Lappybot

Ian Laperriere just won’t quit, which is a good thing considering he’s still the only Av this season who’s dropped the gloves.  He’s on top of the FM leaders list again after his bout last night against Ryane Clowe.

If you look at the teams leaders list you’ll see Lappy has more FMs than the Boston Bruins (10), Montreal Canadiens (9), Minnesota Wild (7) and the Detroit Red Wings (6).

Lappy’s fight is on the videos page, and the Peters-Alberts scrap is the newest Youtube preview.

DJ King has been recalled again by the Blues.  The Blues also put Dan Hinote on IR, so King might get more than a game in this time.

Hey Dave - how did you score the Clowe - Lappy fight?

And - do you attribute Clowe’s recent success to his step up in hits and his enforcer role or to his goal and assist output recently..or a combination of both?

Thanks,
Rob

If I had to pick a winner I’d give Clowe an edge in the fight, but it was close and it’s not really the kind of fight that has a loser IMO.

Clowe hits Skrastins hard, Lappy goes right at him, Clowe obliges.  At that point each player has already done his job.  Lappy stood up for his teammate and Clowe showed up when challenged after that big hit (and in front of the home town crowd).  The benches have more energy, the fans are into it.

Ron Wilson has been giving Clowe ice time with Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau.  He’s produced quickly and Wilson’s given him more ice time.  The confidence boost is easily seen in every part of his game right now.

The Sharks are having a great season so far, but it is interesting to note that they’re 18-4 with Clowe in the lineup, 13-11 without him.

Thanks for your reply Dave…

..especially the last stat..

based on this stat and all of the recent events I have become a pretty big Clowe Crone whereas in the past I did not pay that much attention to Ryan (Ryane?)

Yahoo Sports has it spelled with the “e” on the end…

No problem.  Ryane is with an “e” on the end (just like we have it here).
