| Comments: Large scrum in front of Wild net brings the Kings defenseman in. As scrum continues Boucher finds himself alone with Hendrickson and starts throwing in retaliation for a knee that put Buchberger out. Boucher got in about 5 punches to the body before Hendrickson could respond, Hendrickson throws one big right at Boucher, but nothing connects. | ||||

| Dec 15, 2001 | 2pd 03:50 | Ian Laperriere | CBJ | Jamie Pushor |
| Comments: As the play goes away from Columbus end, Lappy and Pushor come together in front of Tugnutt and quickly drop 'em. They grab each others jersey to start, eventually both trying to get an arm free. Lappy gets free first and fires 14 shots, landing 8 or 9. Then Pushor wrestles him for control and fires 9 of his own, the last to the back of Laperriere's head. Lappy gets a couple more shots in while Pushor is firing at him. Laperriere seems to tire first, and covers. The two then tie each other up, in the classic "hunched over" hockey fighter position. Kudos to both for going a full tilt. | ||||

| Dec 18, 2001 | 2pd 09:59 | Kelly Buchberger | @TOR | Wade Belak |
| Comments: Good square off as both guys circle each other for about 7 seconds with the gloves off. Buchberger starts with a left jab which misses - bit of dancing continues but not for long as Belak goes in. Belak unleashes four rights with 1 or 2 landing real good...at least one landed good. Buchberger retaliates with two rights with one landing real good but by this point Belak has Buchberger's jersey pulled up. Belak tosses four more rights. Then they come together for a close hug where the shots are either noogies or very short punches to the back of the head. | ||||

| Comments: Until I break down the individual fights, here's the brawl description: It all starts when Andre Roy is left behind the play with Felix Potvin, and Roy is kinda tripped by Felix and he gets the gloves up in Potvins face, and pushes him in the face. Potvin then comes back with 2 punches, and then the calvary comes in. Lappy soon entangles himself with Roy. Herperger takes on Modry. Then you see Neil pounding on Eloranta. Mair, seeing the mismatch, comes off the bench to get himself involved with Neil (hello 10-game suspension). Seeing what is going on (Mair making the Sens shorthanded), Hurme comes to jump in and meets Potvin at center ice. Potvin starts by getting the Sens goalie's helmet off. He throws some punches, nothing really landed. They are now by the Sens bench and Hurme can't get his blocker off, so he sticks it into the bench and his teammates take it off for him (that's teamwork baby!). They throw a couple more nothing punches until Potvin throws a haymaker, but misses. They are now broken up, and the brawl is over. Other Penalties: Neil received an instigator (for Eloranta), misconduct and game misconduct; Mair an instigator, misconduct and THREE game misconducts. | ||||

| Dec 27, 2001 | 1pd 19:08 | Ian Laperriere | ANA | Denny Lambert |
| Comments: Both guys kinda collide, go into a clinch and drop the gloves. Lappy tries a short right that just doesn't have the motivation. Lambert returns a right but Lappy ducks away. Lambert throws another right that smashes into Ian's helmet. Now they grab on, in close. Lambert tosses a left while Lappy tries a right; both miss the mark. Against the boards now. They are still hugging and Lapperiere lands a short right to the helmet he follows up with a glancing blow off the helmet and another weak shot to the helmet. They are off balance and down they go. The linesmen break this one up now. | ||||

| Dec 29, 2001 | 2pd 19:42 | Kelly Buchberger | NYR | Matt Barnaby |
| Comments: Buchberger starts off with three rights. I thought perhaps one landed but JD said nothing landed. Bucky ties up Barnaby. Matt is doing his best to get his hands free. He gets the left free, throws an uppercut that landed, then they both trade some punches with little landing by either player. Bucky then gets the death grip on Barnaby and really tries to pull him down and succeeds by pulling Matt down on top of him. Not a great bout. It appeared that after the initial flurry, Buchberger was finished and wanted to wrestle. | ||||

Then Bill Lindsay came in to help Ward, who threw no punches. Lindsay grabbed on to Belanger to hold him back from hurting Ward. Other Penalties: Belanger received an instigator and game misconduct.

| Jan 09, 2002 | 1pd 08:41 | Kip Brennan | @NYR | Steve McKenna |
| Comments: They get it started off the face off. McKenna starts with a right that Brennan is able to duck away from. Some grabbing and McKenna is able to push Brennan's helmet off. In tight. McKenna misses with a weak left but connects with a second left to the jaw. Brennan returns a right that's no where then connects to the back of McKenna's helmet with a second right. A third right may have connected to Steve's ear but from the angle it's hard to tell. Along the boards now. McKenna straightens up and fires a right which Brennan evades. Brennan answers with a right which bounces off McKenna's back and into his helmet. McKenna is out of position and spins wildly with a right which misses or just grazes Brennan with no damage done. This sends both guys toppling to the ice. Here come the linesmen, and it is over. | ||||

It starts off as basic grappling and they start leaning up against the boards as Stock lands a couple, Naz and Brennan drop em and start going at it, you don't see much of this fight as the cameraman smartly focuses on Stock. | Comments: Felix Potvin is behind the net, working the puck, and along comes Sawyer and just lays a shoulder into Potvin knocking him to the ice on his back. All the Kings on the ice come to the aid of their goalie and Laperriere ends up with Sawyer. Lappy tried his best to send the message to Sawyer by throwing a few punches with only 2 or 3 landing, but Sawyer hits him with about 5 or 6 of his own, plus the take down. Other Penalties: Sawyer received a charging major.

| Jan 24, 2002 | 1pd 06:23 | Ryan Flinn | MIN | Brad Brown |
| Comments: A scrum happens after the whistle, so Fox goes to commercial. When they return, they replay what went on. Ryan Flinn and Brad Brown were jawing and Brown was giving Flinn a nice facewash. Flinn decides to drop em and persuades Brown to do the same. He does and here we go! Flinn has more reach than Brown so he has him locked out. Flinn throws about 4 heavy rights with the last one connecting square on Brad Brown's chin. Brown went down like a sack of bricks after that last one! That was a solid right! Brown may have landed one or two rights that inflicted no damage. Other Penalties: Sylvain Blouin, Mathieu Schneider and Flinn received roughings. | ||||

| Comments: Blouin is skating up the ice as Kelly gives him a little tug with his stick. Off go the gloves and into a nice little roundabout square-off. They lock into each other and try to get position. Blouin starts with a few rights that may have landed to the back of Kelly's helmet. No damage. Blouin takes Buchberger to the boards and they are still working to get free. Blouin with a couple lefts that land to the back of Kelly's helmet/neck area. Then Buchberger lands about 3 lefts of his own with no damage done to either fighter. The linesmen come in and break up this not-too-spectacular bout. | ||||

| Comments: The two square off and as they come together Flinn throws a right that lands. They then attempt to go toe to toe, and Flinn nails him with 4 rights in a row, the last right landing sqare and made Parker duck and gather himself. Parker then comes back and nails Flinn which causes him to go down to a knee. As Flinn is down Parker throws 2 punches, Flinn slips as he's getting up, and the refs come in, Both men are on their feet at the end. Parker went right to the dressing room to get cleaned up. | ||||

| Comments: Not much, Flinn and Johnson both try and unload, and it looked like Flinn landed the only punches, but only to the back of the head. There was one point where they both threw huge haymakers. Flinn's missed, but Johnson's missed as well. | ||||

Then they come out of the box and drop 'em again, Lappy is trying to throw them the whole fight, he may have hit Blouin with one or two to the side of the head/helmet area. Blouin had him locked out real good, Lappy wanted to go toe to toe, but Blouin didnt. Blouin then gets Lappy spinned around, and throws 2 to the back of Lappy's helemt. Then they go down.

| Feb 04, 2002 | 1pd 13:05 | Ryan Flinn | PHI | Todd Fedoruk |
| Comments: Flinn and Brash come together behind Chemo, but Brash wants none of it and goes off the ice. The Fridge takes his place and levels a King along the boards in the neutral zone and Flinn comes in and squares to Todd. They drop 'em and Flinn starts first, nailing the Fridge on the helmet and knocking him to a knee. Fedoruk gets up quickly and they keep going. Both fighters are in close and grasping each other (or hugging) with Flinn having a hold of Todd's fight strap loop on his pants. Flinn throws some tight ones that hit the side and back of the Fridge's helmet. Fedoruk tries the same, but they are just in too close. They dance a little and Fedoruk tries to get his arm free, but Flinn is holding too tight. They trade some more fist pushes and as they tire, Todd gives Flinn a couple of facewashes. Not much of a fight as neither could get free. | ||||

Flinn landed a few punches, maybe four short rights and a quick left. No damage done here either. Naz landed another left to the side of Flinn's head, but it didn't have all that much on it. | Comments: Fair square off. Shelley moves in for the grab and misses but Flinn grabs on anyhow. Flinn lets loose with a right, but it comes up short. Shelley gets a left handful of collar and pushes it into Flinn's mug. Flinn responds with an overhand right to Jody's helmet. Shelley comes back with a right that falls short. It's Flinn's turn again and his right grazes Shelley's helmet. Shelley throws a wild right that barely misses Flinn's face while Flinn does the same. Flinn gives Jody the ol' fist-full-of-collar-facewash then misses with a right. They throw rights in stereo, but due to the camera angle it's hard to tell if they connected. This is when Flinn's jersey comes up over his head. Flinn is throwing blindly and either missing or grazing Shelley. Shelley tosses a right that seems to land. Both men land rights. Once again they throw simultaneous rights; Flinn misses and Shelley connects. Shelley fires a straight right that misses somehow. Flinn knows he's in trouble now and is bending over defensively. Jody throws a wild right uppercut that connects somewhere snapping Flinn almost upright. The linesmen are wanting to break this one up and Shelley lands a right to Flinn's back. Now the zebras are in and it is all over. Flinn has a cut near the left eyebrow. That uppercut near the end by Shelley was impressive.

They joust a moment and drop the gloves. As Buchberger grabs on Shelley throws a stiff right uppercut that catches Kelly flush on the nose and drops him! Not a KO as Buchberger regains his feet when the refs step in, but a definite TKO.

| Comments: Laperriere knocks Modano to the ice and Erskine comes skating at him with a full head of steam with the gloves off. Not a lot landed and it was over a little too soon. The two fall fast, and that's it. Other Penalties: Erskine received an instigator and misconduct. | ||||
