McGrattan’s Trick, Boogaard Returns

Brian McGrattan had a monster night Friday.  After sending Darcy Hordichuk to the ice just minutes into the game he notched a goal and an assist in the second period to complete the Gordie Howe Hat Trick.

Tanner Glass and Brandon Prust had a good bout at the same time as McGrattan and Hordi.  Later in the game Rick Rypien also took on Prust.  Like McGrattan, Rypien picked up his first goal of the season and Prust chipped in with two assists for the Flames.  A solid night overall for the tough guys.

Boogaard’s return

Derek Boogaard played his first game Friday night.  He was a -1 with 2 PIMs in 6:28 against the Oilers.

An Avs-Wings fight, really

While still promoted as a rivalry, there hasn’t been much hatred between Colorado and Detroit in some time.  Nothing happened to re-spark it Saturday, but there was a real (and pretty good) fight in the Avs-Wings game between Cody McLeod and Brad May.

I know that McGrattan is a good fighter but last night he also proved that he was a pretty good player too! Way to go Brian smile

Pretty sweet to see Brian McGrattan pulling off the Gordie Howe hatrick inspite of his off ice problems that kept him out last season.  One thing with the Darcy Hordichuk fight.  Hordi will be looking for McGrattan to pay his comeuppance.

Hordichuck doesn’t stand a chance against a legit heavyweight. The guy is a moron who should be in the AHL.  You want to fight a Flame go after Prust or get your ass knocked out by Big Ern again.  He even said he thought he was on the offensive during the fight.  So flailing both arms in the air is being on the offensive hey? You are as delusional as the majority of Vancouver’s fans.  He’s lucky Mcgratton had his knuckles taped or he would have took a second beating that game. Nice back checking Hordichuck I hope that shaggy douche Stortini kicks your ass tonite.

okay, simmer down, BigErn.
maybe hordichuk chose to be an idiot with that pathetic fighting, but that doesn’t mean that you need to insult the entire Canucks fan base at the same time.
btw, you won’t get your wish of stortini kicking his butt tonight, because he’s a healthy scratch.  oh well, maybe you’ll get to see rypper pummel stortini (again).

Rypper is awesome.
