Along the boards near the benches is where it starts. Simpson gets the left going, while Guerin's got his head down. Billy can't straighten up and is just taking punches. Guerin finally isn't bent over, but can't throw a punch as he's tied up. Simpson's about to start with some rights when the linesmen come rushing in.

In between the blue line and the center ice line, by the penalty box, the gloves come off easy. They're each throwing heavy rights. After a couple, Erskine lands a nice one, but Burnett's helmet is still on. Erskine throws a couple more, Burnett's balance seems to be off from the get-go. While throwing Burnett is slipping and pulls Erskine down with him.

When the camera gets there Schnabel's helmet is off and he is trying to get Ott's helmet off and does. They hug a little, both were trying to get their rights loose, but they had each other tied up too well. Ott finally decides to go to the left and landed a weak shot to Schnabel's jaw. Schnabel then threw three upper cuts that looked to hit Ott's torso and then Schnabel throws two over-hand rights. The first hit Ott's shoulder and the second hits Ott in the back of the head and sends him to the ice, Schnabel falls on him.

Turco pushes Hartnell at the end of the game and Hartnell pushes him right back, just a little harder. Matvichuk comes in and gives Hartnell a shove, then Boucher comes in with his gloves off and pretty much just pushes Hartnell. Tootoo jumps in to try and get Boucher, but is pulled off and Boucher pretty much falls on Hartnell. Odd FM call. Other Penalties: Richard Matvichuk and Jordin Tootoo each received a roughing; Marty Turco a double roughing and leaving the crease; Hartnell a goaltender interference.

Ott collides with McKee at the boards and gives him a face wash. McKee didn't like that, some shoving, and the gloves come off. McKee throws a bunch of rights at a ducking Ott, most of them landing to the helmet and side of the head. Ott tried to throw a few, but nothing came of it, and they go down.

They squareoff for a bit. They come together, keep each other at arms length and both throw rights but all of them come up short. Peters tries to get closer and Downey takes him down.

A few jabs for each, then Boucher gets Pettinger's helmet off and pulls his jersey up. Linesmen come in and it's done.

After the play, the linesmen try to break them up, but they block the linesmen out and go. Witt swings a haymaker that misses and he falls from the momentum. DiMaio tries to get in some shots, but nothing happens.

Right out of the box they meet up and drop the gloves, looked like Erskine was stretching as they were circling. They come together and grab on. They hold each other off with their right hands and throw over each other with nothing but bombs. Johnson gets the first couple, one real good one, and Erskine responds with a couple overhand rights that Johnson ducks under. Johnson then grabs Erskine's leg and tries to hit him while Erskine is off-balance, but Erskine dosn't fall and nails Johnson's forehead with a couple of overhand rights. They fall and Johnson throws some lefts at the end.

Roberts levels Zubov into the boards, and Guerin flies in to defend his teammate. Gloves fly off, Guerin throwing the rights, Roberts throwing the lefts. They are toe-to-toe, Guerin has his head down most of the time, throwing a bit more wildly than Roberts appears to be. Guerin then goes down with Roberts on top (Guerin goes down stomach first).

Late camera as Spacek is laying on the ice after taking a puck to the leg. They finally get to the fight and Shelley and Erskine each exchange a right before Shelley throws him down while throwing another.

Commercial after the Shelley-Erskine fight. They come back and show a replay of Spacek laying on the ice (very exciting). They slowly cut to the fight and Ott is covered up with Ling on top, and the linesmen already in between them. Didn't seem like much happened, and it happened fast.

They start off trading rights pretty evenly. Downey loses his balance, but gets back up. Oliwa then hits the ice, but gets back up as well. Downey's helmet goes flying, then he switches to southpaw. Throws a couple of lefts, then gets one in that buckled Oliwa.

When the camera got there Dimaio was using the left and Allison was going with right. They each throw about five punches, nothing doing any damage. Allison falls forward and Dimiao falls on top of him.

Stevenson throws a big check on Erskine and they drop em. Good squareoff and they grab on. Erskine lands a right to the side of Stevenson's head. They both throw and miss, then Erskine starts connecting, putting Stevenson to a knee. Erskine then starts teeing off and the linesmen come in as Stevenson is clearly vulnerable.

They have some words before the puck is dropped to start the second period and have to be seperated by the ref. After the puck is dropped they follow each other off the faceoff and Ott drops the gloves. Barnaby waits to drop em, does after two seconds, and away we go. They both exchange a couple of soft punches and then Ott pounds Barnaby with two rights and as a result, Barnaby finds himself pinned to the boards. Then, Ott pulls the front of Barnaby's jersey over his head and Barnaby has the jersey over his head for the majority of the fight. Barnaby manages to get out of the pin and they continue to grapple for five seconds or so before Barnaby gets a left free and gets in a couple of shots. He then pushes the jersey over his head and Ott shakes off an elbow pad and Ott throws two good lefts and Barnaby two good rights and they go down with Barnaby on top.

They grapple along the boards and then entice each other to drop the gloves after a quick glove wash to the face by Morrow. Not much going on except holding, then Morrow starts to give Jillson some noggies. Jillson is in tight and Morrow tries to get Jillson's helmet off. Jillson has his face buried in Morrow's chest, so Morrow tries some uppercuts.

Morrow takes a run at Fischer, and Fischer gets the hands up high and incomes Boucher. They both hugged for a bit while Fischer threw a few punches to the back of the head. Other Penalties: Brendan Morrow received a boarding; Brett Hull an obstruction holding; Fischer a high sticking; Boucher an instigator and misconduct.

Right out of the penalty box these two drop the gloves. They have a short squareoff, Bootland quickly skates towards Ott. Ott throws one and misses while Bootland throws two, with one landing slightly. Ott buries his head into Bootland's chest and Bootland throws about four to five shots, with three landing on Ott's head. Then Bootland starts ragdolling Ott, and Ott falls on his knees, but gets right back up. Ott throws two that miss Bootland, then they are still together and Ott tries throwing one or two more as Bootland throws thirteen lefts with several landing on Ott's helmetless head. They jostle a little more and Bootland shoves Ott to the ice.

Cummins is looking for anyone to go and Robbie is game. Cummins is throwing rights and landing most of them, DiMaio is cut somewhere along the bridge of his nose. DiMaio is throwing lefts to combat Cummins, but then he switches to the right and BAM! nails Cummins. Cummins goes down, but I don't know if it was a slip or from the hit. Very spirited. Other Penalties: Cody McCormick received a roughing.

Erskine got a flurry of punches in at the beginning, and one at the end that cut Burnett on the inside of his left eye. Erskine looked like a wrestler they way he saddled Burnett on the ice. Other Penalties: Burnett received an interference.

They drop the gloves quicly and get right down to business with no attempt to remove the buckets, both throwing punches with mean intentions. They each connect with a couple of glancing rights, with the better shots being landed by Erskine which causes Marshall to go a little off balance. Erskine uses his height to take advantage of this situation and unloads with a bomb with his right hand sending Marshall down.

Marshall comes back for revenge against Erskine who is more than willing to oblige, but the linesmen decide they don't want to see this matchup. Once again there is no attempt to get helmets off, just both guys throwing big time rights. Only this time the linesman is the one on the receiving end and he takes a huge shot from Erskine.

Morrow tries to get his team pumped up and lighlty bumps Avery against the boards. They both look at each other and drop the gloves immediately. They dive in after an extremely short squareoff. Avery throws two left punches, the second one landing right on the money. Avery's head is now under Morrow's arm and Avery tries throwing one more, catching helmet and air. Avery gets his head out from under Morrow's arm and each of them throw one, with Morrow's landing better. Avery tries to throw one more, as does Morrow, and they both come up short and both fall. Afterwards you can see that Morrow was bleeding in the box, looked like it was from Avery's second punch.

As John Erskine was roughing up Avery it seemed like Ott and Avery were having words. They seemed determined to go as Avery skated away from Erskine and Ott threw off his gloves and Avery followed. They had a long squareoff that went end to end. When they finally got a hold of each other, they both threw some with Avery throwing more and landing more. Ott threw about three punches with all of them coming up short to Avery's five, with a couple of them landing. Then Ott buries his helmet-less head in Avery's chest area and Avery throws about eight punches, some uppercuts and most of them landing. Other Penalties: John Erskine received a cross checking.

Simpson had his left cocked back and threw another one to the back of Guerins head, they hug some more and slip to the ice.

Off the faceoff they drop the gloves and have a really short squareoff. They grapple for position and Ward knocks Morgan's helmet off with a punch to the back of the head. They grapple some more and Morgan gets in two left "jersey jabs" right to the face of Ward that makes him lean back for a second. He regains his balance and keeps Morgan at arms-length with his right cocked back. Morgan tries a body shot and Ward comes over top with a quick right, but it wiffs. Morgan throws a left that wiffs and Ward comes back with about two more lefts to the back of Morgan's head, as Morgan slips to the ice with Ward landing on top.

Nazarov and Erskine bump in the corner and Erskine gives Naz the invite. Naz thinks about it briefly, drops his left glove and pops Erskine a couple of times. They grab on and Naz finally drops his other glove. They grapple for a bit, then Erskine gets his right free and throw a right-hand bomb and they go down.

The two drop the gloves and square off. They grab ahold of each other and Morgan throws a couple of rights to start things off. Moen nearly loses his balance but is able to stay on his feet. Moen returns fire with a flurry of rights. They go back and forth with rights but the majority of them miss the target. They spin around and Moen throws two rights to the back of Morgan's head. Morgan throws a right cross that misses and Moen connects with a right that sends Morgan to the ice. Morgan tries to get back up but falls down again. He eventually gets back to his feet but the linesmen are right there to break things up.

Vandy pushes Morgan down to the ice in front of the benches. When Morgan gets up they shed the gloves and squareoff. Kevin Collins was lurking around tyring to get in. They jump in and grab on before he does and Morgan tries some rights as Vandy threw some lefts. Vandy gets in close and Morgan feeds him a couple of in-close uppercuts. Vandy spreads out and starts throwing the lefts, with one big one landing as Morgan lost his balance and fell backwards. Vandy threw in another while they were on the ice. When Morgan got up to skate to the box he stumbled and fell flat on his stomach. He was shaken up, but stayed in the box.

Ruutuu apparently instigates this get together, and immediately grabs on. Both guys go with lefts at first, and Ruutuu ties up again. Dimaio gets the right loose and lands a couple of good shots. Good uppercut by Dimaio might have been best punch of fight. They come together exhausted. Other Penalties: Ruutu received an instigator and misconduct.

Downey hooked Nash, then Nash gave Downey a cross check, so Downey drops the gloves. Nash was near his bench, so he leans over and turtles along the bench edge. Downey is wailing on the back of Nash's head and back when the refs come in. Other Penalties: Nash received a cross checking; Downey an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct. Tyson Nash did not receive a fighting major.

Play occured to the right of the LA goal. Chartrand was a bit miffed about a hit by Sloan earlier. The two locked up on the boards, and had to struggle to even get their gloves off. When they did, the action was negligible. No real blows landed, mostly a wrsetling match.

Downey challenges and Worrell obliges. They tie up right away, DOwney getting inside. Worrell gets the helmet off quickly and throws three shots, two miss, one lands on the cheek. Downey then throws two lefts that both hit neck. They both open up a little and Worrell starts bringing it. He lands about three or four rights, but to Downey's credit he lands a left or two on Worrell.

They come together to the side of the net get in a clinch. Low's trying to throw a punch, nothing going on and Erskine throws two big rights, one looked to land. Low then gets the takedown. After Low got the takedown it looked like Erskine threw a couple more punches at Low that may have landed.

When the cameras first got there, Downey was on his knee. They then threw nothing and Downey fell to the knee again. Big-time balance problem as they were pretty mobile. Not much landed, mostly a struggle to stay on two skates as Neil was lining up Downey, who never got going. During the replay it looked like Neil might have caught Downey with a little jab to start the whole thing.

Stars score while Ott and Cairns are battling. Goal goes in and Cairns takes a gloved-punch from Ott. They agreed to go off of a faceoff, although many feet from each other. A dramatic glove "fling", as Downey likes to do, and they square off. Downey threw a punch that missed and the rest was all Cairns. Some hard rights from Cairns land, maybe five or six, with a few grazing ones in between. Cairns sends Downey to a knee and the linesmen come in.

The fight happens during a commercial break, but they showed the whole replay when they returned. Two big scrums break out, then when things seem to have settled, Cummins and Guerin drop the gloves and slug it out toe to toe at first, but then Jim took over and hammered Bill with several big rights. One seems to make Guerin turn away, and then they just tie each other up and the linesmen step in. Other Penalties: Guerin received a slashing, Brenden Morrow and Cody McCormick each received a roughing.

The marathon begins. Downey throws off his gloves and challenges Worrell. McAllister drops his gloves and tries to square off with Downey but Downey skates around him to get to Worrell. Worrell then sheds his gloves and Downey gives him a "bring it on" wave, and then pulls up his sleeves. They begin to circle and shadow box. They each try and grab on a couple of times and don't have any luck. Downey finally tries a left that connects to Worrell's right shoulder and Downey then grabs onto Worrell. They grapple for a second and exchange short rights to the helmet. They grapple some more and Worrell throws a weak right that comes up short, then Worrell tries a body punch with the right. Worrell comes back to the head with two short rights that hit helmet or the back of Downey's neck. They grapple some more and Worrell tries two short rights that hit Downey's helmet. Worrell tries to get Downey's helmet off, but he can't. They grapple and spin some, and then Worrell tries a short right that comes up short. Downey responds with a right over the top that comes up short of Worrell's jaw. Worrell responds with two short rights Downey's helmet. Downey comes back with a right that might have landed to Worrell's jaw, but the camera angle makes it impossible to tell. Worrell responds with two rights. The first goes to Downey's body and the second comes over the top and hits Downey's helmet. Downey comes back with a short right to the back of Worrell's helmet. Worrell responds with two rights again. The first to the body and the second comes back to the head, which looked to connect with Downey's shoulder/face. They exchange rights to the helmet and then Worrell finally gets Downey's helmet off. They get in-close and Downey is shaking his head at the linesmen telling them not to come in. They grapple some and Downey tries to sneak in a right uppercut and it comes up short. Worrell comes back with two straight rights, the first comes up short and the second lands flush to Downey's face, but does nothing. Downey responds with four lefts over the top. The first one connects with Worrell's face and jars his head sideways. The next three hit shoulder or helmet. Worrell tries to come back with two rights that hit the side of Downey's head above the ear. Downey tried a right in the exchange that came up way short. They grapple a little more and Downey continues to shake off the linesmen. Worrell goes to the body with a right and Downey responds with a right that comes up short. Worrell comes back with a right that also comes up short. Downey throws a right that knocks Worrell's helmet off. They exchange rights over the top that hit the back of each other's head or back. Worrell goes back to the body with a right, and Downey comes back over the top with a right that comes up short. They exchange rights again, each come up short and then Worrell lands a right that lands flush on Downey's face, but doesn't faze Downey at all. They grapple some more and Worrell tries a right that hits Downey's back and then tries a left that comes up short. Downey tries to throw a left as the linesmen start to come in and hits Worrell's shoulder. They're broken up and the marathon bout is over. Several times during the fight the crowd chanted Downey's name.

The Stars are on the power play and McCormick and Morrow decide to have a go. It starts off at the blue line with no square off. Each player grabs on and starts grappling for position. Morrow finally decides to start throwing and starts off with two rights that don't have much on them and come up short. McCormick then comes back with two lefts that are more like shoves, but he does take Morrow's helmet off during the exchange. They do some more spirited grappling. Morrow then comes with four over hand rights. Two come up short and two hit the side of McCormick's head. McCormick responds with two lefts to the side of Morrow's head. They grapple some and Morrow throws a right to the back of McCormick's head. They grapple some more and Morrow lands a weak right to McCormicks back or neck. They continue to grapple, and finally get some separation. They exchange simultaneous punches, McCormick connects with a straight left and Morrow hits McCormick's shoulder with a right. McCormick then jerks Morrow off-balance and McCormick tries one more left while Morrow is going down to his knees and hits Morrow's ribs or back. The linesmen come in after that.

Wiemer cross checks Boucher up high, and Boucher comes back at Wiemer and drops the gloves. Wiemer strips Boucher's helmet off and starts throwing rights. He clips Boucher with one right to the face, then goes with an upper cut, which slightly clips Boucher, and follows with two more solid rights to Boucher, the last knocking him down. Boucher threw a couple of punches, hard to tell if any connected. Other Penalties: Wiemer received a cross checking; Boucher an instigator and misconduct.

A little grappling and Corson starts firing rights with Green trying to mix in a couple of lefts. Some soft noogies land, lots of helmet shots. Green drops his head and Corson mixes up a straight shot or two and an uppercut and a straight right puts Green down.

Ott then throws a series of rights, all connecting. Fahey comes back with a big swing that Ott ducks under, then Ott unloads another series of rights, most hitting their target. Fahey was off-balance from his wild swing and Ott's punches help him go down. Other Penalties: Ott received a high sticking.

This started very slow as both guys grabbed on and it didn't look very spirited. Both were locked out and both were trying to throw short rights without letting the other guy get loose. They decide to open up and start chucking them, Corson lands a few weak rights and short shots and Vandermeer tags Corson with two solid lefts. Corson lunges at Vandy and maybe connects with a weak right that jars Vandy's helmet loose. They grapple some more, then they trade some big lefts, with Vandy's looking a lot more solid and one connecting to Corson's face and drawing blood from the nose. They trade a few more big rights and lefts that have little behind them, then they do a spin and stop throwing.
