landing one to the side of the head. Lappy starts pushing Petrovicky back while trying to land rights. Petrovicky tries to to throw a couple rights in response, but once his back hits the boards, he tries to get a headlock on. Both continue to try throwing the rights until they are broken up.

Oct 29, 2002 1pd 13:47 Ian Laperriere @ATL Andy Sutton
Two minutes prior Sutton goes and hits Jason Allison which looks like a knee on knee. Sutton gets a roughing. After Sutton gets out of the penalty box he waits and Lappy is on his way. They both immediately drop the gloves, and Lappy dives right in. They both have a good hold on each others arms and Lappy throws 1 maybe that hit the helmet. Sutton basically took over from there. They have a tight hold and Sutton gets an arm free and throws like 8-9 noogies/short punches that all connect on top of Lappy's head. Linesmen come in and break it up.

Nov 30, 2002 1pd 12:00 Kip Brennan CHI Ryan VandenBussche
Lined up off the facoff and they drop em. Vandenbussche starts throwing hard lefts, a couple landing and Brennan goes down, perhaps a slip or a combo slip/punch. He gets up and they continue with Vandy getting the better of the exchanges. Before they came together Vandenbussche was saying something to the ref, perhaps mentioning something about tape on Brennan's hand.

Dec 26, 2002 1pd 01:48 Kip Brennan PHO Todd Simpson
Right off the faceoff after the Kings scored the first goal. The cameras got in a little late, but it looked like both Simpson and Brennan were exchanging rights that were landing a little short. Then Brennan lands a left which knocks Simpson's helmet off. Simpson gets free and throws a left that hits most of Brennan's helmet, followed by another left which drills Brennan and he almost falls over. Brennan gets back up and tries throwing some rights. Simpson responds with a few more lefts and they both fall to the ice. It looked like Brennan landed a right at the end to the back of Simpson's head.

Dec 26, 2002 1pd 03:50 Ian Laperriere PHO Shane Doan
A few minutes after the Simpson-Brennan fight, these two hook up. Lappy goes for a big hit on Doan behind the LA net. Instead, Doan lowers his shoulder and drills Lappy. Lappy gets back up and goes after Doan. Doan shoves him back and the gloves come off. All grappling at first then Lappy tries a right which comes short. Doan gets free and throws a big right (which may have connected, not sure) and an uppercut which lands. Doan then tries throwing a couple more rights but Lappy got a hold of the jersey and none came close to landing. They exchange a few short rights and Lappy pins Doan against the boards. Lappy throw about 5 lefts at Doan (a few landing, nothing significant though) and they both wrestle to the ice, with Lappy on top.

Dec 26, 2002 2pd 12:31 Brad Norton PHO Kelly Buchberger
It all started when Lappy was driving into the yotes zone when all of the sudden Todd Simpson spears him in the neck. Clearly intentional, droping Lappy to the Ice. Then Lappy gets up and takes a run at Simpson behind the net and all of the fireworks start. Players start picking dance partners and Norton goes with Buchberger. Both players land a few before droping to the ice with Buchy on top of Norton firing off on Norton's head. There was a brief moment when both players got up, but went back down again. Other Penalties: Todd Simpson received a double high sticking, unsportsmanlike conduct and roughing; Ian Laperriere a double charging and roughing; Norton an instigator and misconduct.

Jan 02, 2003 1pd 09:51 Kip Brennan PHI Todd Fedoruk
Brennan drop the gloves at center ice, Fedoruk a bit after. A linesman tries to get in between, but both give him a bit of push to let them go, and a good thing too, this was a good one. Brennan fires the intial rights, landing some, while Fedoruk starts throwing wild lefts. They fall to the ice and get back up without any linesmen jumping in. Both are still chucking them and Fedoruk throws a huge left that connects and drops Brennan.

Jan 02, 2003 2pd 12:19 Brad Norton PHI Donald Brashear
They were talking during the Brennan-McAllister fight, but waited until the next faceoff. They're shoving while lined up, but the ref tells them to wait until the puck is dropped. Right when it's dropped, so are the gloves. Norton throws a couple of lefts while Brashear pulls Norton in close. Brash has him in tight while landing several lefts. An uppercut looks like it sends Norton down, but he quickly bounces back up. Some more grappling and Norton falls again and the linesmen come in.

Jan 07, 2003 2pd 19:45 Ian Laperriere @DAL Derian Hatcher
Stars up 6-2 in the second. In front of the LA bench, Lappy is trying to get something started and drops them with Hatch. Immediate punching, with neither landing anything. Then Hatcher starts connecting with some noogies and Lappy buries his head in Hatcher's sweater. Hatch grabs the back of Lappy's helmet, but it won't give, so Hatch starts pummelling the back of Lappy's head until the helmet comes off. Lappy looks up and Hatch connects with a huge right. Lappy turtles and Hatch gives him few going down.

Radio descrip: Nick Nickson and Darryl Evans on Kings radio calling the action. They spin around, nothing landing for a while. Long fight, but not too much action according to Nickson. Finally, Simpson gets free, lands a right and then a left which knocks Brennan down, doesn't sound like too much damage, but definitely an advantage for Simpson.

Feb 15, 2003 1pd 09:59 Kip Brennan NYI Jason Wiemer
Wiemer leveled Palffy, was called for interference, and the Kings score on the power-play resulting from it. On the faceoff after that goal, the two drop the gloves. Wiemer gets position, wraps his left hand around Brennan's right arm locking him out. Wiemer fires and connects on a couple of short rights. Brennan breaks loose and lands a few rights of his own. During the exchange Wiemer lands a powerful right. Both players fall to the ice with Brennan firing after landing on top. While skating away Brennan has some blood drops on his jersey.

Iginla checks Avery and Avery falls. Before Avery even gets up Iginla drops his gloves and skates backwards waiting for Sean to get up and drop 'em. Iginla also takes off his helmet (Visor) as does Sean and they have a long, fair squareoff and it looks like Avery just jumps in, both throwing a couple that do not land. Iginla has Avery in a odd position, but Avery manages to throw a short punch that lightly connects to Iggy's face (no damage) and Avery's jersey is over his head aa Iginla throw's 2 noogies to Avery's head. Its all over then. It looked like Avery tried to throw more then Iginla.

Good toe to toe fight, both with the lefts at first and then both switching. Marchment seemed to land some nice shots early. Replays show him with his elbow pad over his left hand hitting the side of Laperriere's helmet with some very weak blows due to his arm tangled up in his jersey. Laperriere then lands a few straight rights that rocked Marchment including the best shot of the fight. Marchment then lands a few to end the fight as they go down to the ice. Marchment in the box with a cut on the bridge of the nose.

Marchment runs Lappy, and everbody pairs off as the game wind's down. Avery grabs Aubin, throws a right to Aubin's temple up against the boards. Aubin's got the sheild on and doesn't look interested. They jockey along the boards and Avery gets his right cocked. Some twirling and Avery throws two rights to Aubin's helmet. Aubin looks to throw a right that has nothing on it as Avery is trying to get Aubin's helmet/sheild off. Avery throws an uppercut to Aubin's ribs, then a right to the back of Aubin's neck. Two nothing rights from Avery and Aubin's trying to get him down. Avery is pinned on the boards now and still trying to get Aubin's lid off. Aubin's got his left pushed into Avery's face. Avery tries an uppercut to the body, then looks to land a decent uppercut to Aubin's cheek. Avery misses a right, a jerseyed left, then another right. Other Penalties: Bryan Marchment and Aaron Miller each received a roughing.
