Behind the net, Laus dominates this quick fight. Each starts throwing and then Laus lands 3 to 4 real solid rights in a 5 second span, the last one putting Lambert down. Possible TKO.

Nov 24, 2001 1pd 02:55 Kevin Sawyer @NYI Steve Webb
It's early in the game and Webb is lined up against Sawyer. They look like they're itching, although they don't go right away so I wasn't sure. Sawyer does go over to Cairns who is kinda blah about it. But - he doesn't even have time to consider because Webb comes in. They drop the gloves and Webb just takes Sawyer's sweater and lifts it above his head. Now it's sparring time. He throws a bunch of lefts, then switches to his right, only gets off a couple. Sawyer starts to throw wildly and looks like he's swimming. Linesmen come in to save Sawyer. With Paul Stewart as one of the 20 black and white shirts out there, I was disappointed to see an instigator called, it really wasn't that bad. Other Penalties: Webb received an instigator and misconduct.

Nov 25, 2001 1pd 03:16 Kevin Sawyer @NYR Dale Purinton
Sawyer bumps Purington on the forecheck at the blueline and both drop the gloves. Both have a good hold of the others right and are trying to get free. Purinton does first and throws three that miss. Sawyer then looks to land a big right but misses. Purington locks him out and finally starts throwing the rights. Each attempt to throw a couple of more rights as they spin around. As they're spinning, Purinton pushes Sawyer down.

Nov 30, 2001 1pd 19:59 Kevin Sawyer SAN Mark Smith
Sawyer and Smith go right in front of the net. Smith kind of jumps Sawyer from behind, but Sawyer recovers well. Smith throws a wild right not connecting, Sawyer then wildly throws 6 to 7 wild haymakers maybe landing a few to the top of Smith's helmet. By now, Sawyer is pulling the undersized Smith around the ice wildly and Smith falls to the ice. Other Penalties: Smith and Sawyer received roughings; Bryan Marchment a hooking.

Dec 05, 2001 1pd 07:59 Kevin Sawyer @EDM Georges Laraque
Off the draw, Sawyer challenges Laraque and away they go. Laraque is ragdolling Sawyer with one arm, looking to score shots with the left. Sawyer was ducking his head, and he had Georges' left tied up pretty good. Laraque was able to get about 3 shots off, landing to the back of the head. Sawyer then goes down, gets back up, meets a Laraque left and goes back down again.

Dec 08, 2001 3pd 18:35 Kevin Sawyer @CAL Robyn Regehr
Sawyer takes a huge run at Vernon, nails him, then drops the gloves and waits for someone to step up. Iginla was on his way, but Regehr beat him to the punch(so to speak). Sawyer tees off on Regehr hitting him countless times in the helmet, connecting some on the face. Other Penalties: Dean Mcammond received a misconduct; Sawyer a match penalty.

Iginla gets started by missing with a big left. Lambert comes back and also misses with a big right. They fall down but are able to get back up. Iginla throws a couple lefts that land well to the top of Lambert's head. Lambert swings Iginla around and lands a puch of his own. They go down agian but get back up and start hugging. Other Penalties: Lambert received a misconduct and game misconduct; Iginla a game misconduct (the gamers were for being the fight started while one was going on).

Dec 21, 2001 1pd 18:50 Kevin Sawyer PHO Brad May
Both have a nice long square off near center ice. May starts it off with a left bomb that just misses and he follows up with a couple more lefts. Both guys swing around trading punches. May landed a nice right which connected to the side of Sawyer's face and after that May seemed real tired and Sawyer came back with several punches of his own.

Dec 27, 2001 1pd 19:08 Denny Lambert @LOS Ian Laperriere
Both guys kinda collide, go into a clinch and drop the gloves. Lappy tries a short right that just doesn't have the motivation. Lambert returns a right but Lappy ducks away. Lambert throws another right that smashes into Ian's helmet. Now they grab on, in close. Lambert tosses a left while Lappy tries a right; both miss the mark. Against the boards now. They are still hugging and Lapperiere lands a short right to the helmet he follows up with a glancing blow off the helmet and another weak shot to the helmet. They are off balance and down they go. The linesmen break this one up now.

They both squared off and started throwing from the face-off. Started in fron of the Ducks bench and wound up more toward the center of the arena. Both traded many punches while the last one that Sawyer tried to land caught Vandy's helmet flush. Made a loud crunching noise.

Dec 31, 2001 2pd 09:08 Denny Lambert @CBJ Lyle Odelein
Odelein goes after Lambert after the play is blown dead, likely due to words the two had earlier. Lambert tries to start off with a right but it just ain't happening. Odelein follows with a nothing right and lands a few follow up glancing blows to Denny's helmet. Lambert has his head buried in Lyle's chest. Odelein fires a right that hits Lambert's back. They're all tied up now. Denny's helmet is off. Grabbing now. Odelein fires three quick rights while in close and two connect to the top of Lambert's head. Funny, it looks like Lambert's head is inside of Odelein's jersey. Lambert lands a crusher to the face of Odelein. In close again. Round and round they go. Denny wants that helmet off. Here we go: Lyle drops a big left as Lambert uncorks a right. Denny doesn't have the distance but Odelein does and he lands heavy to the face! He follows up with another left to the face and Lambert connects with a right at the same time! Lyle glances one off the back. Holding on now. Good flurry. Lambert cuts loose with a right that Lyle ducks and returns with a right that may have connected. Hard to tell due to the angle. Lambert throws a wild right that misses and pulls both guys off balance. Down they go. In come the zebras and it is over. Seemed like Lambert had his head down the whole fight. Nice fight.

Jan 19, 2002 1pd 02:47 Denny Lambert @CAL Craig Berube
Berube wanted to get back at Lambert for fighting their best player, Jarome Iginla, in the last game between these two, and he did just that. Berube lands the majority of shots in this one, and gets the jersey over Lambert's head, and lands a couple of shots while Denny is blinded before the linesmen step in.

Jan 19, 2002 2pd 13:15 Pavel Trnka @CAL Derek Morris
At a faceoff, Regehr gives Sawyer a shot with his stick below the belt. Sawyer shakes it off, and lines back up. After the puck is dropped, Regher drops his gloves and immediately grabs Sawyer, but Sawyer doesn't go. He keeps his gloves on, and the linesmen step in. Well, in comes Lambert and Morris and Allison everybody else on the ice and the gloves are all off. Then Sawyer throws his gloves off and tries to find a partner to go with. Trnka and Morris pair off and exchange punches in a pretty short tilt. Other Penalties: Regehr received a double roughing; Sawyer a roughing.

Jan 21, 2002 1pd 10:47 Kevin Sawyer LOS Ian Laperriere
Felix Potvin is behind the net, working the puck, and along comes Sawyer and just lays a shoulder into Potvin knocking him to the ice on his back. All the Kings on the ice come to the aid of their goalie and Laperriere ends up with Sawyer. Lappy tried his best to send the message to Sawyer by throwing a few punches with only 2 or 3 landing, but Sawyer hits him with about 5 or 6 of his own, plus the take down. Other Penalties: Sawyer received a charging major.

Lambert goaded Sutton prior to the faceoff. Slegr actually moved across from Lambert, but as soon as the puck dropped he jumped right in Sutton's face. Sutton took the bait and immediately dropped the gloves (he got the extra 2 minutes). The only solid punch that landed was an uppercut by Sutton that seemed to stun Denny. The funny part of the fight was immediately after the fight he (Lambert) skated to the home penalty box (old habits die hard). Other Penalties: Sutton received a boarding.

No punches of any significance were thrown. Odgers held on close. Sawyer tried to get away a couple of times, but couldn't. A couple of punches were thrown by both from in tight, that either missed completely or caught pads. The radio guy said at one time that a punch to the helmet by Odgers seemed to stun Sawyer, but eyewitness accounts said that Sawyer was just a little PO'd because he couldn't get free.

Apr 03, 2002 3pd 16:35 Mike LeClerc DET Darren McCarty
LeClerc crushes Slegr with a shoulder-to-face check. It looked bad because Slegr was losing balance as he was hit. McCarty jumps LeClerc who is flailing his arms in defense. McCarty nails him with a hard left to the jaw, turning LeClerc around. McCarty throws a right that doesn't land, and then nails him with another vicious left either to the shoulder or face. LeClerc drops to the ice and McCarty throws one more on way down to LeClerc's back.

Apr 05, 2002 1pd 13:42 Kevin Sawyer EDM Georges Laraque
Right off the faceoff in the Duck's zone, these two drop the gloves. Laraque rips Sawyer's helmet off as Sawyer is trying to tie up Georges' left arm. Laraque overpowers Sawyer and lands a barrage of about 6-8 left hand shots to Sawyer, who is hanging on for dear life at this point. Laraque is manhandling Sawyer now, and Sawyer goes down.
