Prediction

On paper, this looks like a breeze for Vancouver, but the reality is that this a series boasting the two hottest teams since February. Vancouver's 23-7-2 record got them an unlikely Northwest Division Title and St. Louis went from dead last in the conference to a 6th place finish with a 21-7-6 run. My brain says Vancouver will take it with Roberto Luongo being the difference-maker, but the heart wants this Cinderella story to continue.

John's Pick

Here are two of the hottest teams in the league following the All-Star break going at it in a very intriguing first round matchup. The Blues and their young squad might be the sexy upset pick in the quarterfinals, and I'm going to go with them. Chris Mason has been dreadful in the playoffs in the past, but his play over the last 10-15 games has been sensational. Couple that with the fact that St. Louis has a clear edge in regards to special teams, and I think the Blues might be able to escape with a razor-close series win. Blues in 7.

David's Pick

If both teams continue playing well, this could be the most fun series of the first round. Vancouver has more experience, more depth and a goaltending stud. If the Blues want to win, they need to play to their strength: youth. St. Louis needs to be fast, explosive, and wear out the Canucks best they can. Canucks should take this in 6, but overtime games could swing the series in the Blues favor.

Any team with human excrement like Burrows deserves a beating of the greatest magnitude.  Go St. Louis!! I may not be a fan but any team is better than the Vancouver No Cups and their trashy lineup of scabs, overpaid Europeans, and greasy haired oft injured goalies.

looks like someone is bitter about their team not making the playoffs, is that right “Vancouver Sucks Ass”? Maybe someone needs to go back to his group therapy because I don’t think it helped you the first time

GO CANUCKS GO!!!!!!

#3 - Luongo for the cup on Apr 16, 2009 at 07:01 PM

Vancouver sucks ass eh? Apparently 3rd in the conference and a 100 point season is awful, can I ask what your favorite team is? And if its the wings I’m sure you’ve jumped on the bandwagon just like everyone else after they won the cup last year.

GO CANUCKS GO!

Can either team hold serve?  If the Blues crack the Canucks home ice…and hold their own…Blues in 6 if they keep skating hard….problem…do they have anything in their legs left to do it?  The mad dash to the finish might have done them in.  I am a Pavol Demitra fan…wish he were still a Blue.

Learn how to speak properly retard.  Imbibing a little too much up there in BC you burnout. Stop taking up the ass? The only guy taking anything up the ass is you.  A supposed “man” who cheers for a hockey team with a hair pulling pussy and a greasy haired douche between the pipes who will be gone as soon as his contract expires.  Wave goodbye to Luongo and then wave goodbye to playoff contention you loser.  You and your shitty one man team can eat shit.  Now go pull someone’s hair bitch boy

Nucks in 5. Jackman’s a prick, Crumbum is a loser. The only thing keeping the Blues from losing 7-1 every night is Mason.
