Wallin shoves Nichol down. Nichol immediately gets up and drops the gloves. He starts throwing some punches, all wild punches, not sure if any connected. Wallin finally realizes he is in a fight and he drops the gloves and throws 1 or 2. Nichol still throwing wildly, Wallin throws Nichol down and starts throwing punches as Nichol is covering his head. Other Penalties: Nichol received an instigator and misconduct.

McCarty takes a penalty and skates toward the box. In the meantime, Norton exchanges pleasantries with Kirk Maltby. This brings McCarty back into the fray to confront Norton. A little shovin, a glove-on right by Darren and there they go! McCarty gets the jump and smacks him with a good left. A little wrestlin goes on, Norton misses with a left and then shows some strength by pushing Mac up against the glass. Norton then misses with a right and his momentum brings him to the ice. McCarty lets him go, instead of sneaking a few extra shots in. Other Penalties: McCarty received a double tripping, instigator and misconduct.

After a save by Cujo, DiMaio and Avery exchange hellos and decide to drop the gloves. Because the camera always turns away when players are pushing, we didn't get to see the beginning of the fight. When the camera gets back on the action, DiMaio and Avery are trading lefts. It looked like DiMaio got the better of him landing a couple of nice lefts, but Avery did land a couple flush to DiMaio's face. According to the Stars announcers, Avery won the beginning of the fight and DiMaio the second half.

Begin throws a hard hit on a Wing, and Darren decides to do a little enforcin'. He skates over to him and the gloves come off. Nice square off, with McCarty doing his old stance that hasn't been seen in quite a long time. They come together, with McCarty grabbing on with his right and Begin with his left. They go toe to toe with Begin clearly getting the advantage and landing 2 good solid shots to the face, and one hard blow striking Mac's helmet. McCarty's punches looked to be off the mark during this initial flurry. Now they get a good hold of each other, and McCarty switches hands and lands a right, followed by a body shot. They grapple a little more and Darren surprises Begin with a solid right uppercut to his chin. Both then fire simultaneous lefts, with both connecting. Only difference is Begin ends up on the ice.

Avery came out firing and landed two pretty good rights on Morrow. Morrow can't get anything going as Avery lands a couple more to the back of his head. Morrow then catches Avery with a good left, they grapple for a while, and Avery lands one or two more as the linesman come in. Long fight, not too many punches landing though. Other Penalties: Mathieu Dandenault received a tripping.

Both try to get in position, Avery throws a few and Vellieux drops. Then Avery throws a late punch as refs break it up.

Avery throws a hit on Robidas, a little jawing and off come the gloves. They come together with Robidas getting off to a quick start and landing a couple rights. Avery comes back with the left and they exchange blows, each getting in a few. The last right by Robidas looked to stun Avery a bit. He regains himself as his jersey begins to come up. His right arm is free from the jersey now, and he lands a couple to the helmet. Robidas is bent over now and Avery throws a pretty wicked left uppercut which appeared to land, but can't be certain since Avery's fist was caught inside his jersey at the time. They get all tangled up, embrace each other with headlocks and its over.

They come out of the box and drop 'em soon after. Both were firing wild punches. Avery lands a few early, with Westcott seemingly off balance. Westcott comes back and eventually drops Avery with a solid shot. Avery attempted to get right back up, but still looked kinda dazed and fell backwards. Other Penalties: Westcott received a game misconduct.

Low was not tied down as the camera comes in late as this and the McCarty-Salvador fight were going on at the same time. Both had each other tied up pretty well. Then Low gets his right free and knocks-down Maxim with a good right. Maxim then covers up not wanting anymore. Other Penalties: Doug Weight and Tomas Holmstrom each received a roughing; Low an instigator, roughing, triple misconduct and game misconduct.

McCarty, not tied down, comes out of his jersey and pads. Both are chucking them pretty good, then McCarty gets Salvador tied up and pretty much flips him and lands a solid punch when Salvador is on his knees trying to get up. He finally does and McCarty lands another solid shot and ties up Salvador. Then Salvador winds-up and throws a backhand forearm shiver. Other Penalties: McCarty received a game misconduct.

Brashear nails a Wing, in comes McCarty and instantly challenges Brashear. Nice sqare off and away they go in a short toe-to-toe exchange. Brashear looks to land 5-6 lefts including one uppercut to McCarty's one. McCarty then falls on top of Brashear.

These two drop the gloves at the end of regulation. The fight is behind the net, up against the boards. McCarty looks to land a couple of decent lefts. Odelein swings for the fences and comes up empty. McCarty pushes Odie against the boards, switches to the right and lands two good ones and Odie goes down with McCarty on top of him.

They are both talking for a while and finally go. They grab on and Thomas throws a right that comes up short. Avery lands a glancing right to the chin. Thomas a right that comes up short. Avery a right to the shoulder, and then throws two right that both hit the target. Thomas then lands a big right that puts Avery down but he gets right back up and Thomas throws a right that hits helmet. Avery lands another two glancing shots to the chin. Thomas lands a good right to the cheek. Avery throws a right that looks like it landed on the nose. Thomas throws a left to the back of Avery's head which puts Avery in an akward position and Thomas lands a solid uppercut. They then both land good simultaneous lefts. Thomas throws a left that hits helmet. Avery throws a right that comes up short, and then gets the helmet off. Thomas throws another right that comes up short, they hold on and the linesmen come in.

Avery is lookin for a fight, he slashes Cooke and it doesn't look like Cooke is looking and Avery throws his gloves off and basically jumps him. He throws 2 or 3 punches that hit that back of Cooke's head. Cooke turtles and the linesmen break it up. Avery threw a few while Cooke was down also. Other Penalties: Avery received a roughing, misconduct and game misconduct. Matt Cooke did not receive a fighting major.

They were tied up at the start, then Boughner started to get his right going and landed a couple. Shanny comes back with a couple and they tie up for a bit. The linesmen start to come in, but Shanny waves them off. The traded some more, but you could tell they were starting to get tired. Shanny drops to one knee and then gets up. Linesmen were about to come in, Boughner goes down, but the linesmen were ready this time and broke it up. Shanny landed a late one in the face when the linesmen came in.

Snyder had leveled Boyd Devereaux with a hit earlier, so Avery plays enforcer and looks for payback late in the third. They drop 'em and Avery tosses some early rights and takes control while Snyder lands a good shot late. Avery then gets the takedown.

Oilers down 5-1, Laraque goes to the biggest Wing on the ice (Kuznetsov) and picks a fight. They drop the gloves and Maxim goes for the hug. Laraque is throwing lefts, but not hitting much as Kuznetsov is holding on for his life. Laraque throws some more lefts which hit the back and side of Kuznetsov's head, then the linesmen come in and stop the fight.

Maltby takes a run at Comrie, both Carter and Ferguson skate over to Maltby, but it's Ferguson who drops the gloves with Kirk. Ferguson throws a left, then Maltby immediately goes for the takedown. Other Penalties: Ferguson received an instigator and misconduct.

Berry lays a big hit on Holmstrom and Shanny on his next shift takes exception. He runs Berry into the boards in the Caps end and they have a classic squareoff and then Shanny throws the lid off with Berry doing the same. Shanny gets in some early rights with Berry countering with some rabbit punches and then gets Shannys jersey over his head landin one or two good ones and then Shanny quickly comes back with a pretty big right.

Simpson challenges McCarty behind the Wings net and away they go! McCarty misses with a left and Simpson catches him with a good right, followed by another short one. After the second shot, McCarty nails him with a hard left to the jaw and drops Simpson to his knees. No balance issue here, he was cleanly knocked down.

McCarty picks out Berehowsky during a scrum and tosses a couple of shots at him. They eventually separate from the pile, but neither man looks interested and they just hold on. It ends quickly. Other Penalties: Daymond Langkow received a roughing; Kris Draper a holding; Kirk Maltby an unsportsmanlike conduct.

They get matching minors, come out of the box and have a go at center ice. Low landed left hands and McCarty was also throwing them pretty well. Low lands some more as McCarty's jersey came completely off, earning him a gamer. Good fight. Other Penalties: McCarty received a game misconduct.

Earlier in the game Shanahan got the stick up on Nash. Nasty hit and a big non-call. They trade some jabs and then the gloves come off, they hold on a Shanny throws some shots to the back of Nash's head. Jackman wanted to get it and Federov keeps the mitts on while also getting involved, but nothing comes of it. Other Penalties: Barret Jackman and Sergei Federov each received a roughing.

Mellanby goes after Draper was punching him while he was on the ice. Maltby came charging in and fell then Mellanby gave him a couple shots while he was laying on the ice. This started the Draper-Drake and Bykov-Jackman scraps. Other Penalties: Mellanby received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct; Kirk Maltby and Ryan Johnson each a roughing. Kris Draper did not receive a fighting major.

This fight was all Jackman as he had the rights going like rock em sock em robots. Bykov tried to come back, but couldn't. Easy for Jackman, but props to Bykov for not turtling, he hung in there. Other Penalties: Each player received a game misconduct.

They come together and Drake has the right going and landing. Drake gets tired out after a few punches and Draper is up against the glass and he throws some punches that land. The refs break it up. Other Penalties: Each player received a game misconduct.
